I am just getting into "The Code: The Unwritten Rules Of Fighting And Retaliation In The NHL" by Ross Bernstein. A fascinating read that I would recommend to any Hockey, especially the casual ones like myself. It is amazing how much regard the Players put into the rules of Fighting, some great behind the scenes stuff too.

Saw that in a bookstore the other day and took a look. A quick scan made me think it wasn't very deep and I put it back on the shelf. If you get through it and find out it's actually well done, let us know.

It has a lot of short antedotes, but it does go into more detail at various points as well. Again, a lot of it may be common knowledge to the more serious fans, but it is still entertaining if you already know a lot of the inner workings of the code IMO. I would definitely suggest giving it a look.

It says so in the book anyways........Say they used to pay fellers just to punch each other.........Wait, could this be a work of fiction?
