Yep. To my knowledge, 2K7 is the only baseball game coming out for the 360.

I can't see EA giving up on baseball as a product line, so I suspect they've decided to build a brand-new version for the 360, and they're not rushing it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2K_Sports_Major_League_Baseball_series

In 2005, in response to EA Sports (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EA_Sports)' exclusive license with the National Football League (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Football_League) and ESPN prohibiting any NFL 2K (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_2K) games for the foreseeable future, Take-Two Interactive signed an exclusive third-party licensing contract with Major League Baseball (MLB), MLBPA and MLBAM to produce MLB games. The agreement, which runs from Spring 2006 to 2012, allows for the console manufacturers Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo to produce MLB titles for their respective platforms, but bars third party developers such as EA Sports from continuing or developing their own MLB games.

Remember, baseball is semi-exclusive as well. I don't think EA will do a baseball game with fake players. The era where that worked is over, I think.

I was assuming the thread was about baseball games and not just MLB baseball games. My point being, I expect EA will continue with the College Baseball line on the 360 at some point (College Baseball being their answer to the MLB exclusivity issue).

Just not this year.

Next year, maybe?

Also, MS has the legal ability to do a baseball game, but having sold off the sports studio, I really don't know what will happen there.

I think they still own the rights to the name High Heat Baseball and as long as they publish the game, they could get anyone to make the game for them

Read the MLB 2k7 thread, the game is the only one for the 360, but it's sounding like Brinkman (former MVP producer) had done a respectable job in his first year at 2k sports.

With the half-assed (or, more accurately, quarter-assed) effort that EA put into this year's college baseball game, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they don't even bother with it next year.

This is just a guess, but I suspect that while EA wants to keep a presence in the baseball game area, they also don't consider it a top title. As such, they probably don't feel a huge push to make big updates to the existing code base - especially if they are working on a new, next-gen (360, PS3) version.

Just a guess though...
