Apparently a lot of 28-30 year olds are into football text sims. I'm proud to fall in the middle of that group.

What I'm really curious to find out is whether the average age of the board members is steady or increasing over time. I would wager that five years ago, most of us on this board were avg=~25 and now it's avg=~30. And if that's true, what that means with regards to things like (A) forum topics, (B) available time for text sim sport games, (C) Solecismic's target demographic, etc...

anyone on this board born before '65 is just a dirty ole' man.

Man... interesting to me that no one is under the age of 18 so far... explains a lot about why this community is different from so many others out there.

I predict the ammount of dirty ole men on this board will rise dramatically in the next few years so long as Solecismic is still making sims.

And if that's true, what that means with regards to things like (A) forum topics, (B) available time for text sim sport games, (C) Solecismic's target demographic, etc...It's definitely increasing over time:

http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=4890

In that poll, (4 years ago), 42.27% of those voting were 30 or over. In this one, approximately 58.59% are 30 or over. (I calculated that by assuming that of the 12 1977ers, approximately 1 has already turned 30.) Furthermore, the 38-and-up and 42-and-up numbers have more than DOUBLED (5.69% vs.13.00% and 3.25% vs. 6.61%, respectively). I commented on this to Arlie recently, actually, regarding the BBCF interface being white writing on black text, and that people have compained about eye fatigue. Most of those who had that problem were in the ever-increasing over-35 crowd. (He has mentioned to me that his future games will go with light backgrounds and dark writing.) I, too, wonder if age of the audience is going to be something that text sim developers have to take into account in the future. I know that my brother, who is 50, recently switched to 800 by 600 resolution almost exclusively.
