I'm asking for a set of nice in-ear headphones for my iPod this year for Christmas. I've looked around a bit and am thinking that I'd like something in the $80-100 range.

If anyone has any suggestions on specific models, please let me know, but I'm primarily interested in sites that give reviews on this sort of thing. And the more the better - I like to get many different opinions on stuff like this.

So where do you guys go for in-depth reviews of electronics?

Cnet's reviews always seem spot on to me.

For in-ear, I've had the best luck with Shure. Just be aware that with in-ear headphones, they get gunked up pretty quick with ear wax, and have to be cleaned and have a wax guard replaced every so often.

I've had a pair of Shure in-ear headphones (i think the e3c ones -- retail for $100) for about 18 months now and I love them. There are more brands in the market now, but if I was looking to replace mine I'd go right back to Shure.

If you don't want to lay out for the Shure's (which are quite nice), I've been using the Etymotic Research ER6i headphones for awhile now and like the sound quality and the isolating quality. They're $70 at amazon:

They're not perfect. But they're pretty good and the price is good.

Bose just came out with some new in-ear headphones that look pretty nice, too, I've not read a lot about them because I'm not in the market for new headphones right now. As surprising as it sounds I've heard good things about the Koss "The Plug" headphones, http://www.amazon.com/Koss-The-Plug-Portable-Headphones/dp/B00001P4XA/sr=1-2/qid=1164934078/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/104-2425196-8161518?ie=UTF8&s=electronics

HeadWize actually has a fair amount of information about modifying them which can be found here http://www.headwize.com/projects/cmoy4_prj.htm

Hope some of this info was moderately helpful.

Thanks for the tip here. I picked up one of these from Amazon when I bought an ipod shuffle.

Don't have one, personally, but some people on OO swears by these doodads (http://www.sennheiserusa.com/newsite/productdetail.asp?transid=500830) from Sennhei-whatchamacallit.
