I usually don't like to pimp things on FOFC, well ok that's a lie because I pimp my blog all the time but if you are a star wars fan or a fan of comedy you have to check this trailer out.

A few years ago my friends went to Indianapolis to go to Celebration 3. When they went they took a camera along to film. They knew all along that they wanted to make a movie but the end product ended up being hilarious. They do a mockumentry that makes fun of star wars fans, but they do it while being star wars fans. They don't opening go in and openly make fun of them, but by playing characters, which in some cases aren't far from who they are in real life.

The movie won an award for the Best Feature Film at GENCON in 2006 and the guys rented out a theater in Pittsburgh last night and showed it to their family and friends. It was a great success. So if you get a chance check out the trailer linked below. My good friend Budd plays the Character "Smitty", but I am also friends with everyone else in the movie. It is amazing that they made this movie with such a small budget (under a few k).

April, 2005. A film crew follows five delusional fans during the Star Wars Celebration in Indianapolis, Indiana.

See the hilarious reality of us Star Wars fans and all the costumes, long lines, exhibits, games, and fanny packs. Watch the film evolve from a great documentary into A GREAT DISTURBANCE.

I thought this was going to be another retelling of time you got to second base with Natalie Portman in a closet. If that wasn't unbelievable enough, now you want me to believe you have friends? ;)

I've heard about this too but I hadn't watched it yet. I'll have to check it out.

I thought we established it was Mario Lopez?

KCChief is correct about the Natalie Portman part.

AhhhhH! I was at C3. The most fun I had was taking pictures of all the crazies dressed up as characters. And I spent way too much money.

I always prefered Triumph poking fun at SW nerds.
