A buddy of mine has a RCA P52755BA with chassis PTK178LB. When trying to get the blue to converge, it's bleeding to all sides, about an inch to all sides.

To get a tech out to even take a look at the issue will run $200 or so, and the one guy he talked to on the phone said that from what he was told, it was a parts issue and woudl run him $300-$500 to get fixed.

To clarify, this is a tv I gave to this guy after buying a new hdtv as he's hit a bad string of luck and can't afford to buy toys like this, even the projected cost of repairing this one based on the one phone quote is prohibitive (and almost enough that looking at a newer tv would make more sense). We were kind of hoping at first that just a cleaning of the blue gun would be enough, but figured before he gives that a go, I'd throw this open to the masses and see if any with more knowledge than us (which would be pretty much anybody, heh) had any suggestions for a do it yourself fix).

My buddy is pretty technically inclined, has downloaded the user manual, looked into how to clean the guns, but before attempting it, I said I'd do a quick check and see what I could come up with.

Thanks.
