Ok.
Some of you probably know I do a fair bit of cross-stitching. I know, what is tomboy tk doing cross-stitching? But I'm into it. It's really relaxing. And that's all that really matters. I've decided to enter a contest with a category for cross-stitch to showcase my stitching skills.

The contest entails stitching an original design (i.e. one that I create) related to baseball. Given that I've been a BoSox fan since I started following baseball (when I was about 6 or 7, thanks grandpa!), I've come up with 6 patterns. The idea is the same, just the color of the letters and letter borders is different. I have one I'm preferential to, but would like the opinions of the group at large. I plan on going out and buying my threads on Saturday, so would like opinions before then.

Each design is linked below. Note that each design may look sort of funny if you don't expand it to its proper size. Also, the background is to be navy blue, but it's hard to get the stitching pattern creation program I'm using to show that properly, as it shows the white lines for the squares (they will not be visible in the final product), so take that into account. You can vote for more than one, but please don't let your bias impact your vote if your'e not a fan of Boston (or if, heaven forbid, you're a Yankee fan! ;)). And please don't vote for all 6, this is kind of important to me.

I was pretty split on 1 and 4, picked 4.

Mine came down to 1 and 4 as well, but I think the white outline looks better against the blue then the red outline, eventhough I like the reversal of colours between the We Believe and the Logo.

Pains me as a Jays fan to know that more Red Sox material is coming into the world, but #1 seemed like the best to me as far as how the colors matched up.

Well Travis, it's just a contest entry, it's not like there's more than 1 of these that's going to get made, so don't worry too much. ;)

I had also thought about doing the Boston "B" as the "B" in "Believe." It would look something like this http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com/stitching/bosox_test.JPG on Option 1.

To me, it seems a little cornier. Any thoughts from the crowd?

Again, really, thanks for the votes/input. I really do appreciate it.

I preferred 4, but I'm not a Sox fan so you might want to take that into account. 1 was next.

I like #1 and #4 the most.

I've updated the images slightly on each, to make them a little more clear (less white for the squares).

So there is:
Option 1:
http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com...hiteborder.JPG (http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com/stitching/bosox_option1_redletters_whiteborder.JPG)
Option 2:
http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com...blueborder.JPG (http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com/stitching/bosox_option2_redletters_blueborder.JPG)
Option 3:
http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com...lackborder.JPG (http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com/stitching/bosox_option3_redletters_blackborder.JPG)
Option 4:
http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com..._redborder.JPG (http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com/stitching/bosox_option4_whiteletters_redborder.JPG)
Option 5:
http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com...blueborder.JPG (http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com/stitching/bosox_option5_whiteletters_blueborder.JPG)
Option 6:
http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com...lackborder.JPG (http://kristin.seidelmann-owners.com/stitching/bosox_option6_whiteletters_blackborder.JPG)
And the slightly different design in any of the above themes:

I was going to ask why you didn't do this, but looking at it, it does look a bit awkward.

I chose #5, I like how the logo contrasts with the words, but it looks like I'm in the minority.

I also liked either #1 or #4 the best, with #4 the winner in a close one.

It's funny, but this was my first thought. The pick looks rather corny, though, so I think that's out. I thought that 1 and 4 both looked acceptable, but that #1 was the better choice by a fair margin.

My final two were one and four, and I picked one.
