Hail to thee Park High,
Hail thy orange and blue.
Thy light shall guide us,
Thy beacon bright and true.
Hail to thee Park High,
This our pledge shall be!
Park High forever, Hail Hail Hail to thee!
Just a quick-paced, skim n' sim dynasty inspired by Peregrine's TCY/FOF dynasties. I'll be following the players from my high school alma mater, Racine Park High School.
I may have done this before and abandoned it, but hell, I'm doing it again. Chances of getting studly players are slim, but that'll make the stars that arise all the more exciting.
I've set the Sol-8 in Wisconsin to have a better chance of players from Panthers Blue and Orange making it to D-1.
Park High Notes:
Athletic Prep: 41
Academic Prep: 28
Not a terrible dice roll on our school. I'll take it.
Year 1: 2004
ILB Danny Fields:
A mediocre student (2.6 GPA) with the stereotypical swagger of a star athlete, he's the lone Panther to be receiving Divison I attention this year. Rated 35/100 by our Good scout, his strength is playing in a zone defense, but he has trouble playing against the run. Rated 66th in the state, he's considered the 4th best ILB in Wisconsin. His ultimate dream is to play for a prestigious school, with the astronomy program as a much less important secondary consideration. Not likely to become a bigtime player at the college level, but who knows?
End Season:
Despite amassing 76 tackles, the fourth highest total in the state, and half a sack, Danny gets no overt interest from any D-1 schools and so ends up taking a scholarship offer from a D-3 school in Minnesota where he gets the chance to be an impact freshman.
Year Two
CB Sammy Burnett:
An even more tepid student than Fields was, he rates as an even worse prospect, just 29 by our Excellent scout and rated the 11th rated cornerback in the state. Too bad my alma mater's not Racine Case or Racine Horlick, because they're pretty stacked in this dynasty, especially Case. Most primary factor is to stay close to home, team prestige a much lesser concern. His lone saving grace is that he has an instinct for interceptions.
End Season:
29 tackles, 2 sacks and 6 interceptions aren't enough to give Sammy even a sniff from anyone and so he, too, goes the D-3 route, just over the Illinois-Wisconsin border 20 minutes away. Will we ever get a star?
Class calls. When I get back, I'll keep going through people and years until it finally looks like we have someone who will get signed.

Year 3: 2006
RB Josh Rasmussen
Another year, another borderline academic and athletic prospect. A guy who can break away when he finds the open hole, but is no power runner. Poor attitude and 12th ranked back in the state, our Poor scout rates him at 14. Yeah, fat chance anyone will pick him up. Racine Horlick, incidentally, has the 99th ranked player nationally, 10th ranked RB in the US.
End Season:
660 yards rushing, a 3.77 ypc average, and 6 TDs in your senior of high school gets you squat except a walk-on at the D-3 level. Yep, that's right, Josh didn't even get a scholarship offer. I know D-3 schools don't offer scholarships in the real world, but in -my- universe they do.
Year 4: 2007
For the first time in school history, we have more than one prospect, yay!
FB Ted Borders
4th ranked FB in the state, he's a decent, but not great student. A grunt back whose primary attribute is his ability to run block. Our Poor scout rates him 21. He's got a pretty good attitude and values equal close to home and team prestige. There's an outside shot he'll get a look.
TE Rick Viragh
Like Borders, an okay student. Really wants a name school, one that's close to home. Good attitude, but he's the 12th ranked TE in the state and extremely inconsistent. 21 rating from a Decent scout and he'll probably be yet another D-3 guy.
P Lincoln Zimmerman
3.21 GPA, 1004 SAT, 27 rating from a Good scout and #8 P in the state = academic scholarship from somewhere in the making, even though he's got a decent leg and is super consistent. Oh, very good attitude guy, too. But the talent just isn't there. Team prestige and academics are valued equally.
Week Two
Hallejuah! A scholarship offer is on the table!!!!!!!
FB Ted Borders has a scholarship offer from the UW-La Crosse Eagles. Sure it's a Sol-8 school, but damn it, we might actually have something to look forward to now.
Week Three
FB Ted Borders is visiting La Crosse. The Delta Sigma Phi chapter shows him a great time and suggests he should come there and pledge the fraternity. Ted sure loved Jimmy John's subs and swears that Pizza Doctors is some of the best pizza he's ever had.
Week Nine
The Eagles pull Ted Borders's scholarship offer as they find more intriguing prospects. It's a sad, sad day for Ted and this dynasty.
End Season:
Ironically enough, it was UW-La Crosse's first winning season in this dynasty, as they went 8-3 and made it to the New Orleans Bowl, where they were promptly shut out 27-0 by Utah State.
Once more all three of our boys are off to non D-1 schools, though Ted Borders did make it to a D-2 school, where he has a very good shot at starting.
Year 5: 2008
WR Herb Hammond:
The worst academic prospect yet, he did terribly on the SAT and only carries a 2.26 GPA. But he's also the 76th best prospect in Wisconsin, the first time since Danny Fields back in 2004 that we've had a Top 100 state prospect. Unfortunately, he's also the 7th best WR, so his chances are slim, despite his good attitude, 33 rating by the Good scout and toughness in catching the ball in traffic. He also has a tendency to lose focus and drop balls when not in the pressure situations. Team prestige and distance are weighed equally.
End Season
In a cruel bit of irony, every receiver ahead of Herb got a scholarship, even the 6th ranked WR, who caught on with the UW-Milwaukee Panthers. Say hello to another D-2 prospect. *sigh*
Year 6: 2009
No prospects. Feh.
Year 7: 2010
RB Jamal Roden:
Pisspoor student, 13th ranked RB in the state, 22 by Poor Scout, power runner who isn't clutch on 3rd down, good attitude, really wants a prestige school, preferably one that's close by, blah blah blah. At least he's better than Josh Rasmussen back in '06.
Week Two
Yay!!! Jamal Roden has been contacted by UW-La Crosse. Make up for your previous errors, oh alma mater (in Fall 2007) of mine!
Week Ten
UW-La Crosse invites Jamal to visit the campus and he mulls it over.
Week Thirteen
Once again, the Eagles pull the rug out and decide he's taken too long to decide whether or not to visit. This is getting depressing.
End Season
691 yards isn't much better than 660 and no more looks for Jamal. Off he goes to Division II. Who cares where? UW-La Crosse, by the way, proved 2007 a fluke, going back to 2-9, 3-8, 3-8 seasons since then.
Year 8: 2011
C Luther Seau
A very, very, very, very distant relative of Junior Seau, he's an average student with an okay attitude who really wants to stay close to home, preferably with a decent Geology program. The 6th best center in the state, he's rated 30 by our Very Good scout and is a run blocker first and foremost.
S Phillip McPike
...I'm laughing so hard I can let myself cry. In this universe UW-Parkside has a football team and good old Phillip idolizes UW-High School! Hahahahaha! He cheated on his SAT to get a 1153 and bely his 2.53 GPA. He's also rated 10 by our Excellent scout and has a lousy attitude. Yeah, you keep on sucking Phil and enjoy UW-High School when you have to pay your way through that shit school.
Week Three
Luther Seau's been contacted by your friend and mine, UW-La Crosse and because the assistant coach just happened to be at Horlick Field to check out the game, he contacted Phillip McPike too.
Week Four
Whoot! Luther Seau gets a scholarship offer from the Eagles and visits the campus. Delta Sigma Phi wines and dines him and in this universe, the Alpha Phis are still hot, but not bitchy, and the Alpha Xi Deltas are hot to go with their coolness. Hey, it's a dream world, why not? Oh hell, let's say Greek life has expanded by this point to throw in another sorority, say Delta Delta Delta. I <3 the Tri-Delts I know.
Week 12
Luther Seau...... COMMITS TO UW-LA CROSSE! OMG! OMG! YES!!!!!! WE HAVE OUR FIRST PARK PANTHER IN DIVISION I!!!!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/UWL.jpg
UW-La Crosse Eagles football helmet
Minor Bowl Week
The Eagles come to their senses and drop all contact with Phillip McPike.
End Season:
The UW-La Crosse Eagles finished 4-7, their best season since 2007. Their starting center is also a senior and graduating, but it's a crowded numbers game on the line, so who knows if new Eagle Luther Seau will be able to break in.
But the important thing is, we finally have someone's college career to watch!

Wow, good luck with this one, it's tough to go from one high school unless they're a really good one. Good luck Luther "Juniorer" Seau!

So I've noticed. :) What's really sad is that I haven't kept up with the corresponding NFL seasons, so I need to go sim a bunch of seasons in FOF2K7 now :D
Thanks for the comment, by the way :)
And you've just nicknamed him :D

Year 9: 2012
C Luther "Juniorer" Seau UW-La Crosse Eagles (Fr)
With RS freshman Blake West clearly the best center on the team, Luther doesn't look like he's going to be a starter at the college level. In fact, he's rated at 7/15. Ouch. Thankfully, the coaching staff decides to redshirt him to see if he can turn out, but it's not looking good. He might well never play a down for the Burgundy and Silver, but he's ecstatic to be attending UW-L and already has a hot girlfriend.
There's no prospects from Park this year, so it's going to be a quiet season.
End Season
UW-La Crosse finished another unremarkable campaign, going 4-7. Luther "Juniorer" Seau kept his redshirt the entire year and pulled a surprising 2.66 GPA, considering he's not very bright (28 Intelligence). He still has the same girlfriend he did at the beginning of the year, so things are going well for him, all things considered.
Year 10: 2013
C Luther "Juniorer" Seau UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Fr)
Focusing on his grades and his girlfriend meant that Luther actually took a step back, now rated 4/15 and rusty from so little practice. It's looking less and less likely that he'll ever see the field as there's a walk-on freshman who looks better than he does. Blake West will start again and is quickly becoming one of the best centers in the country.
RB Seth Grafton
A breakaway runner in the mold of 2006's Josh Rasmussen, he's a lot better than his predecessor. The 76th best player in the state and Wisconsin's 6th ranked running back, his chances of getting picked up are slim, but they're there. Mediocre grades and poor attitude may do him in as he hunts for a name school first and foremost, closeby a second concern. Rated 34 by a Poor scout.
G Brian Blackburn
Poor attitude and a pretty bad student, but he's #79 in Wisconsin's Top 100 and the 7th ranked guard. Like UW-L Eagle Seau, he's a run blocker, rated 30 by the Very Good scout. Values prestige and closeness equally. Not likely to get picked up, but at least he and Grafton have a chance in following in Seau's footsteps.
Neither one will suit up for the Eagles, incidentally, as A) UW-L doesn't offer their majors and B) they both absolutely hate Luther "Juniorer" Seau.
Week 14
Stunning news! Seth Grafton receives the first non-Sol 8 scholarship offer in Racine Park history as the Bowling Green Falcons come calling with a free ride and a visit, which Seth immediately takes. Could we see the first Park Panther in school history to attend a more prestigious conference?
Week 15
Oh my! RB Seth Grafton, he of the 685 rushing yards, 4.14 ypc, and 4 TDs announced today that he will be attending....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Bowling_Green.gif
BOWLING GREEN!!! WE HAVE OUR FIRST NON SOL-8 PLAYER IN PARK HIGH HISTORY!!!!
End Season
It was not only a banner year for Park, it was for UW-L as well, as the Eagles had just their second winning season in school history at 6-5. Unfortunately, they failed to make a bowl game. As expected, Luther Seau didn't get on the field, and although he's still happy with his now longtime girlfriend Lynn and still doing relatively well in the classroom (2.56 cumulative GPA), he's becoming unhappy with not being able to play.
The Bowling Green Falcons have an overall losing record and have never been to a bowl game, but they're traditionally a competitive team and were robbed of a bowl appearance last season when they went 8-3. This year, they collapsed, going an astonishing 1-10 in the single worst turnaround in this universe's history.
Brian Blackburn, despite by some considered a better offensive line prospect than Seau, received not even so much as a walk-on invitation. He'll go on to become a star at the D-2 level, I'm sure.
Things are improving for players and teams to track. Although we don't even have a legitimate college player yet I suspect, though we haven't seen how Seth looks as a college freshman, we're at least getting people to watch and maybe someday we'll actually have someone who plays, possibly even starts.
A star? An NFL prospect? Pipe dreams for now.

Year 11: 2014
C Luther "Juniorer" Seau UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Soph)
Luther busted his tail this summer, really hitting the weight room and working on improving himself enough so that he's up to 10/15 by the scout's rating. Unfortunately, he's still only the fourth best center on the roster, so his shot at playing time is pretty slim. However, Blake West's main backup is a senior this year, so if Luther keeps working hard, he might have an outside chance of being the backup center and seeing the field his junior and senior years.
RB Seth Grafton Bowling Green Falcons (Fr)
Seth is easily the greatest athlete ever to come out of the Park program in this universe (which, incidentally makes sense, given the real-life tradition of storied power running backs to don the Panther Orange and Blue - Brent Moss, Eric Hamilton, Johnny Clay just to name a few of the more recent greats at the position). He's rated 22/50 by the scout and is being redshirted. As most of the guys ahead of him are juniors and seniors, he's got an excellent shot to see the field in a couple years. Grades will be a concern, as he's neither bright (26 Intel) nor motivated (19 Aspir). Still, if he can keep from flunking, he could be a player in orange and white.
DE Craig Desai
A pass rusher, he's rated 15 by our Good Scout, the same as his state position ranking. Yeah, he's likely not going anywhere. Idolizes UW-Parkside (*snickers*), has a decent attitude and really wants to stay close to home. Given that he's the latest in a long line of mediocre academics from Park in this world, it's no surprise that Prestige is his secondary consideration. Like the others before him, he doesn't like Luther Seau at all.
End Season
UW-La Crosse goes into a tailspin again, finishing 3-8. Luther Seau is still dating Lynne and brought his GPA back up to a 2.64. Unfortunately, he didn't take the field and is now angry about not even seeing one single play and on a team this bad, it's hard to blame him.
Bowling Green didn't fare much better than last year, going 2-9. Seth Grafton kept his redshirt and surprised the hell out of everyone with a 2.86 GPA. Evidently the Trigonometry program at Bowling Green is pretty easy, as he got a B+ in Trig I and Algebra I and even scored a B in Pokemon Training.
Craig Desai is headed lower division route obviously.
Year 12: 2015
C Luther "Juniorer" Seau UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Jr)
Another year of Blake West in the middle of the line, the last year in fact. I'm almost tempted to keep an eye on West's NFL career if one appears. Luther's up to 11/15, but he's sadly still the fourth-best center on the roster, the underclassmen outgaining him. It's simply a case of just not having the talent to be a Division I player.
RB Seth Grafton Bowling Green Falcons (RS Fr)
Seth improved marginally over the summer, going up to 23/50. He's the fourth best RB on the roster, but there's also two freshmen being redshirted who will definitely challenge him for playing time next year when the two seniors on the squad graduate. I don't think he'll get in a game this year, but next season, if he tries hard enough, he'll break on to the field.
ILB Troy Wolfe
5 rated by our Good scout means he's going nowhere so I'm not going to bother writing on him.
DE Jerry Horton
I got really excited when I saw this name in blue. Forget Seth Grafton, -this- is the best athlete in Panther history in this universe. Although he's a better run stopper than pass rusher, he's the 35th best player in the state and the 3rd best defensive end in Wisconsin. Good attitude, okay student who wants name and closeness equally, he's rated a dazzling 47 by our Good scout. My guess is he's overrated somewhat, though he does have 29 tackles and a sack in four games. What a thrill to see, a blue player!
Week 4
Jerry gets a scholarship offer and visit invitation from UW-Milwaukee, which also in this universe has a football team, though the Panthers don't in reality.
Week 7
For the first time in Park High history, colleges are fighting over a Panther prospect! The University of Cincinnati extends a scholarship and visit invite and South Carolina makes contact.
Week 8
Deciding to take advantage of this rare opportunity, Jerry spends the weekend visiting both UW-Milwaukee and Cincinnati. Local forum gossip has it that he's going to be a Bearcat. South Carolina invites him to come check out the campus, but no scholarship as of yet.
Week 10
Interest is heating up. North Carolina and Southern Missippi both contact Jerry and suddenly he's become a hot commodity. There may never be another Panther who gets this much attention. I'm loving it. This kind of thing is what makes doing a single school dynasty all worth it, when one comes along who does draw considerable interest.
Week 11
The Panthers get scared and so UW-Milwaukee pulls its offer at the same time that South Carolina finally steps up with a scholarship, so Jerry heads off to visit South Carolina. Scuttlebutt is even stronger that he'll end up a Bearcat. Southern Missippi invites him to visit, but no scholarship, like the Gamecocks did at the beginning.
Week 12
It's a funny thing, momentum in college recruiting. Today's bright star becomes tomorrow's has-been and as better prospects suddenly light up the other colleges, Jerry's now left with only the contact from North Carolina, having waited too long to decide. Kind of disappointing if you want to know the truth.
Week 13
A faint light. Iowa contacts Jerry and suggests he come check out the campus. A walk-on to a Big Ten school is better than nothing.
Week 14
Still no offers, but he's got visit invites from Baylor and Boise State as well now, so if nothing else, Jerry should be able to walk on somewhere and maybe fight his way into a scholarship role.
Conference Championship Week
We have a scholarship offer! The Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State see that Jerry's fallen through the cracks and offer a free ride. In addition, Northern Illinois invites him to walk on. Jerry immediately goes to check out MTSU.
Minor Bowl Week
This see-sawing is fascinating to watch and Jerry's down again this week, with only the walk-on offer from Northern Illinois remaining. Though he's no doubt discouraged at the sudden lost of interest -again-, he visits the Huskies.
Major Bowl Week
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a scholarship offer and Jerry Horton, defensive end stud, has accepted it! He will be attending.....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Texas.gif
The University of Texas!
...Yeah. I don't get that one either. One of the most prestigious schools in this universe. But hey, hook 'em Horns! (the -only- time you will ever hear me say or write those words, by the way).
End Season:
UW-La Crosse had its usual terrible season with a 2-9 mark. The Eagles just can't seem to build up any sort of a program other than a sucky one. Luther Seau went through another year without playing and now has a 2.54 cumulative GPA, due to nearly flunking Chemistry. So he's still furious about playing time, but having Lynn around helps a lot.
Bowling Green snapped their recent funk and posted a 7-4 record, returning back to respectability, though they were criminally denied a bowl bid. Seth Grafton, as expected, didn't take the field either, but he'll have a shot next season.
Texas has been a dominating force in this universe. They're 9-2 in bowl games and have won two national titles, in 2007 and 2010. They would have three, but lost to Michigan in the 2012 title game. The Wolverines have far and away the most national titles with five, and the Tennessee Volunteers are the only other school with multiple national championships thus far with two.
In fact, there's only one year the Longhorns haven't been to a bowl game and that was last season, when they finished 5-6, their first and only losing season in school history. This year, they rebounded with an 8-4 record and beat Northwestern 31-28 in the Independence Bowl.
Next year is going to be an exciting one. Luther Seau will have his senior season, Seth Grafton has a shot at playing time, and Jerry Horton will see if he can make the grade at one of the best three programs in the nation.

Year 13: 2016
C Luther "Juniorer" Seau UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Sr)
Well, what do you know? Luther up and quits the team in his senior year over a lack of playing time. A damned shame too, because it looked like he would've had a great shot at being the backup this year and actually gotten to play. Oh well. He's happily engaged to Lynn and will graduate this year with degree in hand.
RB Seth Grafton Bowling Green Falcons (RS So)
Happily, Seth worked harder this offseason than he did last year and he's now rated 26/50, good enough to make him the third best back on the squad. The starter is a senior and while he's got a long way to go to catch up to the redshirt freshman ahead of him, at the very least Seth should be the top backup in his junior year.
DE Jerry Horton University of Texas Longhorns (Fr)
You'd think as prestigious a school as UT-Austin would be stocked at all positions, but nope, they're pathetic at defensive end. There's one genuinely good senior and a couple of fair guys. In fact, the situation is so deplorable that at 8/64, Jerry's the fifth best DE on the team in current rating. Still, the Longhorns coaching staff loves both Jerry's potential and the promise exhibited by fellow freshman Luther Stallings (5/66), so they're both being redshirted.
No prospects from Park this year. In fact, there's only two Racine prospects and both are from our crosstown rivals, Horlick.
End Season:
Bowling Green goes 5-6, a two game losing streak at the end of the season dooming their bowl hopes. Seth Grafton became the very first Park Panther to play Division I football, appearing on the field for 14 pass plays and 5 run plays. Although he didn't get his hands on the ball, he did play on special teams, recording 5 tackles. Congratulations, Seth! Now let's get you the ball! His GPA dipped to something more normal this year, dropping to 2.75 cumulative and he almost flunked a couple classes. On the other hand, he's carrying an A- average in Trigonometry, his major.
The Big 12 was unkind to the Longhorns this year and as a result Texas recorded just its second losing season at 5-6. Jerry Horton stayed redshirted the whole year and is primed to challenge for PT next year. He put up a 2.86 GPA and is just loving being in Austin.
Year 14: 2017
RB Seth Grafton Bowling Green Falcons (RS Jr)
Here was Seth's big chance to break away and establish himself as the clear-cut #2 running back on the Falcons, but he didn't do that. He improved only incrementally, to 27/50 and as a result, he's tied for the second best back. Will he get some carries this year? I'm leaning towards yes, but nothing's for certain.
DE Jerry Horton University of Texas Longhorns (RS Fr)
What a big, big disappointment. Luther Stallings was a workout demon in the offseason, pushing himself up to where he's the third best DE on the team. Jerry? Goofed off all summer and is now in worse shape than he started, rated 6/65. Unless he gets it turned around, there's not much chance of his getting to play.
K Burt Largent
Rated 20 by a Good scout means he's got virtually no chance of going anywhere.
TE Colin Harrison
Like Largent, only 21 by a Good Scout. He's not going to play D-I ball.
ILB T.J. Ellison
A mediocre student with a lousy attitude, he's the 98th best player in the state, 8th at his position. Rated 37 by our Decent scout, he's great in a m-2-m scheme but can't rush the passer. Wants first and foremost to stay close to home, with prestige a secondary concern. 2 interceptions already in four games. Might catch on somewhere.
G Tyrone Junker
Glory, glory hallejuah! Praise be to the TCY gods! Sure, he's an unsexy guard, but he's the 315th best player in the United States, the 24th best guard in the country. In Wisconsin, he's the 8th best player and the 2nd ranked guard. A tepid student, but who cares? Our Very Good scout has him marked down as a run-blocking beast, rated a sweet, oh so sweet 70. Tyrone, like T.J. really wants to stay close to home, name a distant second in factors. Did we mention he's got a good attitude?
Week Two
Tyrone has offers from UW-Green Bay (the Phoenix have a football team in this universe too, unlike in reality) and, curiously enough, Oregon State. Fat chance he'll be a Beaver.
Week Three
Georgia Tech and UW-Parkside (*cackle*) make Tyrone scholarship offers and West Virginia makes contact. I hope he becomes a Yellow Jacket. I'd like to have his actual school if he becomes an NFL prospect. Yes, he's that damn good in my eyes.
Week Five
The party may be over. Madison's just made contact and if the Badgers follow up with an offer, it'll probably be Game.Set.Match Wisconsin.
Week Six
Madison invites Tyrone to visit the campus. Can a scholly be far behind?
Week Seven
The Yellow Jacket rumours get some more legs when Tyrone takes his first visit with Georgia Tech. Still no nibbles for T.J. but maybe something will come up late in recruiting.
Week Eight
Florida joins the festivities with a contact, but time's running out, as Tyrone's now visited UW-Green Bay and UW-Parkside in addition to Georgia Tech. Oh please please please become a Yellow Jacket!
Week Nine
Tyrone Junker commits! He'll be attending....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Wisconsin.gif
The University of Wisconsin-Madison!
Like I said, if the Badgers made a scholarship offer, it'd be all over. Excellent to see! :) I was getting really nervous there that he might go to one of those crappy Sol-8 schools.
End Season:
Much to my disappointment, T.J. Ellison didn't get a nibble. He was an okay prospect; I just think he was a victim of the numbers game this year.
Bowling Green took another step back and a winless out of conference showing doomed them to a 4-7 record. Seth Grafton got to play, but not in the manner you expect. He wasn't on the field for any offensive plays, but he recorded 3 specials team tackles and perhaps, most intriguingly, did some return work this year. He returned one punt for -7 yards as nervousness overtook him and he floundered, trying to make a big play. Kickoff returns were much more successful as he returned 4 kicks for an average of 19.7 yards per return. Not bad at all!
Hopefully Seth can do more his senior year.
Texas had its second straight losing season at 5-6 and there's loud grumblings in Austin at the ruination of this proud team. Maybe the Longhorns can turn it around, though. Despite being a lazy, undeserving bastard, Jerry Horton appeared in a few games, recording 3 tackles and an assist in 15 total plays. Ah well, at least he can tell his kids and grandkids he played for one of the traditional powerhouse teams.
Wisconsin's been pretty good in this universe. Only three losing seasons and those were all 5-6 records. They have an 8-3 mark in bowl games as well, including a 24-10 dismantling of Georgia in the Alamo Bowl this year.

Unlikely. My HS alma mater hardly shows up in TCY, and they've all been terrible players (Dunno if it's random. Maybe I've just been unlucky). I was thinking, if I were to do something like this, of extending it to all of the high schools in my school's conference.
EDIT: Heh, just checked one of my leagues and Gateway Regional (New Jersey) has some pretty high numbers. I guess it is completely random.

EDIT: Heh, just checked one of my leagues and Gateway Regional (New Jersey) has some pretty high numbers. I guess it is completely random.
Yep, it is completely random. Says so in the help file too :) Expanding it to high schools in your school's conference would be cool or even in your hometown (if there's more than one public high school, since I don't think private schools are included in this version of TCY. Racine Lutheran, St. Catherine's, and Prairie are all private high schools with football teams and none of them are included).

Year 15: 2018
RB Seth Grafton Bowling Green Falcons (RS Sr)
It's a case of too little, too late for Seth as he puts in some effort in the offseason, but it only brings him up to 30/50 and puts him fourth on the Falcons' roster. If only he could've worked harder on matching the potential he had, what a college career he might have had. Still, he's at least gotten to play some, if only as a special teams guy. That's a lot more than can be said for almost all the athletes to come from the Panthers.
DE Jerry Horton University of Texas Longhorns (RS So)
I'd like to be able to say that Jerry finally got off his ass and saw that he has a real opportunity to be a contributor to the Longhorns' line, but alas, he still sits at 6/65, having done squat all summer. What an absolute waste of talent and opportunity. Seth at least had some tough competition. Jerry could've easily been a key part of the rotation. He got lucky last year, but this season he's the fifth best defensive end, so he likely won't play. Frankly, he doesn't deserve to.
G Tyrone Junker University of Wisconsin Badgers (Fr)
As befitting one of the nation's most quality programs, the Badgers are pretty stacked at guard. Tyrone's rated a very disappointing 8/67 and is quite naturally being red-shirted. I don't anticipate him playing any time soon, maybe in two or three years if he bucks the Panther trend and actually commits to improving himself in summers.
K Shannon Ebert
Rated 17. Not going anywhere.
G Rico Lindquist
25 rating? Fat chance, especially since he's the 9th rated guard in the state. It seems like you have to be in the 30s and close to the top 5 in the state to have a shot at getting picked up.
End Season
Another year, another 4-7 mark and 0-fer in out of conference play for the Bowling Green Falcons. A once competitive program has really fallen upon hard times. Seth Grafton had his most successful year ever, finally getting to touch the ball in his senior season as he got on the field a lot and caught 2 passes for 7 yards. He also returned a kickoff for 14 yards and notched 4 special teams tackles. Although he never got to carry the ball, he graduates with a degree in Trigonometry and a 2.79 GPA. He'll become a bartender in Bowling Green, as the A he got in Bartending his senior year has convinced him to get his bartending license. Seth also becomes the first player in Park High history to play his entire college career on a D-1 team.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/grafton.jpg
Ignore the 11 games appeared in for all the seasons except maybe the last one. The total plays is a real measure of how many games he showed up in.
For the third consecutive season, Texas goes 5-6 and the calls for the Longhorns coach to be fired are getting louder and louder. Their program, too, seems to be on the decline. Then again, when you're letting a guy like Jerry Horton play in 8 games, that says a lot. He racked up 5 tackles, 2 for losses, 2 assists, a block, a hurry, and half a sack as he came in overwhelmingly on run plays. Maybe he's better than my scout says, or maybe the staff at Texas is a bunch of idiots. Considering the run of relative futility coinciding with Jerry's arrival, I'm betting on the latter.
Wisconsin blew up with an 10-1 record, losing only to eventual national champion Michigan in Big Ten play. The Wolverines, incidentally, have won 5 of the last 7 national titles and appeared in 6 of the last 7 championship games. During that time, they won four straight titles (2012-2015). Talk about domination! In any case, the Badgers put away New Mexico 28-19 in the Holiday Bowl and Tyrone Junker stayed a redshirt the whole year through.
Year 16: 2019
DE Jerry Horton University of Texas Longhorns (RS Jr)
Jerry finally starts putting in some effort in the offseason and leaps up to 13/66, but the talent at DE has improved enough on the Longhorns that he's buried as the 6th defensive end. You'd think that he won't play this year, but stranger things have certainly happened, like him playing at all the last two seasons.
G Tyrone Junker University of Wisconsin Badgers (RS Fr)
At long last, we have a Panther that breaks with a bad tradition. Tyrone busted his ass off this summer and leapt all the way up to 30/66, making him the fourth best guard on the team and giving him a very real chance at playing this year. Of the two super-talented guards that are starting for the Badgers this season, one's a senior and the other's a junior, so if Tyrone keeps working hard like he has, he could be a starter in a year or two.
Sadly, not a single Park High prospect this year, even a sucky one. We need to get some new lifeblood in the pipeline. I like having two or three players a year to report on.
End Season:
The Longhorns' slide continues as they drop to 4-7 on the year. The entire city of Austin has gone into mourning and at this point, I think Horns Nation would take even a bowl game to restore some of their flagging hopes. Jerry Horton squeezes his way on the field for three games and a grand total of eight plays, in which he notches 3 tackles. I forgot to mention this earlier, but he nearly flunked two classes last year, including his major course. This year, he does much of the same, coming dangerously close to failing the fourth Geology class. With that 2.12 GPA, he'll probably end up a car salesman or something. Jerry's also unhappy with his playing time being cut and is on his second girlfriend. He's still pretty happy with playing for Texas, but not like he used to be.
Wisconsin takes a step back, but still stay afloat with a 6-5 mark and come away with a huge 42-35 upset against Oklahoma in the Independence Bowl. Tyrone Junker unfortunately didn't get to play, but he should get his chance next year. He's understandably unhappy about his lack of playing time, but he's got a 2.70 cumulative GPA after coming close to flunking Geography I his freshman year, so I think he'll turn out okay in the end.

Year 17: 2020
DE Jerry Horton University of Texas Longhorns (RS Sr)
Does Jerry finally bring it together for his last summer and last year of college football? Why, no! He only "improves" to 14/66, which means he's the fourth best DE on the roster thanks to a guy ahead of him getting suspended because of grades. So he'll once again get playing time he doesn't deserve and go down as a major disappointment. Such potential and it was all wasted. He's disillusioned with playing for the Longhorns by the way now and regrets coming to Austin. He hates the classes, hates the losing this once mighty team has gone through since he's been here and doesn't like Austin at all anymore.
G Tyrone Junker University of Wisconsin Badgers (RS So)
After his redshirt breakout, Tyrone improves only slightly this year, up to 31/67. Still, he's the third best guard on the team in terms of rating so he should be one of the top backups and get playing time this year. One of the starters ahead of him graduates after this year, so with any luck, he'll start his junior season.
QB Bobby Crawford
We finally get somebody at the glamour position, but he's rated 16. Even by a Poor scout, he's not going anywhere.
ILB Daniel Snyder
Look, it's the Redskins owner! Okay, not really, but rated 8 by our Decent Scout. He's no T.J. Ellison, that's for sure.
T Ricky Jarvis
One of the most intelligent athletes to come through the Panthers program, he carries 3.06 GPA with a 1063 SAT score. Ranked the 56th best player in the state, 5th at the tackle position. He's got a very good attitude, is rated 33 by our Very Good scout and values equally closeness to home and a good Marketing program. I have a feeling he'll get a scholarship from somebody.
RB Hunter Turnbull
Has the knack for getting extra yardage, but not good for a power running system. Average student with a good attitude, he's ranked 29th in the state, 3rd among Wisconsin running backs. For some preposterous reason, he idolizes UW-Milwaukee, which is a real shame, as he's rated 47 by our Poor scout and is doubtlessly better than advertised. Wants a name school above anything else, with a good Algebra school secondary.
Week 2
Ricky Jarvis gets contacted by Duke. Good sign.
Week 3
Hunter Turnbull is contacted by Kansas and North Carolina State.
Week 4
Sigh. Hunter gets scholarship offers from UW-Eau Claire and UW-Milwaukee. Of course he visits Milwaukee. I'm disgusted. But maybe it's not all bad. Maybe we can actually get a starter out of this then.
Week 6
RB Hunter Turnbull commits to....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/uwmpanthers.jpg
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee!
All I can say is, he'd better damned well be a starter at some point in his collegiate career.
Week 7
Ricky gets a scholarship offer from UW-La Crosse and he visits. It he commits too, it figures. I finally get a year with two bona fide prospects after a long drought and they both appear about to go Sol-8.
Week 11
T Ricky Jarvis commits to....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/UWL.jpg
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Eagles!
Damn. Still, it's not all bad. Both players could have a chance to actually start by going to smaller schools, which would be another step in the efforts to create a football tradition at Park.
End Season
The Longhorns faithful are just sick. Their fifth straight losing season and second consecutive 4-7 mark has them pining for the days of old. Jerry Horton gets on the field for 26 plays and notches 2 tackles, 1 for loss, and 2 hurries. He graduates with a 2.13 GPA, his worst grades ironically in his major. Following graduation, he returns home to Racine where he becomes a telemarketer and brags to everyone about how he went to the University of Texas and was this really awesome player. What a liar and what a wasted talent.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Horton.jpg
Things are much more cheerful in Madison, where the Badgers rebounded from their off year to post a 10-1 record, again their only conference loss to Michigan (the Wolverines went to their fourth straight national title game, where their two-time defending championship streak was snapped by UCLA in a rematch of the 2018 title game). Although Wisconsin lost to Georgia 27-17 in the Cotton Bowl, Tyrone Junker is happy again. He appeared in all of the Badgers' games and while he was only 1/7 in Key Run Block Opportunities, he didn't give up a sack in 48 pass plays. Tyrone also improved his GPA to 2.84.
UW-Milwaukee is even worse than UW-La Crosse, having posted just one winning season thus far in this universe. That was two years ago, with a 6-5 record. They went 4-7 this season.
The Eagles last had a winning record in 2016, what would've been Luther "Juniorer" Seau's senior season. That, like the Panthers' only plus-.500 season, was 6-5. UW-L was a ghastly 2-9 this year and here's to hoping our Panthers prospects can bring some level of respectability to the woeful UW programs.
Hunter Turnball set a new Park High record with 728 rushing yards, for what it's worth.
Year 18: 2021
G Tyrone Junker University of Wisconsin Badgers (RS Jr)
Tyrone tore a muscle in his shoulder over the summer and as a result, dropped to 28/66, falling all the way to the fifth guard. That's how tight the competition is in Madison. Sadly, he might have lost his chance to ever be a starter now, as currently even after graduations this year, there's still three guys ahead of him. Hopefully he can rebound.
RB Hunter Turnball UW-Milwaukee Panthers (Fr)
It's one crowded backfield in Milwaukee, surprising for how bad the team is. Hunter's rated 17/55 and has the second best upside of the underclassmen backs on these college Panthers. That being said, he's going to have to really put in the time and effort to catch up to the glut of guys who are better developed than he is.
T Ricky Jarvis UW-La Crosse Eagles (Fr)
The talent level at tackle on the Eagles is putrid, so much so that at 10/41, Ricky's tied for third current on the team. He's still being red-shirted however, which can only help him get an opportunity to really put himself heads and shoulders above the rest of the crap that's there.
TE Travis Duncan
5 rating? Yeah, Destination: Nowheresville.
FB Shaun Kimbrough
Normally when there's a flurry of talent, the next few years are devoid of anything, so I'm pleasantly surprised to see this guy. Rated as the 45th best fullback in the country, he's ranked 36th in Wisconsin and tops in the state. Could we finally have our first All-State player? He's rated 40 by our Poor scout and primarily a run blocker, though he has a great YPC through 4 games of high school ball. His academic record is ho-hum and he values name and Marketing program equally.
Week 2
A familiar face shows up as Bowling Green makes contact, but it's UW-Eau Claire that gives Shaun a scholarship offer.
Week 3
Tulsa rushes in with a scholarship offer, putting the Golden Hurricane in the lead according to teh internets.
Week 4
Shaun gets a contact from Mississippi State.
Week 5
An all-out battle is shaping up as Iowa jumps in with a scholarship offer. All signs are still pointing to Tulsa, however.
Week 6
FB Shaun Kimbrough becomes Park High's first ever All-State player! His final senior stats: 55 rushes, 392 yards, 7.12 ypc, 1 TD and 34 catches, 459 yards, 13.5 ypc, and 8 TDs. He also recorded 38 tackles and a sack playing at linebacker. Congratulations, Shaun!
Week 7
Hot off the heels of his All-State award, Shaun gets a scholarship offer from UNLV, but the Runnin' Rebels are far behind Tulsa in the rumour mill, despite Vegas's temptations.
Week 8
The clock is winding down for other schools to get in on the action, as Shaun visits UW-Eau Claire, Tulsa, Iowa, and UNLV this week. Just one more school can get a visit. Who will step up? Bowling Green, who's had a Panther previously?
Week 11
Time's up! FB Shaun Kimbrough, the Panthers' first All-State player, commits to....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/uwec.jpg
The UW-Eau Claire Blugolds!
...You have got to be kidding me. We'll finally be at the point where we have four Panthers playing college football and three of them are in the Sol-8, all of them playing for state schools. Oh well, it'll be interesting seeing how these guys play against each other. Heh, I complained to my mom that I finally got an All-State player from Park and he committed to her alma mater. She laughed and thought it was great.
End Season:
Wisconsin ends up 9-2 behind Penn State and Michigan, who played each other in the national title game. (The Nittany Lions won, led by Heisman Trophy winning QB Melvin Mclaughlin). The Badgers prove the strength of the Big Ten by absolutely squashing Virginia Tech 38-8 in the Cotton Bowl. As anticipated, Tyrone Junker didn't play this year.
UW-Milwaukee goes 3-8, as does UW-La Crosse. Both our guys keep their redshirts. UW-Eau Claire was last and least at 1-10. How have the Blugolds done historically in this universe? Two winning seasons, both of the 6-5 variety, the last of which was all the way back in 2008. Pathetically enough, their one win this season was better than the last two years, when they were 0-11. As a matter of fact, the Blugolds have the ignoble distinction of four 0-11 seasons and three 1-win seasons in this universe's history. Folks, you can't buy that kind of futility even if you're the Oakland Raiders.
In other Sol-8 news, Lawrence University becomes the first Sol-8 school in this universe's history to play in something other than a minor bowl game when they make it all the way to the Sugar Bowl. The Florida Gators promptly knock the fuck out of the upstart Vikings 45-10 and remind them of their proper place. By the way, I don't like Lawrence. It's got a great reputation in the state, but when I visited the campus, it just depressed the hell out of me.
That's all until next time! Will we finally see a Park High alum starting in college? We'll just have to wait and see.

My favorite dynasty of all time was with Ohio University. When I took over that school from a Sol-8 team, I had a stud RB who was from Centennial High School in Ellicott City in Maryland. It so happened that when I looked in Maryland two years later, there was another RB and a LB who were both rated in the Top 100. Every year I would check it out to see and there was a lot of Div 1 talent that would pass through and I would get every one. I don't think there wa sa time where I didnt have less then two kids from that school and a few of them went on to college immortality

Year 19: 2022
G Tyrone Junker University of Wisconsin Badgers (RS Sr)
After the injury last offseason, Tyrone became motivated to make one last push to finally be a starter. And following a grueling summer workout regimen, he appears to have achieved it. He jumped all the way up to 39/66, the second best guard on the team, so there's a very good chance he'll be a starter. NFL prospects are cloudy at best, but we'll see what happens.
RB Hunter Turnbull UW-Milwaukee Panthers (RS Fr)
Hunter looks like a bust of the Jerry Horton variety. He didn't put any work in during his redshirt year and declined to 15/55. Want the bad news? The Panthers drafted two hotshot freshmen who are red-shirting. Turnbull, already buried on the depth chart, is a good candidate to get cut next season.
T Ricky Jarvis UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Fr)
Ricky made real positive gains in the summer, going up to 20/41, but the rest of the linemen made strides too. Thanks to the Eagles' top tackle, a true junior, getting suspended because of grades, Ricky's the top backup and should see some playing time, a role he'll likely reprise next season as a man ahead of him graduates. All indicators are excellent that he'll be starting by his junior year.
FB Shaun Kimbrough UW-Eau Claire Blugolds (Fr)
16/73 gives him the highest upside of any fullback on the roster and third in terms of current. If he wants it bad enough, he can work his way up to top backup or even starting role as early as his redshirt freshman year.
OLB Scottie Fisk
13 rating? Yeah, okay.
WR Conrad Woods
His 700 SAT score and poor attitude are huge red flags, but he's the 61st best player in the state, 8th by position. 38 rating by a good scout, his best attribute is the toughness he shows in fighting through crowds to catch the ball. Not very good at extra yardage after that, however. 16 receptions for 417 yards and a TD through four games. Prestige and closeness are equally important.
T Matt Bruce
6'7", 279 pound beast is the 639th player in the country, 61st best tackle, the 12th ranked player in the state and Wisconsin's #2 tackle. Has a poor attitude and not the brightest guy around, but he's a 62 rated (VG scout) road eater who can really power a running game. The latest in what is fast becoming a tradition of talented Panthers' offensive linemen. Not likely to be as coveted as Tyrone Junker, but could bring the same type of talent to a program. Wants a name school above all else, academics a secondary interest.
Week 2
Matt gets contacted by UW-Parkside and UW-Green Bay and an offer comes to him from Lakeland College in Sheybogan, WI. They actually do have a football team in real life and the awesome team name of the Muskies. Much to my surprise, I see that there's a Panther playing for Lakeland. I check, and lo and behold, T.J. Ellison started three games his freshman year in 2018 for the Muskies. He's rated 12/23, though and hasn't played beyond that first year. He's also a senior this season and never did get a scholarship.
That means I've probably missed other walk-ons, too. Damn it! Well, okay, new rule: This dynasty will only follow those players who get a scholarship or who I know for sure are walking on somewhere. Nice to see T.J. get some college playing time, though. I always said he should've been able to go somewhere.
Week 3
It didn't take long for schools to circulating around Matt, who gets a scholarship offer from UW-Green Bay and contacts from Houston, San Diego State, and South Florida.
Week 4
Memphis makes contact with Matt and UW-Parkside extends a scholarship. Let's get some non Sol-8 offers in there too, eh?
Week 8
Matt visits UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee who came through with a scholarship offer this week, UW-Parkside, and Lakeland. It looks like he's going to be in the Sol-8. Current speculation has him going to the Phoenix in Green Bay.
Week 9
Congratulations to Matt Bruce as he becomes Park's second All-State player, giving the Panthers an All-State player in two consecutive seasons! Maryland makes contact and New Mexico gives him a walk-on offer.
Week 10
South Carolina makes contact with Conrad Woods and Matt's mail comes with a walk-on invite from Maryland as well as a scholarship offer from West Virginia. Matt immediately goes to Morgantown to check the campus out.
Week 11
The Gamecocks pull off of Woods, but Matt Bruce has made his decision. He will go to....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/uwgb.gif
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix!
No surprise here. For once, teh internets gossip mill is right. Wow, lot of guys playing for UW schools these next few years.
Conference Championship Week
Conrad gets a walk-on offer from East Carolina. Must be something those Carolina schools really like about Mr. Woods.
Minor Bowl Week
I spoke too soon. The Pirates withdraw. He'll walk on somewhere though, so I'll look for him next season. 965 receiving yards means he don't suck none. (A Park High record, by the way).
End Season
Wisconsin goes 9-2 before losing a heartbreaker 19-16 to Colorado State in the Holiday Bowl. Tyrone Junker starts all 12 games and is 18/60 in KRB for a 30% rate and allows just 3 sacks. No awards, but a solid senior year and the very first Panther to become a true starter at the D-1 level! Tyrone graduates with a 2.56 GPA in Geology and will be investigating his NFL prospects.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/junker.jpg
UW-Milwaukee has a surprisingly successful season at 5-6, but that's probably because Hector Turnbull's lazy ass didn't play.
UW-La Crosse puts in a 4-7 showing and Ricky Jarvis plays sparingly in every game throughout the season, recording 2 key run blocks in 7 chances and not surrendering a sack.
UW-Eau Claire has another wretched season, going 1-10, but resist the temptation to pull Shaun Kimbrough's redshirt.
The NFL draft comes... and Tyrone Junker made the cut! Here's the scouting report:
RG Tyrone Junker University of Wisconsin-Madison (Sr)
6'1" 293 lbs
Became a starter in his senior season after coming back from a shoulder injury that set him back his junior year. Played extremely well for a talented Badgers offensive line unit and doesn't have a lot of mileage on him.
Positives: Shows respectable technique in run blocking. Has a fighter's mentality and a staunch work ethic that allowed him to make huge gains in his final year. 5.12 40 time was okay for a lineman.
Negatives: Not as good a pass blocker. Really needs to work on his blocking strength if he wants to be effective at the next level. Did only 23 reps at the combine. Doesn't have the greatest endurance. Very little upside.
Outlook: If he sticks, it will be as an average-level backup at right guard. Doesn't project as a starter even in the most optimistic conditions. 7th rounder or UDFA.
Final Grade 3.4 (3.2 Adjusted)
Unfortunately, Tyrone didn't get selected, but he did sign a one year deal with the Chicago Bears!
We have our first Park Panther in the NFL!!!!

Year 20: 2023
RG Tyrone Junker Chicago Bears (Rookie UDFA)
Tyrone is absolutely thrilled to be playing in the NFL, especially in Chicago where he's close to Racine. Gene Tibbets, 9th year veteran, is a mentor, which bodes well for Tyrone's development. But most wonderful and shocking of all is that the Bears' staff was impressed enough with Tyrone's performance in the preseason to have Tibbets play over on the left guard spot and nameTyrone as the starting RG for the Bears to open the season! We have our first NFL starter!
In truth it's probably not deserved, as Tyrone's rated 15/26, but who knows? Maybe he can surprise.
The Bears have been pretty bad in this universe. In 17 seasons, they have a 117-155 franchise record and have only been to the playoffs four times, the last of which happened last season, where they made it to the NFC Championship before losing to the Minnesota Vikings. Incidentally, that was the furthest Chicago's ever made it in the playoffs. Can a Super Bowl ring be far behind?
RB Hunter Turnbull UW-Milwaukee Panthers (RS So)
We finally see some effort from Hunter as he goes up to 21/55, but he's fourth on the depth chart, hated by his teammates, getting killed in the classroom and really regretting his decision to go to Milwaukee. There really isn't much hope for him, I fear.
T Ricky Jarvis UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS So)
Ricky continues to really impress the coaching staff with his fierce work ethic as he polevaults up to 33/41, securing a starting spot on the team even before the team's best tackle gets himself suspended for grades again (different player this time though). His fellow starter is a senior and the suspended tackle is a junior. The players underneath him all suck the big one, so things are looking fantastic for Ricky to be a three-year starter for the Eagles.
FB Shaun Kimbrough UW-Eau Claire Blugolds (RS Fr)
Now 27/73, he's the top fullback on the roster and so should be a four year starter with little difficulty. If he can reach his potential, he'll be an incredible NFL prospect.
T Matt Bruce UW-Green Bay Phoenix (Fr)
At 8/71, Matt's got tremendous upside, but unfortunately the two starters are underclassmen (true soph, RS junior) and there's a numbers battle to be had. Most of the backups are thankfully really bad currently, so there's a very good chance Matt could work his way into the rotation as early as next season.
I decided not to look for Conrad Woods, especially not with that SAT score.
OLB William Kieta
18 rating? Yeah okay.
TE Tyrell Spurlock
81st best player in the state, 6th best TE. Decent attitude, shaky academics. Good hands, but gets lost in a crowd. Rated 39 by our Decent Scout, he values name and closeness equally. A fair chance of signing on somewhere.
Week 12
Tyrell gets a walk-on offer from Wyoming!
Week 14
Baylor issues Tyrell a walk-on offer as well.
Minor Bowl Week
TE Tyrell Spurlock has made a decision! He will be attending....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Football/Wyoming.gif
The University of Wyoming Cowboys!!!
There are not words enough to describe just how damn cool it is that a Park Panther will be playing at War Memorial Stadium for the Cowboys. Sure he's only a walk-on, but maybe he can fight his way to a scholarship.
End Season:
UW-Milwaukee puts in a competitive 5-6 season and Hunter Turnbull records 6 tackles in special teams play, the only action he sees on the field. He's dangerously close to flunking one of his classes, too and currently has a 1.98 GPA and no girlfriend.
UW-La Crosse struggles to another 4-7 record as the Eagles just can't seem to fly. Ricky Jarvis starts all 11 games, but is surprisingly ineffective, 9/37 on key run blocks (23.3%) and allowing 11 sacks. It's clear that he's no Tyrone Junker.
The poor, poor Blugolds. Another black mark in their history as they finish 0-11. Then again, they wasted Shaun Kimbrough and only put him in for a special teams play here and there in two games, so it's not surprising.
UW-Green Bay, on the other hand, stunned everyone by beating the tar out of the rest of the Sol-8, turning a 7-0 conference mark into a conference title and 10-1 regular season record. The Phoenix gave Utah State fits in the New Orleans Bowl before losing 17-14. What a great, great season. Matt Bruce retained his redshirt and posted a respectable 2.54 GPA.
The University of Wyoming Cowboys are one of the top 5 worst teams in this universe. Their 31-189 all-time record is above only Duke, (24 wins), East Carolina (16 wins), and Buffalo (12 wins). They've never had a winning season, much less been to a bowl game. In fact, the Cowboys are so terrible that their last three seasons of 3-8 records is the team's highest achievement. Now that's some seriously bad football right there.
The Chicago Bears go 9-7 and return to the playoffs. They throw a major scare into the heavily favored Seattle Seahawks before falling 23-20. Tyrone Junker started all 16 games in the regular season and in the lone playoff game. He was 12/44 in key run blocks (27.3%) and gave up just 6 sacks. Very nice performance for a rookie, but it remains to be seen if the Bears will re-sign him.
They in fact do not and nobody else picks him up either.
Year 21: 2024
RG Tyrone Junker Free Agent (2nd season)
Tyrone's up to 17/25 and he's a former starter for a playoff team, but so far nobody's willing to pick up the phone and call him. He said in an interview with the Racine Journal Times that he's okay if he never gets to play in the NFL again, that just having the chance to play, be a starter, and make the postseason was a fantastic experience, one he wouldn't trade for anything. If he does end up retiring, the Chicago Bears will be his favorite team for the rest of his life for the chance that they gave him.
RB Hunter Turnbull UW-Milwaukee Panthers (RS Jr)
He continues working, to where he's up to 24/55, but Hunter's demoted down to RB #5 on the Panthers' depth chart. What a mistake it was for him to go to Milwaukee. Oh well, maybe life after college will be kinder to him.
T Ricky Jarvis UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Jr)
Ricky got a lot of criticism after his poor play last year and it motivated him to work even harder, to where he's up to 36/41. He'll once again start, but it appears that he's more or less reached the ceiling of his modest talents. The Eagles' o-line situation isn't helped by the fact that Mr. Top Tackle who was suspended last year for grades is again out this year due to academics.
FB Shaun Kimbrough UW-Eau Claire Blugolds (RS So)
Shaun was furious at being passed over last season and worked hard in the offseason to put distance between him and his competition. At 34/73, he appears to have done that and firmly won the starting job that should've been his last season. Then again, who knows with the Blugolds staff?
T Matt Bruce UW-Green Bay Phoenix (RS Fr)
Wow, did Matt ever bust his ass. He polevaulted up to 24/72 and appears to have locked down the top backup job. Unfortunately there's a superstar freshman redshirting this year (31/91) who will likely keep Matt out of the starting lineup next year, but by his RS junior season he should be able to muscle his way into the starters' unit.
TE Tyrell Spurlock University of Wyoming Cowboys (Fr)
Our first non Sol-8 player in quite a while, Tyrell is surprisingly polished at 22/65, but he's still way behind the other TEs on the roster, all but one of whom is also a walk-on, interestingly enough. He does have the most upside of anyone on the roster and he could see playing time by his RS sophomore year.
ILB Xavier Dercher
16 rating? Um, sure.
End Season:
UW-Milwaukee runs off its first winning season in a long time with a 7-4 record. True, they didn't get to a bowl game, but the Panthers are back on the prowl. Hunter Turnbull doesn't get on the field, to no one's surprise.
UW-La Crosse improves to 5-6 and Ricky Jarvis improves exponentially, 25/76 on key run blocks (32.8%) while surrendering just 3 sacks. That performance is good enough for him to be named to the Sol-8 All-Conference 2nd Team!, the first Park Panther to receive All-Conference honors.
UW-Eau Claire bumbles their way through a 1-10 season and Shaun Kimbrough inexplicably appears in just one game as a special teamer. He's furious and there's a very good chance that he'll leave the Blugolds next season.
The Phoenix rise again with a 9-2 record, only to be unfairly denied a bowl bid. Matt Bruce appears in 9 games and is a horrible 1/12 in key run blocks (8.3%) with one sack allowed. Not what we expected out of him at all, but maybe he'll show a Ricky Jarvis-style improvement.
Wyoming ends its 3-8 trilogy with a 2-9 mark. Tyrell Spurlock stays red-shirted and does lousy in the classroom.
Tyrone Junker isn't signed and he ends up retiring with one unforgetable season to his credit.

Year 22: 2025
RB Hunter Turnbull UW-Milwaukee Panthers (RS Sr)
Another year, another season as the fifth back on the roster for Hunter, who got up to 28/55. He might've been the best back in Park High history without question, but now, very soon, there will be strong controversy over who the best one has been. A sad, sad story. At least he's happy again and has a new girlfriend.
T Ricky Jarvis UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Sr)
Fresh off his Sol-8 All-Conference 2nd Team selection, Ricky shows he's ready to take the conference by storm as he makes the single greatest rocket in current and potential a Panther's ever made, from 36/41 to 58/58 in one year. Wow, just goes to show you what being an All-Conference player can get you. He's far and away the Eagles' best tackle and if UW-L hopes to do something, they've got to do it this year as their top tackles are both seniors and the cupboard is Hubbard-bare after this season.
FB Shaun Kimbrough UW-Eau Claire Blugolds (RS Jr)
At 36/73, Shaun's the best fullback on the roster and nobody around him has started a game. Will he finally get his due and the job that should've been his two seasons ago? If he doesn't, expect him to leave the team in disgust and not return for his senior year, possibly even transferring.
T Matt Bruce UW-Green Bay Phoenix (RS So)
That superstud freshman from last season did jack his redshirt year, whereas Matt kept up his training, going up to 29/72 and putting him in place to be a starter this season. If he manages it, between him, Ricky Jarvis and former Wisconsin Badger and NFL'er Tyrone Junker, Park High will continue building their growing tradition and reputation for quality Panthers' offensive linemen.
TE Tyrell Spurlock University of Wyoming Cowboys (RS Fr)
Tyrell bumps up to 29/65 and is positioned as the third tight end on the Cowboys' roster. Whether or not that'll be enough to get him some playing time is unknown, but at least he's put himself right in the mix at his position.
CB Charlie Harper
The relatively recent run of Panthers greats continues and this time it's not an offensive lineman! Harper is ranked the 457th best player in the country, 27th best corner, 3rd best player in the state and the unquestioned top cornerback in Wisconsin. He has the glitzy stats to back that up too, with 18 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 5 interceptions through four games. With a 73 rating by our very good scout, he might well be the most promising prospect ever to walk through the doors of 1901 12th Street. Mediocre academics, but a good attitude. He wants to stay close to home and play at a name school alike. Can we say Madison? I think we can. Our scout, interestingly enough, rates him as best in kick returning, weakest at intercepting passes.
Week 2
UW-Milwaukee runs in with a scholarship offer. Yeah, like he's even going to consider that one.
Week 3
Rice makes contact.
Week 4
Fresno State makes contact. Come on guys, get some offers in!
Week 5
Charlie visits UW-Milwaukee and I'm getting a combination of scared and pissed. I do not want another Sol-8 player.
Week 6
Congratulations, Charlie Harper! With 44 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and an incredible 16 interceptions in the regular season, he's been named Park's latest All-State player! Boise State makes contact, Louisiana-Monroe invites him to be a walk-on, and Marshall makes contact.
Week 7
Marshall makes a walk-on offer. No, lads. We need scholarships! I only hope Madison pulls a fast one with a last-minute scholarship offer like what happened with Tyrone Junker.
Week 8
Yes! The Broncos of Boise State come through with a scholarship. You love that blue field, right Charlie boy?
Week 9
Wow. Just wow. This is the first time in Park High history I've ever seen the slate get wiped clean and a player's visits filled up. The five finalists are: Arkansas State, Boise State, Marshall, UW-Milwaukee, and UW-Marathon County in Wausau, WI, which in real life has no athletic program, because it's a freaking extension. Why it's in the game for the Sol-8 in Wisconsin and why Racine is in the Sol-8 for Wisconsin (I cheated and said UW-Parkside for Racine, even though it's in Somers/Kenosha, not Racine) when neither one have four year universities I don't know. Jim, I'm looking at you.
Anyway, scuttlebutt says Arkansas State.
Week 11
Dun dun dun! CB Charlie Harper decides! He'll be playing for....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/uwmpanthers.jpg
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers!
There are not words enough to describe my disgust right now. Oh well, at least it wasn't UW-Marathon County  Seriously, I don't know even wtf team name to give an extension. I can't cheat and use a close city either, because what's the closest city? Appleton, which is A) already in here and B) is hogging Lawrence University.
Ah well. Sim on!
End Season:
The rat bastard UW-Milwaukee Panthers have their second straight winning season at 6-5, making it all the more likely they'll pull top Panthers recruits  At least they didn't make a bowl game. Hunter Turnbull makes a strong case for being consider the best Park High back when he becomes the first Panther to actually carry the ball in college. 13 rushes for 44 yards may not be much, but it's something. He also caught 2 passes for 33 yards.and returned a punt for 9 yards, along with recording a special teams tackle.
Oh and I lied about last season. He did get on the field, returning a punt and two kickoffs.
Hunter graduates with a 1.84 GPA and he'll return home to Racine where he'll work for Jerry Horton's telemarketing firm.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/turnbull.jpg
The UW-La Crosse Eagles sputter to a 4-7 record, but that's no surprise. Ricky Jarvis has a surprisingly ineffective season, 11/58 on key run blocks (18.9%) while giving up 5 sacks. This may have damaged his pro prospects or the scouts could recognize that it's simply a case of having really shitty linemates. In any case, Ricky will get his Marketing degree with a 2.84 GPA and definitely investigate an NFL career, for he's the best player at the college level Park has ever had, the lone one to earn All-Conference honors at this point.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Jarvis-1.jpg
UW-Eau Claire finishes their usual dreadful season with a 1-10 showing and of course are dumb enough to only give Shaun Kimbrough a couple special teams plays. Fucking idiot Blugolds. I don't understand and it pisses me off. I'll look for Shaun's name in the draft next year though.
UW-Green Bay continues its modest run of success with a 7-4 record, but once again no bowl game. The Phoenix have a smart coaching staff that starts Matt Bruce and he rewards them with a monster season. 25/69 on key run blocks (36.2%) and giving up 7 sacks. Despite this splendid campaign, he gets screwed out of All-Conference honors.
The surprise team of the year is undoubtedly the Wyoming Cowboys, who not only go 6-5 to post their first winning mark in school history, but who sneak into the Music City Bowl with an at-large bid. Stanford promptly whomps them 47-0 as the Cardinal remind the Cowboys they're a one-season wonder. Tyrell Spurlock showed up on the field for a smattering of plays, catching 2 balls for 30 yards and recording 3 special teams tackles. About what's to be expected from a third string tight end.
Much to my shock, T Ricky Jarvis doesn't make the NFL draft pool. Evidently that terrible senior season really did spoil his pro prospects. :(

Year 24: 2026
FB Shaun Kimbrough UW-Eau Claire Blugolds (RS Sr)
Shaun returns for his senior year and is 37/73, but does anybody really think the Blugolds are going to start him? I didn't think so either. It's a damn shame, because he might have had a brilliant career.
T Matt Bruce UW-Green Bay Phoenix (RS Jr)
Another offseason, another set of impressive gains for Matt, who's now 45/72. Although he was greatly disappointed to hear that Ricky Jarvis didn't make the NFL draft, he's hoping that through this season and next, he'll show pro scouts enough that he'll make the pool cut. He's still the top tackle on the Phoenix in terms of Current.
TE Tyrell Spurlock University of Wyoming Cowboys (RS So)
Tyrell's up to 32/65, but still third on the roster. The good news is that one of the tight ends ahead of him is a senior and the other one broke his fibula in the offseason and will be out seven weeks, thus paving the way for Tyrell to get some more reps.
CB Charlie Harper UW-Milwaukee Panthers (Fr)
Charlie's 20/55, surprisingly low upside given his pedigree. He could probably be the dime back right now, but the Panthers are playing it smart and redshirting him. Curiously enough, he has the second-lowest upside of any of the CBs on UW-M's roster.
No Park High prospects this year. In fact, only two in all of Racine and they're both from Case.
End Season:
Gee, look at that. UW-Eau Claire goes 0-11. And guess what? Shaun Kimbrough once again is limited to maybe a couple special teams plays. Unreal. That's okay, though. He flunked two classes this year but talked into his way into graduation anyway despite his 1.57 GPA. Maybe he'll make the draft pool as a diamond in the rough, but it isn't likely. My guess is he'll end up getting a job with a marketing firm somewhere, as he did great in his major.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Kimbrough.jpg
UW-Green Bay goes 10-1 and finally gets back to a bowl game, where Rice takes full advantage of having the home field, cleaning their clock 41-13 in the Houston Bowl. Matt Bruce has another fine runblocking year at 43/114 (37.7%) while surrendering 8 sacks. It's one more than the prior year, but that's with the extra bowl game included. Matt also finally gets his due as he's named to the Sol-8 All-Conference 1st Team!, our second All-Conference player in Park High history and the first to make the first team.
Wyoming returns to earth with a 3-8 record, but Tyrell Spurlock starts two games, appearing in nine. He catches 3 balls for 39 yards and is 0/5 on key run blocks. He also picked up a special teams tackle.
UW-Milwaukee has their string of success come to an end with a 4-7 showing and Charlie Harper stays redshirted all year.
As expected, FB Shaun Kimbrough doesn't make the draft pool.
Year 25: 2027
T T Matt Bruce UW-Green Bay Phoenix (RS Sr)
What does an All-Conference 1st team tackle look like? 54/72, that's what he looks like. If Matt can put in another fantastic year, the scouts might come calling and we may actually see him in the draft pool. With his upside and performance, he beats even Ricky Jarvis as the Panthers' top tackle in history.
TE Tyrell Spurlock University of Wyoming Cowboys (RS Jr)
Still no scholarship, but at 34/65, he's earned the right to legimately be the top backup at his position and given that the probable starter is a senior, Tyrell might be able to start his senior year.
CB Charle Harper UW-Milwaukee Panthers (RS Fr)
Charlie really hit the weights and films this summer, jumping up to 34/55, which is good enough to put him in contention to be the second starter. At the very least, he'll be the nickelback. Maybe UW-M was the right move for him after all.
T Edgar Schulz
18 rating? Not a chance.
End Season:
The Phoenix win the Sol-8 with a 9-2 record, but as is typical for UW-Green Bay, they're wrongfully denied a bowl game as UW-Parkside gets picked instead. Still, Matt Bruce has to be happy with his senior year. He was 27/85 in key run blocks (31.7%) and didn't allow a single sack all season long, as he really focused on his pass protection. That stellar performance was good enough for him to repeat on the Sol-8 All-Conference 1st Team, our first repeat All-Conference player in Park High history. You'd think he'd get a shot in the draft now. In any case, he unquestionably replaces Ricky Jarvis as the finest collegiate player in Panthers' history.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/bruce.jpg
Wyoming again goes 3-8 and this time Tyrell Spurlock appears in all 11 games, catching 8 passes for 139 yards, dropping one and going 2/4 on key run blocks. He also has, over the last few years, gotten special teams tackles that I havent' mentioned because they're so minor and he's actually getting PT.
UW-Milwaukee recovers the winning magic with their 6-5 season and Charlie Harper plays a small role in that. In 11 games as the nickel back, he records 16 tackles (2 TFL), 3 assists and 4 passes defensed (20.2%). He also returned 16 kickoffs for a 23.0 average and really looks to be possibly developing into a multi-faceted player. His 3.20 GPA is the highest we've ever seen for a Park player. Let's see if he keeps it up.
The draft pool comes.... and T Matt Bruce made it! Here's the scouting report:
LT Matt Bruce UW-La Crosse Eagles (Sr)
6'7" 318 lbs
Tall, big tackle who was a two-time Sol-8 All-Conference 1st Team player. Not as strong as one of his height and size should be (24 reps), nor much speed (5.24 40). Excellent run blocker in college, more suited to the right side. Could potentially break out into something unexpected (98 Vol), but it's more likely he'll wash out over a year or two. Really needs to improve blocking strength and pass blocking technique. Not much endurance either. 33% development means he has a little upside, but not much.
Projection: Backup right tackle if he makes it. 7th round or UDFA.
Final Grade: 3.4 (3.7 Adjusted)
Matt isn't drafted, but he signs a 1 year UDFA deal with the New Orleans Saints and makes it as the top backup at LT! We have our second NFL player in Park High history!

Racine Park High 25th Anniversary All-Time Panthers Team
QB: Bobby Crawford (2020)
RB Seth Grafton (2012) Bowling Green Falcons
Starred for Park and went on to Bowling Green, where he played very little until his senior season. Noted for his work ethic and overachieving. Seth, now 33, owns The Falcon's Nest, a bar in Bowling Green. He's married to Lucinda and they have one child, a daughter named Sarah.
FB Shaun Kimbrough (2021) UW-Eau Claire Blugolds
The first All-State player in Park High history, he was inexplicably ignored by the Blugolds coaching staff during his college years, leading to much bitterness and a vow on the part of the Panthers coaches to actively discourage any prospect from attending UW-EC. Shaun now works for a marketing firm in Milwaukee and is the running backs coach for Milwaukee Vincent High.
TE Tyrell Spurlock (2023) University of Wyoming Cowboys
A walk-on in Laramie, Tyrell is entering his senior season with the Cowboys as the probable starter. Largely unheralded as a member of the early 20s' powerhouse Panther teams, he's the epitome of what can happen if you work hard.
WR: Conrad Woods (2022)
WR: Herb Hammonds (2008)
C Luther "Juniorer" Seau (2011) UW-La Crosse Eagles
The first Panther to receive a Divison I scholarship, Seau never played a down for the Eagles and left the team in his senior year. He married Lynn, his college sweetheart, shortly after graduation and currently sells insurance in Minneapolis, MN.
G Tyrone Junker (2017) Wisconsin Badgers, Chicago Bears
One of the greatest players ever to put on a Panther uniform and the school's first athlete to make the NFL, Tyrone started at right guard for one year for the Chicago Bears, when they last made the postseason. Had it not been for a shoulder injury his junior year in college, he might have had a longer NFL career. Tyrone now works for a landscaping firm in Madison and is a fierce supporter of his beloved Bears.
G: Brian Blackburn (2013)
T Matt Bruce (2022) UW-Green Bay Phoenix, New Orleans Saints
The only other Park alum to make the NFL, Matt is entering his rookie season with the Saints as their backup tackle after the greatest college career yet by a Panther. A three-year starter at left tackle for the Phoenix, he was a two-time Sol-8 All-Conference First Team selection.
T Ricky Jarvis (2020) UW-La Crosse Eagles
Classic overachiever who was Park's first-ever All-Conference selection when he made the Sol-8 All-Conference Second team his junior year. Works for a marketing firm in La Crosse and coaches linemen at La Crosse Logan High.
DE Jerry Horton (2015) University of Texas Longhorns
The first Panther to see extensive playing time at the collegiate level, his Longhorn years occurred during a fallow period in UT-Austin's storied history. He's presently married and owns a telemarketing company here in Racine.
DT: None
DE: Craig Desai (2014)
OLB: William Kieta (2023)
ILB: Danny Fields (2004)
ILB: T.J. Ellison (2016)
OLB: Scottie Fisk (2022)
CB Charlie Harper (2025) UW-Milwaukee Panthers
The third All-State player in the history of Park's program, Charlie's entering his sophomore season with UW-M, where he hopes to be a starter after having served as the nickelback in his redshirt freshman year.
CB: Sammy Burnett (2005)
S: Phillip McPike (2011)
S: None
K:Burt Largent (2017)
P: Lincoln Zimmerman (2006)
Note: This All-Time Panthers list will be updated every 25 years. Hard to believe that we haven't had a single DT prospect in the first 25 years. Interesting to note as well that Charlie Harper is the lone defensive player to officially make the D-1 level (I'm not counting T.J. Ellison. Hopefully we get a worthwhile QB soon or heck even an NFL skill position prospect.
Year 26: 2028:
LT Matt Bruce New Orleans Saints UDFA (Rookie)
Rated 11/22 by my scout, his stay looks like a one and done similiar to Tyrone Junker as I said. On the bright side, he's the top backup at LT and the guy ahead of him is not only a mentor, but a two-time All-Pro 1st Teamer. That can only bode well for his development.
TE Tyrell Spurlock University of Wyoming Cowboys (RS Sr)
He's battled his way to 40/66 and though he never did get his scholarship, he's put in dues over the years and is now the probable starting TE for the Cowboys. Will he make the NFL draft pool? There's a very slim outside chance.
CB Charlie Harper UW-Milwaukee Panthers (RS So)
I haven't seen a jump like this since Ricky Jarvis. Charlie goes on a tear in the offseason and comes in with a beaut of a 51/54 rating, which is enough to make him the #2 CB and a likely starter.
T R.J. Applewhite
Cool name. 2 rating sucks. Goodbye!
QB Marco Roach
My prayers have been answered! He's got crappy academics and a lousy attitude, but he's the 47th best player in the state and the 3rd best QB in Wisconsin. Terribly inaccuracte passer right now (41.1%), but has 7 TDs:2 INTs. Our terrible scout rates him 44 and says he's good at timing receivers, but needs serious work at avoiding throwing interceptions. I sure hope he gets a chance to start at the D-1 level. Highly prizes a name school, preferably one that's close to home.
Week 3:
Illinois makes contact. Big Ten eh? That'd be intriguing.
Week 4
Wow! Alabama and Illinois both offer scholarships. Then again considering they have 45 and 48 prestige respectively, something tells me they're not very good in this universe. :D
Week 5
Ugh. That shitstain school, UW-Eau Claire, makes an offer and he's visiting. Come on, Marco, Illinois's closer and has more prestige.
Week 6
Mississippi and Rutgers make contact. Marco finishes with 1419 yards passing, a 41.9% completion percentage, and 16 TDs to 8 picks. He also rushes 30 times for 120 yards. Needless to say, he doesn't make the All-State team.
Week 7:
Rutgers drops contact, Mississippi extends a scholarship. Internet scuttlebutt has him going to UW-EC because he visited there first, but I'm still hoping for Illinois.
Week 8:
A decision has been made! QB Marco Roach, the greatest Panther ever to play the position, will be attending...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/uwec.jpg
The UW-Eau Claire Blugolds!
Ugh! Mom's alma mater steals yet another player I was excited to have. All I gotta say is, he better damned well start there at some point in his college life.
End Season:
Wyoming has a competitive season but fall short of a winning record at 5-6. Tyrell Spurlock starts all year and catches 23 balls for 294 yards and 3 TDs. He was also 3/13 (23.0%) on key run blocks. Tyrell is happy to finally be graduated from Laramie after never having gotten the scholarship he deserved. Wyoming gives all its financial aid money to its in-state students, so there's a lot of student loans to pay off, loans Tyrell hopes to pay with an NFL contract.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/spurlock.jpg
UW-Milwaukee goes 6-5 as the Panthers have become quite a respectable team in recent years. Charlie Harper wins the starting job as expected and gets his first collegiate interception, the only one of the year. He also defends 9 passes (21.3%) and handles kickoff return duties. In 18 returns, he averages 28 yards, including an incredible 75 yard return for a TD against UW-Green Bay!
UW-Eau Claire goes 0-11 for the third straight year. Now that's a sign of suckiness.
New Orleans finishes 7-9 as the Saints finished last in the NFL's most brutal division, the NFC South. All of the other three teams in the division won at least 10 games. LT Matt Bruce played in all 16 games and even started 2 of them. He was an impressive 11/27 (40.7%) in run blocks, but gave up 8 sacks. He's currently rated 17/22, but it doesn't look like he'll get signed anywhere.
TE Tyrell Spurlock sadly doesn't make the draft pool, nor does Matt Bruce get signed.
Year 27: 2029
LT Matt Bruce Free Agent (2nd Year)
He's 18/22, but like Tyrone Junker, he probably won't get picked up this year and will retire thereafter. Ah well. At least we've gotten a couple players to the big show.
CB Charlie Harper UW-Milwaukee Panthers (RS Jr)
Holy cow! Charlie becomes the first Park Panther ever to reach Very Good in Current as he's up to 62/62! He's without question the best CB on the roster and what's scary is that he's only a junior. Could we finally have an NFL prospect that's draftable on our hands?
QB Marco Roach UW-Eau Claire Blugolds (Fr)
Marco comes in with a cocky attitude and horrible credentials. As in 0/22 scouted rating. Even on this terrible team, that won't get him any playing time. He needs to shape up and get his act together, or he'll be just an afterthought like Shaun Kimbrough was.
CB Ethan Dykes
Heh. 4 rating? I don't think so.
End Season:
UW-Milwaukee uses a 6-1 conference record to go 6-5 on the year and win the Sol-8 championship. They get waxed by Arkansas State 40-28 in, ironically enough, the New Orleans Bowl, but who cares? It's the very first bowl game in UW-M history! Charlie Harper didn't have the mammoth season everyone was expecting, as he intercepted just one pass and actually regressed in pass coverage, with 7 passes defensed (19.6%) and a whole lot of times where he looked like burnt toast. His kick return game was less than stellar too, at 26.3 yards on average. Still, it was a down year throughout the entire conference and his performance was good enough to make him a Sol-8 All Conference 2nd Team member.
UW-Eau Claire won a game for the first time in for years, but they still finished 1-10. The last time they won two games in a season? 2018, when they were 2-9. That's a long stretch of suckitude. Their last winning season was all the way back in 2009, when they were 6-5. Incredible how bad a team can stink, no? Oh yeah, Marco Roach stayed redshirted.
Matt Bruce isn't signed the entire year and retires quietly.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/brucenfl.jpg
I normally stop after two years, but I -have- to go the third year. I just have to see if Charlie Harper gets drafted.
Year 28: 2030
CB Charlie Harper UW-Milwaukee Panthers (RS Sr)
He takes another super jump and gets up to 77/77! If that doesn't say NFL prospect, then I don't know what the hell does. Charlie's hungry to get UW-M to another bowl game and this time, to win.
QB Marco Roach UW-Eau Claire Blugolds (RS Fr)
Marco goes up to 6/22, which would be enough to make him the third-stringer were it not for the fact that he achieves an ignoble first in Park alum history. In other words, he's suspended for the year after flunking Geology. Way to go, Marco.
K Shawn Castle
24 rating? Um, no.
OLB Lester Webster
26 rating is getting better, but still not enough.
S Troy Hynes
5 is worse, okay? Sheesh!
S Jumbo Friedman
24 is not a jumbo rating.
S Sean Bailey
26 still isn't good enough. How pathetic is this? Three S prospects and not one of them is worth crap.
End Season:
UW-Milwaukee puts in a great effort and finishes 7-4, but it's not enough to get them back to a bowl game. Charlie Harper has a breakout senior year, intercepting 3 passes and returning one back for a TD! He also defended 12 passes (21.6%) and got burned noticeably less. As always, though, Charlie was the biggest threat in the return game. He returned 11 punts for a 5.5 average, including one for a TD and posted his best kick return year, averaging an astounding 29.4 kick return average. Despite this sensationa campaign, he only made the Sol-8 All Conference 2nd Team again.
UW-Eau Claire went back to its usual 0-11 ways.
Shit! I forgot to save Charlie Harper's final statistics. So let me just limit myself to saying this: His 32 career passes defensed are a UW-Milwaukee record.
He did, however, make the NFL Draft pool! The scouting report:
RCB Charlie Harper UW-Milwaukee Panthers (Sr)
Two-time Sol-8 All-Conference Second Team member who plays all coverages with equal skill, though best suited to a bump and run system. Fast (4.49 40), but not very intelligent and can't sniff out plays, but displays considerable leadership qualities and is a serviceable kick returner, which is where his greatest value comes in. Almost no upside. If he sticks in the league, it'll be as a dime back/kick return specalist.
Outlook: 7th round or UDFA. 4.0 (4.1 adjusted)
Charlie doesn't get drafted, but does sign a 1 year UDFA deal with the Buffalo Bills, giving us our third NFL player!

Year 29: 2031
RCB Charlie Harper Buffalo Bills (Rookie)
On the inactive list and not likely to see time unless there's an injury, which is a real shame. At 15/30, he has the potential to develop into a legitimate NFL nickel or dime back, but if he doesn't get the PT, it's not going to happen.
QB Marco Roach UW-Eau Claire Blugolds (RS So)
We're down to two players? Wow, that sucks, especially since one is a likely one and done in the NFL and this one got busted last year for academics. He's actually eligible this year and all the way up to 8/21, making him the backup. But wait, there's more! A walk-on RS freshman is far and away the best QB at 24/24 and will be the starter unless he gets pissed about not having a scholarship and leaves the team or something. Wow, just wow.
CB Jim Tracy
...A 0. Why the hell is this guy even a prospect? I"ve never even -seen- a 0 rating before.
OLB Kenny Shannon
Poor academics? Check. Lousy attitude? Check. 38 rating, but he also must be injured or something because he hasn't played this year. 7th best OLB in the state who wants name and distance equally. Outside chance of catching on somewhere.
Week 14
Kenny gets a walk-on offer from Louisiana-Monroe. Interestingly enough, he played just 2 games, amassing 10 tackles and a sack. Maybe it wasn't an injury. Maybe it was a team rules suspension. Who knows? Kinda cool, though. I've never seen something like that before.
Minor Bowl Tier
UL-M pulls its walk-on offer.
End Season
UW-Eau Claire is 1-10, continuing their 0 and 1 win seasons streak. Wow, how terrible that program is. It almost has me tempted to try and go into an editor and make myself the head coach to bring respectability there.... Almost.
...And then I see why they only won a game. Marco Roach was named the starter. 145-313 (46.3%) for 1843 yards, 8 TDs and 23 INTs. He was sacked 25 times for 157 yards and amassed an 89.4 rating. He did some running too, but considering his rushing total was -81 yards... yeah. At least the Blugolds screwed up the right way this time.
The Buffalo Bills finish a woeful 5-11, but Charlie Harper beats out his competition in exhibition games and plays in 16 games, even starting a couple thanks to injuries. He has 1 interception and 1 pass defensed in 272 plays, in which he was also caught 22 times, giving him a 74.4%. Yeah, I don't get that one. Bug maybe? One kickoff return, good for 14 yards.
Naturally, Charlie doesn't get re-signed or signed. It'd be nice to have a player who'd stick just once.
Year 30: 2032
RCB Charlie Harper Free Agent (2nd year)
17/30. One and done. Blah blah blah.
QB Marco Roach UW-Eau Claire Blugolds (RS Jr)
After his stunning upset to win the starter's job, he comes from out of nowhere to go up to 21/22. He still should be the backup, but you know how stupid the Blugolds staff is. They'll start him again.
T Dennis Guthrie
20 rating? Wake me up when the season's over.
End Season:
UW-Eau Claire goes 2-9 for the first time in forever and much of the credit has to go to Marco Roach, who loves it in Eau Claire despite the fact that his teammates hate him. Once again the starting QB he goes 153-327 (46.7%) for 2002 yards, the first Panther QB to ever hit 2,000 yards either in high school or in college with 14 TDs and 19 INTs. This, despite the fact that his line was even worse than last year, giving him a 38 sack pounding. Ouch! His 100.6 rating is far better than anyone could've hoped for, though.
Charlie Harper isn't signed and retires.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/harpernfl.jpg
Might as well play out Roach's senior year and hope we get some guys in.
Year 31: 2033
QB Marco Roach UW-Eau Claire Blugolds (RS Sr)
Heh. Oh, the irony! The motherfucking irony! He's 32/32, finally able to win the starting job legitimately.... and he gets suspended for the year after flunking some random class. The TCY gods hate me.
No Park prospects. Ugh.
End Season:
Without the help of Marco Roach, the Blugolds fall back down to 0-11. Wow. Has there ever been a team as bad as them? Amazingly, yes. There are still four teams with fewer wins, namely New Mexico State, Duke, Buffalo, and East Carolina.
And so the greatest QB in Park High history graduates with an astronomy degree and two wholly undeserved starting seasons under his belt. He'll stay in Eau Claire, working for the local planetarium. The owner's a diehard Blugolds fan who thinks Marco could've made the Blugolds good if he hadn't gotten in a little bit o'trouble with the classroom. ...Laff.

Year 32: 2034
It feels strange not to have any Park alumni to watch in college. I'd gotten pretty spoiled the last several years. Oh well, let's see if some people pop up to get us going again.
K Kurt Baker
Um, yeah. 3 rating? Nope.
DT Donnell O'Donnell
Undersized Irish-American kid at 6'4" 259 lbs and meh academically. 91 in the state, Wisconsin's 6th best DT. Rated 33 by a Decent scout, his smaller size makes him better at pass rushing than run stuffing. A rare Panther that seeks a Social Work program that's really good above everything else, preferably close to home. Chances of getting picked up are middling.
P Jake Agree
I agree that he's not likely to make D-I with his 25 rating.
T Lance Bernard
The latest in a long of line of Panther OL prospects, at 29 rating, he's on the outside looking in.
Week 11
Donnell gets a scholarship offer from UW-La Crosse and he's visiting the campus. UW-L certainly seems a popular destination for Park Panthers. I forgot to do it with the 25 year team, but starting with the 50 year team, I'll keep tabs of how many players have gone to each school and what ones.
Week 14
Dumbass O'Donnell waited too long and his scholarship offer is pulled. Ugh.
End Season:
That's all she wrote.
Year 33: 2035
WR Luke Bailey
9 rating? ....This is getting annoying.
Year 34: 2036
TE Jamie Walzer
Another year, another person who won't cut it at 26 overall.
Year 35: 2037
K Drew Plummer
Our stream of crappy kickers continue with 11 rating.
DT Kent Mason
Hi, Mr. 15 rating! Bye, Mr. 15 rating!
CB Rich Arpaci
The greatest Park defensive back since a guy named Charlie Harper. #332 in the country, 22nd best cornerback. 7th best player in Wisconsin, #2 cornerback in the state. 76 rating by our Poor scout, his strength in his punt returns, but isn't comfortable in a m-2-m scheme. 9 interceptions already through 4 games. 6'3" 191 lbs projects as legitimate pro size. Respectable academics with a 2.84 GPA and 1124 SAT. Might be an even greater talent than Harper. Could this Italian-American stud be the answer to our NFL dreams? Wants a good Social Work program and name school equally.
Week 2
UW-Milwaukee and Madison make scholarship offers. Northern Illinois makes contact. Teh internets are already aflame with the gossip that Rich will be the first Panther-Badger since a man they call Tyrone Junker.
Week 3
UW-La Crosse dangles a scholarship and North Texas makes contact.
Week 4
Tulane and Wake Forest make contact, but the Badger rumors heat up even more as Rich visits Madison.
Week 5
The trudge of Sol-8 hopefuls continues as UW-Parkside throws him a scholarship. CB Rich Arpaci makes the Wisconsin All-State team!!! Congratulations, Rich! He finishes with 29 tackles, 3 sacks, and 15 interceptions, 1 shy of Charlie Harper's school record.
Week 7
San Jose State makes contact.
Week 8
Rich tours UW-Milwaukee, UW-La Crosse, and UW-Parkside. Tennessee and Utah State make walk-on offers. Honestly, I'm surprised he hasn't generated more scholarship offers from non-state schools with his credentials.
Week 9
Decision time! CB Rich Arpaci, the Panthers' fourth All-State player, will be attending...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Wisconsin.gif
The Wisconsin Badgers!!!
Whew. Huge sigh of relief that he didn't go to a Sol-8 school. Rich's pro prospects just took an enormous leap upwards.
End Season:
The Badgers finish 10-1, winning the Big Ten championship. They earn a bid in the prestigious Orange Bowl, where they lose to Boston College 27-17. Since Tyrone Junker graduated in 2022, Wisconsin's been to a bowl game every single year and have won no fewer than 8 games a season. Now that's one prestigious program! Unfortunately, they have yet to win a national championship and despite their 307-99 all-time record, 20-11 mark in bowl games, they barely rank in the Top 25 in prestige, at #25 overall (67 prestige).
But hey, we've finally got our first Panther in college in about five years!

Year 36: 2038
CB Rich Arpaci University of Wisconsin Badgers (Fr)
Rich comes in with a dazzling 30/97 rating, which would be enough to make him the dime back even on this powerhouse Badgers team. He's being redshirted, though, giving him another year to develop and make a push to become the greatest Park Panther in the history of the school.
DE Glen Rivers
26 rating? Close, but no cigar.
OLB Rex Swift
Really cool name, but 8 rating is dudly rather than studly.
End Season:
Wisconsin puts together another impressive 10-1 campaign, but it's not enough to repeat as Big Ten champions and they keel over in the Cotton Bowl 28-10 to Wake Forest. Rich Arpaci stayed redshirted the whole year. He has an incredible 3.26 GPA his redshirt year and just might became the first Park alumnus to get a degree with a 3.0 or better GPA.
Year 37: 2039
CB Rich Arpaci University of Wisconsin Badgers (RS Fr)
The injury bug strikes with devastating ferocity as what happened with Tyrone Junker. It sets Rich back to 25/96, but fortunately he's still slated to be the team's dime back.
No Racine prospects period. I think that's the first time that's ever happened.
End Season:
Wisconsin goes 10-1 for another season, wins the Big Ten championship and pummels Oklahoma 30-17 in the Sugar Bowl, second most prestigious bowl in all the land. That'll help the old prestige! Rich Arpaci plays in all 12 games and intercepts 2 passes, returning one for a TD! He defended 1 pass (19.7%) and recorded 19 tackles (2 TFL), 5 assists, and, amazingly enough 1.5 sacks. He really made the most of his opportunities, though his grades dropped with the increased football time. He's now at 3.0 on the button.
In other stunning news, Lawrence University becomes the first Sol-8 school to make the National Championship game. Cal has no trouble at all crushing the Vikings 34-17.

Year 38: 2040
CB Rich Arpaci University of Wisconsin Badgers (RS So)
We saw the potential for greatness in Rich last season and he breaks out this year ratings-wise at 43/97. He's on track to fulfill the amazing ceiling he has, particularly since he'll start this year, likely as the #2 cornerback. Could bona fide NFL dreams at last be within reach?
CB Adrian Shea
2 rating? Uh, yeah. Have fun not playing D-1 football, Adrian!
End Season:
The Badgers finish 10-1 for at least the third straight consecutive season, but run into their old archnemesis, Wake Forest, in the Cotton Bowl. The Demon Deacons bedevil Wisconsin, thrashing them 55-20. Rich Arpaci picks off 3 passes and defends 7 (20.0%) while recording 50 tackles (6 TFL) and 8 assists in 12 starts. All in all, a solid year.
Year 39: 2041
CB Rich Arpaci University of Wisconsin Badgers (RS Jr)
Rich's steady progress continues, as he's up to 58/97 now. While he probably won't top out at his full potential by his senior year, he should make enough gains and have enough upside to draw some serious draft consideration. This prospect excites me, as it should everyone who reads this! He'll again be the #2 cornerback, behind fellow RS Jr and major overachiever Billy Legan who was an All-Big Ten 2nd Team selection last year.
No Park prospects. How disappointing. Only 1 for all of Racine in fact.
End Season:
Wisconsin took a small step back this year by going 9-2, but they returned to the Cotton Bowl, where they lost a heartbreaking 55-52 barnburner to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Wonder if some descendant of Calvin Johnson's was playing for the other team. Rich Arpaci was inexplicably relegated to nickel duty this year, starting only two games. In spite of this, he had an excellent season, intercepting 4 passes, one for a TD and defending 8 passes (22.9%). He also racked up 25 tackles (2 TFL) and 7 assists. Not only that, but he returned numerous kickoffs for a 23.5 yard average. Hopefully next year he'll get his starting job back. Billy Legan repeated as Big Ten-All Conference 2nd Team, by the way.
Year 40: 2042
CB Rich Arpaci University of Wisconsin Badgers (RS Sr)
Reduced playing time led to Rich not making the strides we'd hoped for and he's currently 50/97, firmly stuck as the Badgers' nickel back. Hopefully the NFL will see him as a project worth investing time and money in, but nothing's a guarantee.
DT Drew Sullivan
32 rating would put him on the bubble, but 9th ranked DT in the state means he's out.
C Bryce Fowlkes
4 rating? Pfft.
S Darrell Brink
5 rating and $1.00 will get you a cup of coffee.
DT Neil Matthews
6'7" 283 lbs monster who's smart in the classroom, the first legitimate Park athlete to have a 3.0 or better GPA (3.11), but suffers major test anxiety (983 SAT). Rated 33 by our poor scout, he's the 65th best player in Wisconsin, 4th best DT in the state. 26 tackles thus far. Really, really wants to stay close to home, and a name would be nice. Can you say Sol-8? Yeah, I thought so.
Week 3
Neil gets contacted by Duke. Laff.
Week 4
Arizona State makes contact.
Week 7
Well, looky here! Drew Sullivan, who, incidentally, had 1.5 more sacks and the same amount of tackles as Neil Mathews, gets a scholarship offer from UW-La Crosse and he visits.
Week 10
Duke pulls all contact from Neil. This is looking bad.
Week 11
From bad to horrible. Drew gets his UW-L scholarship yanked and Arizona State breaks communication with Neil.
Week 12
Oklahoma State and Rutgers make contact... and UW-Marathon County offers Neil a scholarship. He visits. I just threw up in my mouth. Please don't go to an extension. There's not even a damn logo to use.
Week 13
DT Neil Mathews is a damned fool and goes to UW-Marathon County, which doesn't even have sports in real life cuz it's not a school. Neil, you suck. I hate you.
End Season:
Rather fittingly, Wisconsin has its worst season in years at 7-4 before dropping a 28-6 stinkbomb to the Florida Gators in the lowly Alamo Bowl. Rich Arpaci picks a fantastic time to have his worst collegiate year, picking off just 1 interception and defending a single pass (19.6%). 17 tackles (2 TFL) and 4 assists. He'll graduate with a 2.81 GPA for his degree in Social Work. NFL prospects are cloudy, but hey he's got a hot blonde girlfriend named Nedra. That counts for something, right?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Arpaci.jpg
UW-Marathon County, I'm happy to report, only has 3 winning seasons in this universe and they've never been to a bowl game. They're about on the UW-La Crosse order of suck, though I'd much rather they were on the UW-Eau Claire level of suck. Oh well, can't have everything. They were 3-8 this season.
Yes! Rich Arpaci made the draft pool cut! And awesomely enough, he's a better prospect than that Billy jerk.
RCB Rich Arpaci University of Wisconsin Badgers:
6'3" 217
The biggest cornerback in this draft, he has an excellent 40 time for his size (4.51). An absolute natural punt returner who didn't get to showcase that skill set in college. The perfect zone defensive back, he's shaky in run support and with other systems. Not as strong as you'd hope for (9 reps) nor a punishing hitter. Average intelligence, but has the potential to break out and become more than what he looks right now. Best suited as a nickel or dime package corner with a zone-heavy team.
Prediction: 7th round or UDFA. - 4.2 (4.3 adjusted)
Much to my extreme crushing disappointment, he didn't get drafted. Instead, he signs a 1 year UDFA deal with the Atlanta Falcons. We all know how that's worked out in this universe for our former Panthers. :(

Year 41: 2043
RCB Rich Arpaci Atlanta Falcons (Rookie)
19/33 rating with some potential to be a great punt returner and zone coverage again, but the Falcons have an absolute glut of cornerbacks. This mean's Rich is on the inactive list. Ugh. At best, he'll get some PT for injuries.
DT Neil Mathews UW-Marathon County Extensions (Fr)
There, I've given them a team name, the Extensions, because that's what the school is in real life. I'm still pissed about him signing with them. If I ever put the Sol-8 in Wisconsin again, I'm changing the cities around so this annoyance can go away. Anyway, he's 7/61 and will be redshirted. Two of the guys ahead of him are seniors, one of whom is damn good for a Sol-8 DT. It appears the Extensions run a 3-4 D, so his starting opportunities will be slim after his redshirt year if he doesn't step it up.
WR Kent Alcott
*snore* 8 rating.
K Derrick Rodriguez
14 rating and the latest in an obnoxiously long sucky kickers.
T Jerome Daubach
Heh, 26 rating. We get too damned offensive linemen and most of them suck hobbit snot like he does.
End Season:
UW-Marathon County finishes 3-8 and Neil Mathews stays redshirted.
I don't give a damn how the Falcons did because after one start, where he defended a pass and returned 3 punts for an impressive 16.7 yard average, Atlanta cuts Rich Arpaci in Week 6 and he doesn't get picked up for the rest of the year.
Year 42: 2044
RCB Rich Arpaci Free Agent (Second Season)
He's not likely to get picked up this year and if he doesn't, I'm not even going to bother posting his NFL stats. He's been the single most disappointing player in the entire history of this universe and I'm getting disgusted right now. Rich is up to 20/33 right now though and has a 70 punt return rating.
DT Neil Mathews UW-Marathon County Extensions (RS Fr)
I grow more irritated when Neil did jack his redshirt year and is at 9/61, making him tied for third-string DT. He only got a 2.34 GPA too so it's not like he busted his tail on the books. It'll be at least two more years before he works his way to challenging for a starting spot, if even then.
RB Wally Mallard
Awesome, awesome name with some personal significance. Wally was my maternal grandfather's name and about a year before he died, he fell down the stairs into his basement and wound up laying in turpentine for 24 hours straight before his friend found him. Turns out Grandpa had a broken hip and quite a few infections, so he went into the hospital.
On the way up to see him, I bought him a stuffed animal mallard duck. It kept him company in his hospital room and when he had to go to on-site rehab after he got out of the hospital, he insisted on taking the duck with him. He started coming back from that, too, when he had that heart attack. The duck went with him then too and was there in the hospital room with him and my uncle when he passed away.
My mom and my uncle gave the duck back to me after Grandpa died and it's one of my most significant possessions.
All of that aside, sadly this Wally Mallard won't cut it. He's 26 rating.
P Walt Bridges
94th best punter in the country, 84th best player in Wisconsin and the top punter in the state. 33 rating by our poor Scout. Booms it far and fast. Decent attitude, ho-hum academics. Really, really wants a name school with academics his secondary factor. He should get signed by -somebody-.
Week 14
Walt -finally- gets something, even if it's only a walk-on offer from Missouri. Please take it!
Minor Bowl Week
...Dumbass didn't take it, so now he's lost his shot.
End Season:
UW-Marathon County finishes 3-8 again. Neil Mathews played in all 11 games and actually got 2 starts, amassing 6 tackles (3 TFL), half a sack, and a QB hurry. Better than what I expected.
Rich Arpaci isn't picked up and he retires. Since he didn't even make it a full season, he gets no cool card.
Year 43: 2045
DT Neil Mathews UW-Marathon County Extensions (RS So)
Heh. All that playing time he got and he's 10/61, the 3rd best DT on the roster, and that's not including the hotshot frosh they're redshirting. Unbelievable.
P Christian Coombs
67th best punter in the country, 44th best player in the state and the 2nd best punter in Wisconsin. 49 rating by yon terrible scout. Fair attitude, bleh academics, really wants to stay close to home, pref. name. Can he get signed? Doubt it. Punters = dime/dozen 4 1 spot.
OLB Mitchell Donovan
*waves goodbye to Mitch and his 24 rating.*
Week 11
Christian gets a walk-on offer from Georgia. I'll eat my hat if he's smart enough to accept it.
Week 12
Offer's pulled a week later.
Week 13
Missouri really likes our punters. They offer this a walk-on spot as well. Watch him not take it!
Week 14
Utah makes a walk-on offer now too. Please,-please- take one of these damn it!
Conference Championship Week
Utah goes away, but Missouri's still patiently waiting.
Minor Bowl
Coombs is a big an asswhite as his predecessor. Offer got pulled.
End Season:
The Extensions are actually competitive, going 5-6. Hooray. Neil Mathews's candy ass plays 8 games, starting 1. He notches 3 tackles and a block. Yippee.
At this rate, the 50th anniversary team won't be all that much different from the 25th.
And that's pretty damned pathetic.

Has he seen the light and start working hard? Why, no! 16/61 and he's a crappy backup on a crappy team. Should still see some PT, though.
OLB Howie Greer
Heh. 16 is no go. Wow, has Park ever sucked the big one in this second set of 25.
End Season:
UW-Marathon County is 4-7 on the year. Neil Mathews plays 10 games and gets 2 starts in for 4 tackles (2 TFL), an assist, half a sack and 3 hurries. It's the most successful campaign in a pitiful college career.
Year 45: 2047
DT Neil Mathews UW-Marathon County Extensions (RS Sr)
I'll be happy to get this jackass graduated and off the reporting list. He doesn't do a thing over the summer and stays at 16/61, good enough to keep him the backup with PT.
P Marcus Galloway
#72 P in country, #61 player in state, #2 P in Wisconsin. 42 by our Terrible scout. We all know how this is going to go, but hey, he's booting 40 yards a punt, so maybe there's hope.
Conference Championships
Hooray! A walk-on offer from Oregon! Watch him be the third Panther punter in a row to reject it!
Minor Bowls
The Ducks exit, stage left.
End Season:
The Extensions are 4-7 again and Neil Mathews lights it up his senior year relatively speaking. 11 games, 5 starts. 5 tackles (3 TFL), an assist, 2 sacks, a block and 2 hurries. That's phenomenal coming from his lazy ass! Graduates with a gift-wrapped Architecture degree despite his 1.88 GPA. Who cares what he does with his life? Given how horrid the pool's been, we'll see him in five years on the 50th anniversary team anyway.

C Byron Houghtlin
Yeah, a big fat 0 is what Park is turning into all right.
Year 47: 2049
OLB Kevin Meyers
38 rating by a lousy scout, combined with his 73rd best player in the state, and, most importantly, 2nd best OLB in Wisconsin, means he has an outside chance of getting signed. Man, I sure hope he does. Academic cred is pretty decent, though he of course has a poor attitude. A man-to-man guy who can't really defend the run. Wants name and closeness in equal measure.
Week 6
62 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 3 interceptions later, OLB Kevin Meyers becomes the fourth (or is it fifth) All-State Panther in Park High history. Congratulations, Kevin! Now get some damn offers!
...What a disgrace. An All-State OLB in the Sol-8 state and he doesn't even get a walk-on offer. Talk about the utmost in disrespect.

Year 49: 2051
G George Parnell
I'm tempted to make a James Joyce joke because my paper tonight was on The Dead and a Tagore short story, but I won't. This one's good Parnell. 48 rating by our terrific scout, 21st best player in Wisconsin, 2nd best guard in the state. Decent attitude, blah academics. Really, really wants a name school, pref. close to home. Yeah, another o-lineman. Oh well, at least it's somebody. He's also a passblocker, a first in Park history.
Week 2
Nebraska comes in with a scholarship offer. I hate Nebraska. Worst state in the US.
Week 4
Missouri dangles a scholarship. Bet MizzouRah would be thrilled with that if he went there. ;)
Week 5
Ohio State makes contact.
Week 7
Tulsa makes a walk-on offer. Current internet rumour says he ends up at Missouri. G George Parnell becomes the fifth or sixth Wisconsin All-State player in Panther history! Yay George!
Week 8
That cesspool, UW-Eau Claire, invites him to walk-on, but this week he's off visiting Mizzou and Nebraska. The Missouri gossip gets some more legs.
Week 9
Funny how a week changes things. Ohio State dashes off a scholarship letter, Parnell visits, and suddenly everyone's saying he'll be a Buckeye.
Week 10
Ohio State pulls its offer, Buffalo replaces the Buckeyes in scholarship offer and visit and we're down to four visited finalists: Mizzou, Nebraska, Buffalo, and.. those bastard Blugolds who tossed him a scholarship real quick. I will be pissed if he goes Sol-8.
Week 11
Everyone drops George except... E... Mizzou! Nice! Now accept it, you fool!
Week 12
A decision has been made! All-State G George Parnell will be attending...

The University of Missouri Tigers!!!
Now that's freaking awesome! :)
End Season:
Mizzou finishes 5-6 for this season. I'm afraid to report that Missouri's sucked hard in this universe. Just 6 winning seasons in school history and only 3 bowl games. Adding insult to injury, they're 0-3 in said bowl games, having been blown out in each one. Their last appearance was back in 2045, when they got clobbered 45-21 by Northern Illinois in the Motor City Bowl, the only bowl game Mizzou's ever participated in. Yep, that's right. 3 Motor City Bowls, 3 blowout losses.
Year 50: 2052
G George Parnell University of Missouri Tigers (Fr)
The bad news: George is 0/73. The good news: Mizzou has one guard with a current rating over 10 and he's a senior. That means the field's wide open for George to bust ass and stake out some PT as early as his RS frosh year.
CB Tracy Malcom
5? Nah.
End Season:
Mizzou struggles to a 3-8 record. George Parnell keeps his redshirt and posts a 1.88 GPA, nearly flunking Algebra. Not a good sign.

Racine Park High 50th Anniversary All-Time Panthers Team
QB: Marco Roach (2028) UW-Eau Claire Blugolds*
Two-year starter for a terrible Blugolds program and showed signs of bringing them to respectability, but academic problems cost him two seasons, including his senior year. The lone legitimate QB prospect thus far in Panther history.
RB Seth Grafton (2013) Bowling Green Falcons
Starred for Park and went on to Bowling Green, where he played very little until his senior season. Noted for his work ethic and overachieving.
FB Shaun Kimbrough (2021 - All-State) UW-Eau Claire Blugolds
The first All-State player in Park High history, he was inexplicably ignored by the Blugolds coaching staff during his college years, leading to much bitterness and a vow on the part of the Panthers coaches to actively discourage any prospect from attending UW-EC.
TE Tyrell Spurlock (2023) University of Wyoming Cowboys
A walk-on in Laramie, Tyrell played all four years and was the Cowboys' starter his senior year, despite never earning a scholarship. The unsung hero of the powerhouse early-mid 20s Panthers squads.
G George Parnell (2051 - All-State) University of Missouri Tigers*
Entering his redshirt freshman year at Mizzou, he stands a good chance at getting some playing time and becoming an eventual starter. Guard and tackle have really been the great strengths of the Panther program.
T Matt Bruce (2022 - All-State) UW-Green Bay Phoenix, New Orleans Saints
The second Park alum to make the NFL, Matt played a year with the New Orleans Saints Saints as their backup tackle after the greatest college career yet by a Panther. A three-year starter at left tackle for the Phoenix, he was a two-time Sol-8 All-Conference First Team selection.
Classic overachiever who was Park's first-ever All-Conference selection when he made the Sol-8 All-Conference Second team his junior year.
[b]DE Jerry Horton (2015) University of Texas Longhorns
The first Panther to see extensive playing time at the collegiate level, his Longhorn years occurred during a fallow period in UT-Austin's storied history.
DT Neil Mathews (2042) UW-Marathon County Extensions*
Played sparingly for a terrible team in Wausau, but to date is the only DT prospect to play D-1 ball in Panther history.
DE: Craig Desai (2014)
OLB: Kenny Shannon (2031)*
ILB: Danny Fields (2004)
ILB: T.J. Ellison (2016)
OLB: Kevin Meyers (2049 - All-State)*
CB Charlie Harper (2025 - All-State) UW-Milwaukee Panthers, Buffalo Bills
The third All-State player in the history of Park's program. Three-year starter for the UW-M Panthers and was Milwaukee's career leader in passes defensed when he graduated. Signed a UDRFA deal with the Bills and played one season before retiring.
CB Rich Arpaci (2037 - All-State) University of Wisconsin Badgers, Atlanta Falcons*
Played primarily as the Badgers' nickeback, though he did have one year as a starter. Considerable upside as an NFL prospect led to his UDRFA signing with the Atlanta Falcons. Unfortunately a numbers game led to his being cut after six games. Considered the most talented player ever to play for Park and one unjustly robbed of what should've been a stellar college and professional career.
S: Jumbo Friedman (2030)*

Six All-State players, three collegiate All-Conference selections and four guys who hit the pros is okay over 50 years I guess, given that we don't have the greatest program. Interesting that Tyrone Junker is the only pro Panther who wasn't also an All-State member and he turned out to be the only starter!
14 D-1 players over 50 years isn't a bad haul, really. Granted, you'd always like to see more, but it averages out to a college player every 3 or 4 years.
10 changes from the 25th Anniversary Team, but just 3 of them involved actual D-1 players. The nice part is, all three D-1 additions filled positions where we didn't have anybody before.
Here's to hoping we have a great next 25 years!
Year 51: 2053
G George Parnell University of Missouri Tigers (RS Fr)
George really pushed his redshirt year to the limit and went from 0/73 to 18/67. Sure his ceiling went down, but that jump in current was huge and not only in terms of numbers. He went at it so hard that he's a probably starter at guard! Could we see our first Panther to be a four-year starter at a non Sol-8 university?
QB Omar Berry
Oh.My.God! Awesome name, the 427th best player in the country, 33rd best QB in the US, 5th best player in the state and 2nd best Wisconsin QB! Who cares that he's a dumbass with a lousy attitude that looks like another Marco Roach? The point is... he's good! Rated 75 by our Decent scout, he can throw the long ball but has problems avoiding interceptions. Really wants to stay close to home, preferably a name school. Can we say Badger time?
Week 2
Fresno State and Georgia make contact. UW-Milwaukee throws a scholarship, trying to break the tie for most Panther alumni.
Week 3
Lakeland College and Virginia Tech hand out scholarship offers, but UW-M's definitely got the lead.
Week 6
UW-Parkside makes a walk-on offer, UW-Green Bay joins the scholarship sweepstakes and the Internet is alive with conversation when Omar visits Virginia Tech. My money is still on UW-M. Incidentally, Omar's year is over. He was 165-291 (56.7%) for 2,666 yards, 13 TDs and 9 INTs. He also rushed 110 times for 728 yards (6.61 ypc) and 3 TDs. Scouts are drooling over his two-way threat, calling him a poor man's Michael Vick. Hah! It'd be funny if he wound up at VT then.
Week 7
He's visiting UW-Milwaukee this week and has an offer from UW-Parkside.
Week 8
QB Omar Berry, the finest passer Park High has ever seen, will be attending...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/uwmpanthers.jpg
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers!
Once again, teh internets is right. It's not a bad choice, though. Fits exactly what he wanted and Charlie Harper and Hunter Turnbull did okay there.
End Season:
Mizzou suffers its worst record in years, plunging to a 1-10 disaster of a season. The coaching staff gets UW-Eau Claire disease and doesn't even play George Parnell for a single down. Absolutely flabbergasting.
How has Milwaukee fared since the days of Charlie Harper? Fantastically, actually. The Panthers have had just two losing seasons since 2030, Harper's senior year, and have made 9 bowl games. Unfortunately, they're 1-8 in those contests, with their lone win a 40-14 thrashing of Arkansas State in the New Orleans Bowl. North Texas is the biggest thorn in UW-M's side, with a glittering 4-0 record against the Panthers in bowl games.
Milwaukee stumbled to a 6-5 record this year, but are primed to rebound next season and get back in a bowl game.

Year 52: 2054
G George Parnell University of Missouri Tigers (RS So)
George was so discouraged by the Tigers' staff's treatment of him last year, not even giving him a single down, that he pigged out this summer and comes in woefully out of shape (6/36). In fact, it's so bad that he won't see playing time, as he's the 6th guard on the roster. That future plunge was ghastly. I've never seen one that bad. It's a shame, too. If only they'd started him last year.
QB Omar Berry UW-Milwaukee Panthers (Fr)
20/52 means he'd be the third-stringer right now, but the Panthers are wisely red-shirting him. Of the two guys ahead of him, one's a senior, the other's a junior. Can we say starting in a couple years? I thought we could!
No Park prospects.
End Season:
Missouri improves to 3-8, but they repeat as the bottomfeeders of the Big Twelve North. George Parnell shockingly manages to play in seven games, 1/2 in key run blocks and surrendering nary a sack. Maybe there's a glimmer of hope yet.
UW-Milwaukee likewise improved, to 7-4, but it wasn't enough to get them a bowl bid. Omar Berry stayed redshirted and posted a 2.22 GPA. Why is it all of our quarterback prospects are academic risks?
Year 53: 2055
G George Parnell University of Missouri Tigers (RS Jr)
After a terrible collapse the year before, the playing time George got last season fired up his motivation again and he comes in at 21/36, which will make him either a starter or a top backup. Naturally, we hope it's the former. It'd be great to see him make it.
QB Omar Berry UW-Milwaukee Panthers (RS Fr)
Omar makes a similiarly great jump, up to 36/52. Like George, he'll either start or be the second-stringer. In any case, even if the senior starts ahead of him this season, Omar will be the starter beginning his redshirt sophomore year. About damn time we had an authentic starting QB!
C Jonathan Wilcox
In a normal year, 38 rating and 63rd best player in Wisconsin would get him some consideration, but the center class is stacked this year, and he's only the 6th best in the state.
CB Bill Lyle
19 rating? Forget it.
Week 2
Well, what do you know? Wilcox gets a scholarship offer from UW-La Crosse. Shades of Luther "Juniorer" Seau here.
Week 5
Jonathan visits UW-L. Could the Eagles get their third Panther lineman and second center?
Week 11
Temple makes contact. It's making me nervous that he hasn't accepted the Eagles' offer yet.
Week 12
Stupid ass! Just as I feared, because he dicked around so long, he lost both the scholarship offer and contact with Temple.
Week 13
Walk-on offer from East Carolina? Yeah like he's going to take that. The Pirates, incidentally, have a prestige of 0, the first time I've ever seen that in TCY.
Week 14
A decision has been made! C Jonathan Wilcox will play for...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Football/Tulsa.gif
The University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane!
Wow. Did not see that coming at all, though Tulsa's shown interest in previous Panthers before. While I'd like to have seen Jonathan get a scholarship, I'm just happy that we have another Park player to follow in college.
End Season:
Missouri is 2-9 on the year, again making them the laughingstock of the Big 12. George Parnell doesn't win the starting spot, plays all 11 games. Unfortunately, he's a dreadful 1/9 on key run blocks (11.1%), but does only surrender a single sack.
UW-Milwaukee roars back to upper-conference life in a big way, as the Panthers go 9-2 before getting hammered by Stanford 38-13 in the Peach Bowl. Omar Berry gets mopup duty in 3 games, but acquits himself pretty well. 7/14 (50%) for 70 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. He also rushed 8 times for 13 yards.
Tulsa played terribly this year, finishing 1-10, but that's par for the course for the Golden Hurricane, who have just one winning record in the history of this universe and that was in the first year, 2004. They've never been to a bowl game, either.
Year 54: 2056
G George Parnell University of Missouri Tigers (RS Sr)
There should be no reason why George doesn't start his senior year. At 29/37, he's nominally the best guard on the roster. The mistake of his redshirt freshman year isn't likely to be repeated here and I'll be more than a little ticked if it is.
QB Omar Berry UW-Milwaukee Panthers (RS So)
At 37/53, Omar's unquestionably the best quarterback on the roster. There's a lot of expectations riding on his shoulders to not only get the Panthers back to a bowl game in his remaining three years, but to carry them to a bowl victory. He can do it. I have faith.
C Jonathan Wilcox University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane (Fr)
And now we discover just why Tulsa was so eager to get Jonathan. There's only two centers on the roster, a senior and Jonathan, neither of whom have scholarships. Even at his pitiful 4/56, young Mr. Wilcox is the better of the two. Even if he doesn't start, he'll get plenty of playing time and so is the first ever Park High Panther not to be redshirted his freshman year.
No Park prospects, though Racine Case has the #256 player in the country, a DE. That's the highest a Racine prospect has ever been.
End Season:
The Missouri Tigers crash and burn for George Parnell's senior year with a 1-10 record. George doesn't care all that much though, because he finally got to be a starter and played really pretty well. 15/40 (37.5%) in key run blocks while allowing just five sacks. He'll graduate with a 1.59 GPA and a degree in Geography, but is more likely to end up a used car salesman in Tulsa or something.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Football/parnell.jpg
UW-Milwaukee takes a couple steps back at 7-4, but it's another winning record for a program that has become respected as one of the best in the Sol-8. Omar Berry was indeed the starter and played exceptionally well in 10 games. 217-377 (57.5%) for 3407 yards, 34 TDs and 27 Ints. Sure, he threw a lot of picks, but he's also become the first Park Panther to reach what I like to call a Major Milestone, in throwing for over 3000 yards. In fact, his performance was so good, he was named the Sol-8 All-Conference 1st Team QB!
Tulsa was happy to finish 3-8 on the year and Jonathan Wilcox was even happier to be the starter, despite being just 7/37 in key run blocks (18.9%). But to his credit, in 11 starts, he surrendered only one sack.

Year 55: 2057
QB Omar Berry UW-Milwaukee Panthers (RS Jr)
Ugh! You just -knew- it had to be too good to be true. Omar goes up to 46/53 and then gets his ass suspended for flunking... Comic Book Reading 303. How the fuck do you flunk Comic Book Reading?! Seriously, tell me, because I want to know. What a dumbass. Our plague of idiot QBs continues.
C Jonathan Wilcox University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane (So)
As I feared, the Golden Hurricane brought in a talented, scholarship freshman center. This means Jonathan, despite improving to 13/56, will have to be a backup.
DE Archie Hjerppe
20 rating? Later!
DT Spencer Kramer
44th best player in the state, 3rd best DT in Wisconsin. Decent attitude, wants to stay close to home with a good speech program, despite his lackluster academics. Rated 46 by our lousy scout.
Week 2
UW-La Crosse gives Spencer a scholarship offer.
Week 5
Iowa makes contact.
Week 6
Arizona State makes contact.
Week 8
Spencer finally gets off his and visits UW-L. Really, the school's just what he's looking for in terms of distance and program. Well, maybe not so much program, given that it's a 4 hour drive from Racine to La Crosse, but still!
Week 9
DT Spencer Kramer has reached a decision! He will be attending...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/UWL.jpg
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Eagles!
UW-L and UW-M are now tied for the most Panthers attending their schools, though the collegiate Panthers claim a better track record than the Eagles, Omar's stupid supension notwithstanding.
End Season:
What happens when Milwaukee loses Omar Berry to suspension? They go 8-3, win the Sol-8 conference and go to the New Orleans Bowl, losing 24-17 to Utah State in the closest game the Panthers have come to bowl victory in years. No fear that Omar will be replaced, though, as his emergency fill-in was a senior.
In spite of the improved offensive line, Tulsa drops a 2-9 record. Jonathan Wilcox plays 9 games and is 1/4 in key run blocks, no sacks allowed.
As for La Crosse, they've had one winning season since 2025, Ricky Jarvis's senior year. That was in 2039, when they were 8-3 and went to just their second bowl in school history. There they defeated Arkansas State 19-16 in one of the most thrilling New Orleans Bowls ever, the Eagles' first and only bowl win in the history of this universe. This year they were 2-9, ahead of only perennial doormat Eau-Claire.
Much to my shock, Omar Berry declares for the NFL draft. The scoop:
QB Omar Berry UW-Milwaukee Panthers
6'2" 229
Former Sol-8 1st Team All-Conference selection who declared after missing his junior year to academic ineligibility.. Has a knack for sensing the rush and throwing the long bomb, but lacks the finesse to make shorter throws. Works extremely well under pressure and is the man you want in crunch time. Quite raw (28%), but some serious potential lurks beneath. Worth taking a late-round flyer on.
Prediction: 7th round or UDRFA 4.3 (4.9 adjusted)
Much to my disappointment, Omar isn't drafted, nor does he get a UDRFA deal.
Year 56: 2058
QB Omar Berry Free Agent (Rookie)
He's rated 10/30, but he'd be fantastic in a vertical passing offense. Unfortunately, no one's giving him a chance. It was stupid for him to come out early. If he'd stayed in for his senior year, he could've positioned himself to, if not get drafted, at least get picked up by somebody. Dumb, dumb, dumb!
C Jonathan Wilcon University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane (Jr)
At 23/56, he' s not going to knock out the studly home state boy ahead of him, but he will stay solidly in place as the top backup.
DT Spencer Kramer UW-La Crosse Eagles
He's redshirted and at 8/36, there's not much ceiling on him, but he'll get some playing time starting next season with any luck.
TE Pete Oliver
Ho hum. 15 and done.
T Rick Betancourt
17 isn't enough to put him among the Panther o-line greats.
Racine Case, incidentally, sets a new hometown record with a QB that's rated the 96th best player in the country, 11th best QB. Pretty good academics too, not like a couple asshats I could mention.
End Season:
Another year, another bad season for Tulsa at 1-10. Jonathan Wilcox plays 8 games and turns in a repeat 1/4 in key run blocks, 0 sacks allowed performance.
Spencer Kramer gets a 2.08 in his redshirt year as UW-La Crosse matches Tulsa's 1-10 showing.
Omar Berry isn't signed and retires, leaving himself and us to wonder what might've been had he stayed out of academic troubles.

Year 57: 2059
C Jonathan Wilcox University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane (Sr)
Our first ever four-year graduate plays his final downs this season, once again as a backup. Although he never did get a scholarship and the Golden Hurricane stink, his career's been surprisingly fun to follow. 27/56 this year.
DT Spencer Kramer UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Fr)
The Eagles appear to run a 3-4, so at 20/36, Spencer will be the top backup at DT, with a good shot at being the starter next year as the man ahead of him is a senior. Nice jump in his redshirt year, by the way.
FB J.R. Farr
He won't go Farr with that 26 rating, even if he is the 97th best player in the state, 4th best FB.
DT Winfred Kramer
4th best DT in Wisconsin, but 23 rating says no signing for him.
Week 2
Well, well what do you know? Despite those bad ratings, both J.R. and Winfred get scholarship offers from UW-L. J.R.'s smart enough to take his visit right away.
Week 3
Winfred visits UW-L, though he's not exactly thrilled with Spencer Kramer already there.
Week 11
They hemmed, they hawed, and both of them got their scholarship offers yanked. Just stupid on their parts. We could've had the first ever Park teammates on the same roster.
End Season:
Tulsa has a surprisingly good year as their 5-6 record indicates. Not a winning season, but damned close. Jonathan Wilcox plays in 7 games, 2/7 for in key run blocks (28.5%) without giving up a sack. He graduates with a 2.52 GPA in Kinesiology and plans on getting his teaching license to become a gym teacher. He'll marry his green-haired anime fanatic girlfriend Veronica this summer. It still amazes me how much I enjoyed his college days, even though he didn't really do much.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Wilcox.jpg
UW-La Crosse also went 5-6. Spencer Kramer played all 11 games, starting 5 of them. He amassed 16 tackles (5 TFL), 4 assists, 2 sacks, a block, and a hurry. He might well be the best defensive lineman Park's ever produced by the end of his college days.
Year 58: 2060
DT Spencer Kramer UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS So)
Spencer's up to 25/36 and will be the starter this year, but he's only got one season to prove himself to the coaching staff because there's a hotshot freshman who's ready to take his place next year.
G Daniel Ridenour
Go away, 22 rating man.
P Skip Piper
40 rating, 3rd best punter in the state. We've been down this road before. It's over now.
QB Travis O'Reilley
819th best player in the country, 64th best QB. 15th best player in Wisconsin and the #2 ranked QB in the state. Unfortunately, like Marco Roach and Omar Berry, he's something of a moron. Unlike them, he has a good attitude and is noted for his precision passing, as opposed to Omar's rocket arm and Marco's overratedness. 55 rating by a good scout. Really wants to stay close to home, preferably a name school. Could this be our third player in Badger red and white?
Week 2
Boise State and Central Michigan make contact, but it's UW-Green Bay that offers the scholarship.
Week 5
Connecticut, San Diego State and Idaho make contact. UW-Milwaukee throws in its own scholarship offer, having fond memories of Omar Berry when his ass wasn't suspended.
Week 6
P Skip Piper makes the All-State team, but Travis O'Reilley, despite his school-record 2164 yards, 12 TDs and 4 Ints, doesn't. What Travis does get is contact from Houston and visits to UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay. The smart money is on Milwaukee.
Week 7
Idaho makes a scholarship offer and Texas Tech contacts.
Week 8
Travis visits Idaho and UW-La Crosse, as the Eagles sneak in out of nowhere to dangle a scholarship. While it'd be great to have two Panthers playing on the same college team together, everything still says UW-M.
Week 10
A decision has been made! QB Travis O'Reilley will play for...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/UWL.jpg
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Eagles!
In the end, the chance to play with an old high school teammate was too great for Travis to pass up. We have our first ever Park High college teammates!
End Season:
UW-L staggered to a 2-9 record and Spencer Kramer was beaten out for the starting job by a redshirt freshman with tremendous upside. Still, Spencer played all 11 games, starting 5. He had 12 tackles (5 TFL), 3 assists, a sack and a block.
Izulde
05-16-2007, 06:44 PM
Year 59: 2061
DT Spencer Kramer UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Jr)
31/36 would be enough to make him either the starter or top backup, but with two terrific ceiling guys not far off from him, it's likely Spencer will get relegated to second backup. Ah well, he's done a lot better than what anybody could've reasonably expected out of him when he first came out.
QB Travis O'Reilley UW-La Crosse Eagles (Fr)
At 15/60, he could be the second-stringer right now, but he's being redshirted. He has the most upside of any QB on the roster and stands a very good chance of starting his redshirt freshman year.
K Emmanuel "Double M" Burkhammer
Double M is 18 rated and so he's doubly out.
S Bryce James
28? Sim season full speed ahead!
End Season:
UW-La Crosse goes 5-6, falling just short of their first winning season since 2039. As expected, Spencer Kramer is the second backup, appearing in 10 games and notching 2 tackles (1 TFL), a block, and 2 hurries. Travis O'Reilley maintains his redshirt and disturbingly compiles a 1.26 GPA. His highest grade was a C, in Pokemon Training 101.
Year 60: 2062
DT Spencer Kramer UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Sr)
A small step back to 29/36 was rather to be expected, given that he was so close to his ceiling to begin with and was little-used last season. It looks as though he'll be the second backup his final year as well.
QB Travis O'Reilley UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Fr)
His slacking in the classroom was made up for by his efforts in football preparation as he polevaults to 31/60 and is poised, much like Omar Berry those years ago in UW-Milwaukee, to be a four-year starter at QB. Whether he can avoid the spectre of academic suspension that's haunted all of our prior Panther QBs remains to be seen.
QB A.J. Tate
I like this relative influx of QBs. I don't like his 23 rating.
DT Harry Collier
2 rating = Sucktastic. Kind of ironic that the two positions we have in college are the two prospects this year.
End Season:
Despite lofty expectations with their new QB, the Eagles crash down to earth at 3-8. Spencer Kramer does much better than expected as he not only plays all 11 games, but starts 3. 8 tackles (2 TFL), 2 assists, and 2 hurries make up his statline. He graduates with a 1.89 GPA and a Speech degree, but will pursure a career in journalism after showing suprising aptitude in his minor.

Travis O'Reilley did indeed win the starting job, but was far more Marco Roach than Omar Berry: 126-273 (46.1%), 1535 yards, 12 TDs, 23 Ints. The good news is, he didn't flunk any classes, though he again came dangerously close.
Year 61: 2063
QB Travis O'Reilley UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS So)
He makes another nice leap, to 45/60. Provided his grades stay intact, he could not only be a four-year starter, but he might be a legitimate NFL prospect, particularly if he can bring his numbers into line.
RB Cedric Swift
Neither fleet in mind (red SAT score) or body (22 rating).
End Season:
The Eagles tumble down even more, to 1-10. Travis O'Reilley has all the physical tools, but can't seem to put it together: 119-273 (43.5%) for 1389 yards, 9 TDs, 17 Ints. He does at least avoid failing a class, but he really needs to show something in his last two seasons to make the NFL look at him seriously.

Year 62: 2064
QB Travis O'Reilley UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Jr)
His rapid progress continues at 56/60, but will this finally be the breakout year everyone's been expecting of him? My guess is no, but anything's possible. If he can't get it done this season, we may as well say goodbye to his pro hopes.
TE Jimmie Burgess
Ho-hum. 20 rating = dum.
CB Daniel Gatti
14 ain't gonna cut it son, especially not with a red SAT score.
End Season:
UW-L makes significant strides in going 4-7 and so does Travis O'Reilley. To wit: 145-307 (47.3%), 1972 yards, 17 TDs and 16 Ints, all collegiate bests. Can he finally bring it all home for a miracle senior year?
Year 63: 2065
QB Travis O'Reilley UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Sr)
He's pretty much tapped out his ceiling at 55/60 and his pro dreams don't look very promising to be perfectly honest. That being said, he's the first four-year starter we've had at QB in this universe, maybe ever at any position. People are going to be debating who was better between him and Omar Berry for years to come.
CB Shane Lowe
6 is too lowe, so out you goe.
End Season:
So close, yet so far. The Eagles go 5-6, which may settle the debate at last. Travis O'Reilley does put together his greatest season in his final year, though: 170-324 (52.4%), 2281 yards, 18 TDs, 17 Ints. He also ran for 3 rushing TDs and became the Sol-8 All-Conference 1st Team QB, an unexpected honor. He graduates with a 1.29 GPA in Geology and will turn his eyes to the NFL draft.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/OReilley.jpg
Unfortunately, he fails to make the draft pool and we're all cleared out of Panthers players.
Year 64: 2066
G Matthew Benton
Another 20. *sigh*
CB Sammy Kaplan
53rd best player in the state, 6th best CB. Pretty solid academic credentials (3.12 GPA), who in fact may be the first 3.0+ GPA legit prospect we've ever had. Wants a good Education program above all else, ideally one with name. Pretty good attitude. Rated 46 and a zone master by our decent scout. It's about 50-50 that he'll get signed. Horlick, our crosstown rivals, has two players in the top 1000 nationally this year, by the way. ...Bastards.
Week 3
Troy waltzes in with a scholarship offer.
Week 8
With much trepedition, as Troy has an incredibly crappy Education program (12), Sammy visits Alabama.
Week 10
Toledo makes contact and BYU, which has a very good Education program (64) dangles a scholarship. Sammy immediately rushes out to Utah to check out BYU.
Week 11
Sammy visits Toledo too, though they're only marginally above Troy. Teh internets rumour that he'll be a Cougar.
Week 12
And just like that, they all go away. I am Jack's broken heart.
Major Bowl Week
Out of nowhere somebody came up with some kind of offer and CB Sammy Kaplan will be attending....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Football/California.gif
The University of California Golden Bears!
Wow, just wow. Fantastic Education program (76), prestige almost as good, and he goes to Berkeley on scholarship. What an awesome ending.
End Season:
California was 7-4 this year and won a 41-38 shootout over Clemson in the Outback Bowl. The Golden Bears have been just illin' in this universe they're so good. They've been to a bowl game every year from 2020-2066 and have 5 national championships. This makes them tied for third with Colorado State for most national titles, behind only Michigan (17 titles) and Virginia (10 titles - The Cavaliers have just been insane lately in this universe). The Bears boast a 589-161 all time record and a 41-16 record in bowl games. Their last national championship came in 2047. Incidentally, they were three-time consecutive national champions from 2037-2039. This is one seriously storied program.

Point taken. :) But CSU has the advantage of playing in a crappy conference, whereas Northwestern plays in a powerhouse conference where they're traditional doormats.

Eh, Northwestern has won the Big Ten a couple of times in recent years and generally have been mid-pack or so much of the time in that span. Certainly that first Northwestern Rose Bowl team back in 1995 (I think) was shocking, but they haven't been terrible.
Wake on the other hand is the all-time losingest Division I-A football program that never won more than eight games in a season until last year. Before they won the ACC last year, the last time they won it was 1970. That was also the only other time they ever won it. I think the Wildcats can beat that just in the last 10 years.
Northwestern, while not a traditional power, at least for much of its history absorbed some benefits from playing in a football conference and consequently has some football tradition. Wake has none. Period.

I stand corrected. :) But yeah, I remember that '95 Rose Bowl game. I couldn't believe that Northwestern of all teams was that good that year.
On the other hand, Wake Forest won their first title 20 years into the universe. That's quite a bit of time to build up a program. :D

Year 65: 2067
CB Sammy Kaplan California Golden Bears (Fr)
Sammy's got one hell of a pedigree to live up to, considering Charlie Harper and Rich Arpaci. Unfortunately, at 10/36, it doesn't look as though he'll even come close to matching them or becoming a starter. The redshirt year will help him, but I don't anticipate him being anything more than a nickelback.
C Johnnie Hardwick
15? Nope.
End Season:
Cal goes 10-1 and absolutely crushes Baylor 45-13 in the Orange Bowl. Sammy Kaplan has a terrific 3.26 GPA his redshirt year. He might be the first Panther to get that oh so elusive 3.0 college GPA.
Year 66: 2068
CB Sammy Kaplan California Golden Bears (RS Fr)
Smart Sammy put in considerable effort and he's up to 19/37, but he's the fourth cornerback on the roster. Any playing time he gets this year will be quite minimal, I imagine. Then again, Sammy's here mainly for the superior education he's getting.
G Ryan Reeves
31 rating is close, but no go, particularly as he's the 12th rated guard in the state.
End Season:
The Golden Bears go back a step this year at 7-4 and just narrowly top Wake Forest 24-21 in the Outback Bowl. Sammy Kaplan appears in all 11 games, getting 10 tackles, 5 assists and a hurry. More than what I expected, to be sure.
Year 67: 2069
CB Sammy Kaplan California Golden Bears (RS So)
His rapid acceleration continues, as he now stands at 29/36, but unfortunately for Sammy, the Bears have an extremely talented cornerback corps and he's fifth on the depth chart at CB. Ah well, at least he can say he's played a small role in Cal's continued success.
OLB Kenny Castillo
OMG! OMG! One of the greatest players ever to come out of Racine is a Park Panther!!! His ranking numbers: #147 nationally, #7 national OLB, #4 overall in Wisconsin, #1 OLB in the state. 94 overall by a pretty good Scout. 2.36 GPA and fair attitude are counterbalanced by a 1020 SAT score. Strength is defending the run, zone defense his weak point. He wants nothing but a name school, though if he had his druthers, he'd pick one close to home. I'm predicting Badgers red and white for him.
Week 2
Boston College offers a scholarship and Georgia Tech makes contact.
Week 3
Ohio and Rice make contact, but the big story of the week is Miami (OH)'s scholarship offer and Kenny's immediate visit. He's apparently serious about the close to him secondary concern. Miami (OH)'s prestige isn't that high, though.
Week 4
Rice and Ohio offer scholarships and when Kenny visits much more prestigious in this universe Ohio, teh internets spread the rumour that he's going to be a Bobcat. I'm still waiting for Madison to step in and knock everyone else out.
Week 5
Georgia Tech finally makes a scholarship offer and Lakeland College in Sheboygan and Notre Dame put in offers as well. Some are predicting the Fighting Irish at this point, but most are holding firm to Ohio.
Week 6
OLB Kenny Castillo has decided, the fast choice in Park High history! He'll be playing for...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Football/Miami_OH.gif
The University of Miami (OH) Redhawks!!
Wow. The only thing I can think of is maybe he's guaranteed of being a four-year starter for the Redhawks. Incidentally, he was named to the All-State team, obliterating school records with 101 tackles, 12.5 sacks and 3 interceptions. There may never be a player this great ever again in Panther history.
End Season:
California returns to the Orange Bowl after finishing 10-1 and wins 28-14 over the mighty Michigan Wolverines! Sammy Kaplan fights his way in 10 games and has an even better campaign than last year with 14 tackles (4 TFL), 2 assists, a sack, and a hurry.
Miami (OH) went 6-5 on the year and were denied a bowl game, but they've been surprisingly good in this universe. Their last losing record was 21 years ago, in 2048 and the Redhawks have a 10-6 record in bowl games, their last victory coming last year in a 19-10 defeat of Kent State in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Year 68: 2070
CB Sammy Kaplan California Golden Bears (RS Jr)
Sammy hits the weight room hard over the summer and as a result, makes a vast improvement that's absolutely unexpected. He goes from 29/36 to 44/60 and has an outside shot at becoming a starter! Could he turn into a legitimate NFL prospect?
OLB Kenny Castillo Miami (OH) Redhawks (Fr)
He comes in raw, but with an incredible ceiling at 29/81. Right now, he'd be the odd man out in a surprisingly talented Redhawks linebacking corps, so he'll take a redshirt and work on developing his game.
WR Albert Malone
Been a while since we had one of these guys, but 18 isn't good enough.
K Brenden Buckley
32 won't cut the mustard on a specialist.
End Season:
California turns in a respectable 8-3 season before Texas A&M unexpectedly bitchslaps them 38-0 in the Disney Bowl. Sammy Kaplan doesn't start, but he plays in all the games and defends his first pass. He also has 16 tackles (1 TFL), 2 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a hurry. Not bad, all in all.
Miami of Oho is 8-3, too, but they don't play in the Pac-10 and so they're denied a bowl bid. Kenny Castillo shows a 1.56 GPA and almost flunks a class. Not cool. Not cool at all.
Year 69: 2071
CB Sammy Kaplan California Golden Bears (RS Sr)
45/60 isn't much improvement, but he's already a lot higher than what we thought he'd be. The Golden Bears' star quarterback and cornerback both get suspended, so it'll be a long year in Berkeley. On the other hand, Sammy may get to be a starter his senior year as a result.
OLB Kenny Castillo Miami (OH) Redhawks (RS Fr)
My jaw just hit the floor. In his redshirt year, he just exploded, going up to 55/81. The scary part is, the Redhawks linebacking unit is so good that Kenny might squeezed out of a starting spot, even though he's the #2 backer in current.
WR Jon Humphries:
It's a bad year for players in Wisconsin when a 28 rating is the 44th best player in the state, 5th best wide receiver. He might still get a look, though, because of the rankings. Poor attitude and academics. Wants to stay close to home at a name school.
Week 3
Bowling Green makes contact.
Week 9
Air Force makes contact.
Week 10
Oklahoma State inquires after Mr. Humphries.
Week 11
Air Force and Oklahoma State go away.
Week 12
Indiana checks Jon out.
Week 13
The Hoosiers leave and Central Florida investigates.
Week 14
All this contact must have made interest in Jon really shoot up, because it just explodes this week. Ball State, Central Florida, and Miami (OH) make walk-on offers and, oddly enough, North Texas and Texas Christian offer him a scholarship. Jon immediately hurries to Texas to make a tour and it looks like he'll play for the Mean Green.
Conference Championships
A decision has been made! WR Jon Humphries will be attending...

The University of North Texas Mean Green!
Sure it's farther away from home than he wanted, but they offered him a scholarship. No way was he going to turn down a free ride.
End Season:
California goes a perfect 11-0, but the Golden Bears are wrongfully denied a title shot. The fans scream bloody murder, but perhaps they're right, for Cal only barely squeaks by Utah 19-14 in the Sugar Bowl. Sammy Kaplan doesn't start his senior year, but he plays 10 games and records his first college interception that he returns 63 yards for a touchdown! He also defended 2 passes and racked up 18 tackles (2 TFL), 3 assists, and a sack. Sammy asked for and kept the game ball that he returned the interception for a TD with, which will be his prized possession.
He also becomes the first ever Park alumnus to graduate with a 3.0 or better GPA in college as he gets his degree in Education with a 3.15 GPA. Congratulations, Sammy! His NFL prospects are pretty dim, but that doesn't matter. If he doesn't cut it, he's got a fine career as a teacher or administrator ahead of him.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Football/Kaplan.jpg
Miami of Ohio goes a respectable 7-4 but is again denied a bowl bid. Kenny Castillo wins the starting job and records 40 tackles (6 TFL), 13 assists, a sack, a block, a hurry, 2 interceptions and 3 passes defensed. So all in all, a fairly decent year, though nothing that lights up the league or anything.
North Texas finishes 6-5 and they've been astonishingly good in this universe. The last time they had a losing record was all the way back in 2029 (4-7). They've also had 6 perfect seasons in their history and have a nice 22-13 all-time bowl game record, their most recent win 21-17 against Lakeland in the 2067 New Orleans Bowl, also the last year the Mean Green went bowling.
Sammy Kaplan doesn't make the NFL draft pool, but he had a lot more success in college than anyone could've anticipated and that makes up for it.

Year 70: 2072
OLB Kenny Castillo Miami (OH) Redhawks (RS So)
He may be awful in the classroom, but there's no doubting Kenny's football ability. 71/81 in his sophomore season is simply sensational. It also makes him the top-rated Redhawks linebacker and a surefire starter.
WR Jon Humphries University of North Texas Mean Green (Fr)
Jon was extremely lucky to even get a scholarship as his 0/11 rating testifies. He'll likely improve past that and get playing time at some point in his college career, because of the five receivers ahead of them, two are seniors and two are juniors as of this year.
TE Jorge Cleveland
9 isn't fine.
QB Al Cochrane
Loaded Wisconsin class this year as 23 rating is 12th best at the position in the state.
DT Rob Francis
1 rating, 1.98 red GPA and 782 SAT. May be the worst prospect ever.
WR Emmanuel Pierce
30th best player in the state, 5th best Wisconin receiver. Bad academics, poor attitude. Idolizes UW-Parkside. 43 rating by a terrible scout. Like Jon Humphries, catches the ball in traffic but has bad actual hands. Desparately wants to stay close to home, team prestige a secondary concern.
Week 3
Marshall makes contact and Tulsa, interestingly enough, offers a scholarship. The race to be the first non-state school to have more than one Panther in this universe is on.
Week 5
West Virginia makes contact.
And then I accidentally hit Simulate Entire Year
Week Whatever #
WR Emmanuel Pierce will be attending...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Football/Tulsa.gif
The University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane!
Awesome to see, but I really wish I hadn't hit Sim Entire Year accidentally. Part of the reason for me even doing this dynasty is seeing the interplay of schools and the back and forth for recruits :( Emmanuel Pierce did become the first Panther in school history to break the 1,000 yards receiving barrier though, at 1,175. Congratulations Emmanuel!
End Season:
Miami of Ohio finally gets back to a bowl game after a 9-2 season. They demolish Fresno State 31-5 in the Houston Bowl. Kenny Castillo puts up 45 tackles (14 TFL!), 17 assists, and 3 passes defensed. He hasn't turned into the explosive gamebreaker anyone's hoped for, but he's still got two years to make his production match his talents.
North Texas also goes 9-2 and gets a bowl bid, just barely nipping their in-state opponents Rice 27-20 in the Spuds Bowl. Yeah I don't know what it's actually supposed to be either. I changed the boring bowl names around some when I edited the bowls to be more like real life. Jon Humphries continues the not so proud tradition of bad Panther athletes with a 1.22 GPA.
Tulsa has their first winning record since 2004 at 7-4, but it's not enough to get them a bowl game. This abberation aside, they've been just dreadful since Jonathan Wilcox graduated in 2059.
Year 71: 2073
OLB Kenny Castillo Miami (OH) Redhawks (RS Jr)
Kenny becomes the first Excellent rated player in Park High history with a 92/92 rating! If he can even come up with half the production his talent indicates, he'll be an absolute beast this year.
WR Jon Humphries University of North Texas Mean Green (RS Fr)
1/11 is enough to make him the fourth wide receiver, so he should get a few balls here and there. You'd think he'd be busting his butt in the classroom since he got luck with the scholarship, but nope.
WR Emmanuel Price Tulsa Golden Hurricane (Fr)
9/15? Ouch! I thought he was a lot better than that, but he'll get a redshirt year in to try and build on that. We haven't been known for great wide receivers at Park in this universe or, to be honest, in real life and it shows. (Side Note: The Park High Panthers in reality are known for a long line of successful running backs and the occassional surpremely talented lineman as in the case of Kevin Barry, who I graduated with.)
OLB Randy Hickman
51st best player in the state, 5th best linebacker. Idolizes UW-Parkside. Pretty good academics, good attitude. Primarily a pass-rusher. Rated 43 by a good scout. Values distance and team prestige equally.
S Tracy Mayes
1 rating? Nah, don't like that.
Week 8
BYU makes contact and UW-La Crosse extends a scholarship. Randy immediately heads to the west border to check out the Eagles. I'm seriously hungry for a Country Kitchen French bread pizza now.
Week 9
A decision's made! OLB Randy Hickman will play for....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/UWL.jpg
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Eagles!!
Smart man. Very smart, in fact. Rather than holding out like so many other prospects we've had over the years, he takes advantage of the scholarship and goes to a school that's top-notch in his program. Randy also, incidentally, set the Park school record in sacks with 9.
End Season:
The Miami (OH) Redhawks win the MAC title with an 11-1 record and go on to thrash Texas 42-14 in the Independence Bowl. Kenny Castillo has 51 tackles (7 TFL), 18 assists, an interception, and 3 passes defensed on the year, good enough to make him the MAC All-Conference 1st Team OLB!. He's the first non-Sol 8 All-Conference player in Park High history!
North Texas regresses to 7-4 and the Mean Green are denied a bowl bid. Jon Humphries appears in all 11 games and catches 2 passes for 17 yards, with one drop.
Tulsa proves that last year was a fluke, as the Golden Hurricane plunge to 0-11 this season. Emmanuel Pierce comes close to the 2.0 GPA mark, but falls just short at 1.88.
Izulde
05-21-2007, 11:53 AM
Year 72: 2074
OLB Kenny Castillo Miami (OH) Redhawks (RS Sr)
Kenny, the greatest player in Park High history, is at 94/94 and will be making a run for some kind of first team honors in his final season after making the MAC 1st team last year. Possessed with enormous talent, it hasn't necessarily translated into the kind of on-field dominance one would expect. In any case, he's a surefire bet for the NFL draft pool.
WR Jon Humphries University of North Texas Mean Green (RS So)
Even at a lowly 4/11, Jon's still the fourth-best receiver on the Mean Green and can expect some type of playing time. He certainly appears to have made the right choice in going to UNT.
WR Emmanuel Price University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane (RS Fr)
At 16/16, he's the sixth best receiver on the team and will probably not see time on the field unless there's an injury. It's funny, if he'd gone to UNT with Jon Humphries he could be a potential starter. Here, he's just a practice body.
OLB Randy Hickman UW-La Crosse Eagles (Fr)
Randy's got the highest upside of any of the other UW-L OLBs, but he's still extremely raw at 12/57. In addition, the oldest guy at the position is a true junior and there's only one of him. Randy's going to have to improve quickly if he wants a shot at playing early.
ILB Kerry Chapman
25 rating won't be enough.
G Sedrick Herbert
15'll get you 20... 20 minutes of D-3 ball maybe.
K Mercury Oliver
Sweet name. 10 is ugly though, even for a position player.
Even though no new prospects are headed to D-I, four players in college in one year either ties the highest or sets a new record. Pretty nice considering the drought we had for a while there!
End Season:
Miami (OH) has another great season, going 10-1 before knocking off Texas Tech 16-6 in the Motor City Bowl. Kenny Castillo has his best season since his RS sophomore year, racking up 52 tackles (18 TFL!), 14 assists and 2 passes defensed. It's enough for him to garner MAC All-Conference 2nd Team OLB honours! Congratulations, Kenny! He'll graduate with a horrendous 1.44 GPA in Algebra, but he's all about the NFL dreams.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/castillo.jpg
North Texas stumbles down the stretch, losing three straight to take them out of a bowl game, but they still finish with a winning record at 6-5. Jon Humphries had a fantastic year, appearing in all 11 games and even getting a start. He had 26 catches for 442 yards (17.0 average), 5 TDs and 6 drops, which is far, far more than I ever thought he'd get.
Tulsa was surprisingly competitive at 5-6. Emmanuel Pierce was on the field for 20 plays and was the target of two passes.
UW-La Crosse went 2-9 after going 3-8 last season. Since Travis O'Reilley's senior year in 2064, the Eagles have continued their stretch of losing seasons, including a ghastly 0-11 2048 campaign. Randy Hickman had his redshirt pulled and wound up starting 3 games in which he recorded 7 tackles, 5 assists, and a pass defense. You hate to see them burn a redshirt like that, but it does explain why there's only one successfully red-shirted OLB on the roster. Even with the commitments of unexpected starting time, Randy still pulled a beaut of a 3.14 GPA, a welcome change from our dunderhead Panthers.
The scouting report on Kenny:
SLB Kenny Castillo Miami (OH) Redhawks
6'0" 224 lbs
MAC All-Conference 1st Team and 2 Team his junior and senior years respectively. Can play all linebacker positions and defensive end. Even saw time at safety. Fast (4.59 40), but not very bright. Relied on his speed to stop runners in the backfield for negative yards 45 times in college. Doesn't appear to be as good a run defender as his college numbers suggest. Wants to play for a winner. Best suited to a zone scheme.
Outlook:
A likely backup and rotation guy. Doesn't appear to have the intelligence to become a starter. 7th round or UDRFA. Final Grade: 5.3 (5.1 Adjusted)
Kenny Castillo is taken by the Cleveland Browns with the 11th pick in the 5th round! We have our first NFL draftee!!!!!!
He signs a 3 year, $1.65 million deal with the Browns that includes a $150,000 signing bonus. Way to go Kenny!!!

Year 73: 2075
SLB Kenny "Woot" Castillo Cleveland Browns (Rookie)
Rated a surprisingly low 21/26 before camp, he improves to 23/29 after camp, showing a very encouraging +2/+3 gain that bodes well for the future. I was a little nervous when I saw they'd drafted an incredible SILB named Kim Blood, but fortunately they move the stud to MLB, freeing Kenny up to be the main backup on the strong side.
Since he's our first ever actual drafted NFL player, Kenny's card:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Castillopro.jpg
The Dawgs are one of the mediocre teams in this universe, with a sub-.500 all-time record and 23 playoff appearances, the last one a wildcard round loss to the New England Patriots in 2072. They've been to two Super Bowls and lost both of them: a 31-28 heartbreaker against the Minnesota Vikings in 2068 and an equally gut-wrenching 27-24 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2044.
The Browns' strongest run came in the 2060s, when they made the playoffs 7 out of 10 years that decade and got the aforementioned Super Bowl appearance, largely on the arms of two QB: First, beloved Joe Walker who played 15 years in the NFL (2051-2065), all with the Cleveland Browns after being a first round selection (#13 overall) in the 2051 draft, was a 2nd Team All-Pro in 2058 and was named the 2065 Legend of the Game. He was the starter from 2055-2064, until a knee injury derailed him in 2065.
Second, the terrifically named Daryl Troutman, the Browns' 2057 4th rounder (28th pick in the rounder), who became Walker's successor after Joe's 2065 routine and not only joined the Two-Mile Club in 2066 and 2070, but who also threw for 330 yards in the 2068 Super Bowl loss. He played for the team for 15 years as well, from 2057-2071 and was the starter from 2065 until his retirement.
WR Jon Humphries University of North Texas Mean Green (RS Jr)
5/10 is still good enough to be the Mean Green's 4th receiver, which is pretty miraculous. With two better freshman being redshirted this year though, this is likely Jon's last season to get any playing time worth talking about.
WR Emmanuel Price Tulsa Golden Hurricane (RS So)
At 20/20, Emmanuel's battled his way up to third receiver on the team, so he should see some significant playing time this year, unless he's bumped down to 4th receiver by virtue of the guy below him having an awesome ceiling.
OLB Randy Hickman UW-La Crosse Eagles (So)
Randy takes one of the biggest tumbles we've seen this universe, dropping all the way down to 7/39. With that in mind, the Eagles' coaching staff are going to once again try and redshirt him this year, so he can get his football head on straight.
No Park prospects this year.
End Season:
North Texas plays strong all year and the Mean Green go 9-2 en route to putting the smackdown 37-7 on SMU in the Spuds Bowl. Jon Humphries appears in 6 games and has 9 catches for 103 yards, 2 TDs, and, most importantly, no drops.
Tulsa is so awful they finish 0-11 and Emmanuel Price is part of that terrible showing. In 11 games, 2 of which are starts, he catches just one pass of the 15 that are directed to him, for 9 yards. Worse yet, he actually drops 3 passes he should've had.
UW-La Crosse takes the mid-road of suckiness in putting together a 2-9 season. Randy Hickman keeps his redshirt on all year this time and it's much needed.
As for the Cleveland Browns, they give themselves the #1 overall pick in the draft by virtue of their NFL-worst 1-15 record. Kenny "Woot" Castillo plays in all 16 games, recording 24 tackles, 5 assists, a hurry, and a QB knockdown, a respectable rookie campaign for a mid-5th rounder I'd say.
Year 74: 2076
SLB Kenny "Woot" Castillo Cleveland Browns (2nd year)
The Browns' staff really liked what they saw out of Kenny's rookie year and he made nice strides in training camp as well. As a result, he's now up to 32/32, the biggest gains coming in run defense and pass rush technique. Even more incredibly, Cleveland names him as the starting SLB, giving us our second NFL starter and our first multi-year NFL player in Park High history!. Kenny loves playing for the Browns and he loves the state of Ohio, where he went to college and now plays in the pros. He'll never return to Wisconsin.
WR Jon Humphries University of North Texas Mean Green (RS Sr)
Jon stayed at 5/10, meaning he's the fifth receiver and not likely to see much playing time at all in his final year. Even in spite of that, however, he's seen the field a lot more than anyone could've expected him to get and he's happy to have played for UNT.
WR Emmanuel Price University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane (RS Jr)
Emmanuel's up to 18/18, once again making him the third receiver, but one has to wonder if he'll get many opportunities given how horribly he played last season. Then again, the Golden Hurricane is one of the worst programs in the country, so anything's possible.
OLB Randy Hickman UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS So)
Thanks to one of his rivals for playing time getting academically suspended, 16/39 Randy has a very good chance at being a starter this year! With a 3.01 cumulative GPA, Mr. Hickman certainly has little chance of getting put on academic probation, so he'll be looking to make the most of the opportunity that's been given to him.
For the first time ever, we have two straight years of no Park High prospects. Hard to complain though, given that we've had four players to track, including our first legitimate NFL player.
End Season:
North Texas finishes 7-4, but it's not enough to get them into another bowl game. Jon Humphries has a very quiet senior year with 1 catch for 9 yards and a drop. He graduates with the ignoble distinction of the lowest GPA in Park High history at 1.19, but he was pretty good with in his Algebra major. It was a fun college career to watch at any rate. I like seeing the guys who overachieve in performance relative to their talent.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Humphries.jpg
Tulsa repeats their 0-11 record from last season, further proving the winning record of a few seasons ago to be an absolute fluke. Emmanuel Price appears in all 11 games again and gets another start. This year, he's much better, with 7 catches for 254 yards and 2 TDs. His 4 drops aren't nearly so bad in that light.
UW-La Crosse improves to 4-7, but Randy Hickman can only take a very small bit of credit for the success as he lost the bid for the starting job. In 11 games, he notched 6 tackles (2 TFL), 2 assists, a sack and a pass defensed. Disappointing that he wasn't a starter, but maybe he'll get a chance next season.
The Cleveland Browns were much-improved this season, to the point of being competitive at 5-11. Cleveland experimented by having Kenny "Woot" Castillo play on the weak side even though he's much more experienced at the strong side and is still listed there. Despite being out of position, he still was the starter and amassed 57 tackles, 14 assists, 2 sacks, and 3 passes defensed. While he probably won't ever light up the league or be a star, Kenny's gradually proving himself to be a respectable NFL linebacker.

Year 75: 2077
SLB Kenny "Woot" Castillo Cleveland Browns (3rd year)
I forgot to mention that last season Kenny got a Player of the Week mention, though I don't remember exactly when. Way to go, Kenny! He's up to 38/38 and in the final year of his rookie contract. Unfortunately, our lone legit pro won't be starting this season, as the Browns signed a better SLB in free agency. Still, he'll be a primary backup and appears to have improved himself to the point that he has a good chance of getting another contract in the offseason, if not from Cleveland, then from someone else.
WR Emmanuel Pierce University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane (RS Sr)
After years of getting his name misspelled, Pierce concludes his collegiate career at 21/21, which makes the fifth receiver even on this terrible team. Like Jon Humphries, he'll probably have a very quiet senior year.
OLB Randy Hickman UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Jr)
Randy increases only marginally at 18/39, making him the 4th OLB on the roster only by virtue of one of the boys ahead of him getting suspended for the year for academic reasons. Not likely to see the field much at all.
T Marc Tate
Respectable academics, a 46 rating by a terrible scout, good attitude, 65th best player in the state and 9th best tackle means he has a slim chance of getting signed. A better pass blocker than run blocker. Really wants a name school, closeness a secondary interest.
S Roosevelt Wieland
38 rating by an excellent scout and mediocre academics, but he's also the 3rd best safety in Wisconsin, which might land him a chance (#75 in Wisconsin). A ballhawk who is ill-fitted for single coverage schemes. Poor attitude with closeness and name of equl value.
Week 3
Tulsa makes contact with Marc and UW-La Crosse offers a scholarship. Troy contacts Roosevelt.
Week 4
Marc visits UW-L.
Week 5
Troy and Tulsa give Marc scholarship offers and Wyoming makes contact with him.
Week 6
Bowling Green makes contact with Roosevelt in a year that's seeing a lot of familiar out of state schools look into our guys.
Week 7
A decision has been made! T Marc Tate, the latest in a long line of Panthers offensive line greats, will play for...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/UWL.jpg
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Eagles!
Troy also mails Roosevelt a scholarship offer.
Week 8
Roosevelt, seeing no other offers, visits Troy.
Week 9
We have our second commitment this year! S Roosevelt Wieland shall attend....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Football/Troy_St.gif
The Troy State Trojans!
End Season:
Tulsa has a surprisingly strong year for them at 4-7 and Emmanuel Pierce matches that shock by unexpectedly winning a starting spot. He has his finest season ever with 20 catches for 282 yards, 4 TDs and 3 drops. He'll graduate with a 1.59 GPA in Trigonometry and probably do nothing related to the field.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Football/Pierce.jpg
UW-L slips and slides to a 1-10 finish. Randy Hickman appears in 9 games, picking up 5 tackles and 2 passes defensed.
Troy's last winning season was 2074 at 6-5, but the team has an all-time .250 winning % and they're one of 17 teams left in the universe never to have been to a bowl game.
Cleveland continues its steady improvement as the Browns go 7-9 this year, but Kenny "Woot" Castillo fails to make the team out of preseason and is cut before Week 1. He then spends the entire year on the free agent list with nobody calling. Although he stands a good chance of getting signed in the next free agent period, he opts for retirement so that all of his post-high school football memories are in his beloved Ohio.

Racine Park High 75th Anniversary All-Time Panthers Team
QB Omar Berry (2053) UW-Milwaukee Panthers*
Supremely talented QB who threw for over 3000 yards in a season as a starter for the UW-Milwaukee Panthers. Was a Sol-8 1st Team All-Conference player in that year. Academic difficulties led to his suspension and he subsequently declared for the draft before his senior year. Came out too early and never signed with a team.
WR Jon Humphries (2071) University of North Texas Mean Green*
Got an unexpected scholarship offer from UNT and overacheived to become a role player on some very solid Mean Green teams, including a bowl winner or two.
WR Emmanuel Pierce (2072) University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane*
Much higher expectations than those for Humphries ended in disappointment, as while he improved each year and was even a starter his senior season, he turned out to have a limited ceiling, even for a horrendous Tulsa team.
C Jonathan Wilcox (2055) University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane*
A walk-on at Tulsa, he was the starter his freshman year and a top backup the rest of his college days, Jonathan was a respectable center for a wretched team and Park's first four-year player.
G George Parnell (2051 - All-State) University of Missouri Tigers
A great backup for two of the three years he saw at Mizzou, he was a starter his senior year and played quite well in full-time duty. Could've started more than his final season, had it not been for the coaching staff's undervaluing his talents.
T Ricky Jarvis (2020) UW-La Crosse Eagles
Classic overachiever who was Park's first-ever All-Conference selection when he made the Sol-8 All-Conference Second team his junior year.
DE Jerry Horton (2015) University of Texas Longhorns
The first Panther to see extensive playing time at the collegiate level, his Longhorn years occurred during a fallow period in UT-Austin's storied history.
DT Spencer Kramer (2057) UW-La Crosse Eagles
Part-time starter for the Eagles throughout his collegiate career, but never really did wow anyone.
DE: Craig Desai (2014)
OLB Kenny "Woot" Castillo (2069 - All-State) Miami (OH) Redhawks, Cleveland Browns*
The only player in Park High history to record 100+ tackles and 10+ sacks in his senior year. Made the MAC All-Conference 1st and 2nd teams one time a piece in college, the first non Sol-8 All-Conference star in Panther history. Also the first Park alum ever drafted in the NFL draft when he was taken by the Cleveland Browns in the 5th round, 11th pick. Played two seasons for the Browns, the last year as a starter.
ILB: Danny Fields (2004)
ILB: T.J. Ellison (2016)
OLB Randy Hickman (2073) UW-La Crosse Eagles
Consistent backup for the Eagles throughout his college career. Started off strong academically before going into a swoon his junior year to dash hopes of becoming just the second Park D-I football man to graduate with a 3.0 or better GPA (Sammy Kaplan was the first, with 3.15)
CB Charlie Harper (2025 - All-State) UW-Milwaukee Panthers, Buffalo Bills
The third All-State player in the history of Park's program. Three-year starter for the UW-M Panthers and was Milwaukee's career leader in passes defensed when he graduated. Signed a UDRFA deal with the Bills and played one season before retiring.
CB Rich Arpaci (2037 - All-State) University of Wisconsin Badgers, Atlanta Falcons
S Roosevelt Wieland (2077) Troy State Trojans*
Entering his freshman year at Troy State. The first legitimate safety prospect in Park High history.
S: Sean Bailey (2030)
K: Shawn Castle (2030)
P: Skip Piper (2060 - All-State)*

Year 76: 2078
OLB Randy Hickman UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Sr)
Puts in a bit more effort and improves to 22/39, good enough to make him the third linebacker and get some considerable playing time in his senior year.
T Marc Tate UW-La Crosse Eagles (Fr)
Our second set of college teammates and once again, they're playing for the Eagles. Marc has the second highest potential of the Eagles' tackles, but he's as raw as you can get at 1/52. It goes without saying that he'll be redshirted to hopefully begin to fill in that promise.
S Roosevelt Wieland Troy State Trojans (Fr)
Could be the third safety right now at 11/29, but the Trojans coaching staff wants to redshirt Roosevelt to give him some time to develop. Nothing wrong with that.
QB Drew Barber
5 rating? Yeah, okay. Bye.
WR Hunter Starks
5 for the QB and 5 for the WR = 0 for D-I hopes.
End Season:
UW-La Crosse has its usual pitiful season at 2-9. Randy Hickman was off to his best start ever before dislocating his elbow and ending his senior year. Before that injury, he appeared in 6 games, with 2 starts, and recorded 12 tackles (1 TFL), 4 assists and a hurry. He graduates with an average 2.30 GPA in Calculus.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Hickman.jpg
Marc Tate stayed redshirted and garnered a respectable 2.80 GPA to start his college life.
Troy went 3-8 and Roosevelt Wieland kept his redshirt, posting a fine 3.20 GPA for his own redshirt year.

Year 77: 2079
T Marc Tate UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Fr)
Gains were made, but they were quite small, as Marc went up to 6/52, making him second to last among the Eagles tackles. That's not the way to get playing time, even on a historically poor team like this.
S Roosevelt Wieland Troy State Trojans (RS Fr)
Roosevelt made some very nice strides, increasing to 20/29. It's enough to not only have him stay the third safety behind two very good starters, but get a very good shot at being the starter by next season.
S Kerry Finley
At 22, he's even worse than Wieland was.
TE Benjamin Vera
25 is getting better, but still not signable.
CB Ellis Hampton
3? *laff*
CB Travis Tippett
The second half of the Dunder Twins is rated 20. He won't get picked up either.
End Season:
UW-La Crosse bumbled along to a woeful 2-9 record. Marc Tate appeared in some plays, but didn't record a single statistic.
Troy matched the Eagles' 2-9 mark and Roosevelt Wieland fared a little better than Marc, recording a tackle and an assist in the same number of plays. Quite disappointing, really.
Year 78: 2080
T Marc Tate UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS So)
A deplorable tackle situation at La Crosse means that despite Marc's wretched 10/52 rating, he's the top backup tackle and hence likely to get some increased playing time. Better still, the two starters are seniors, which means open competition next year on the bookend spots.
S Roosevelt Wieland Troy State Trojans (RS So)
At 21/29, Roosevelt should have one of the starting safety spots firmly locked up, unless the Trojans decide to go with the talented but raw freshman over him. In any case, as the other starter is a senior, maybe Roosevelt can sneak in the starting lineup next year if he doesn't make it this season.
CB Leroy Bailey
The line of mediocre CBs continues, this one at 17.
End Season:
UW-L improves marginally, to 3-8, with Marc Tate appearing in roughly the same number of plays last year, 1/4 in key run block opportunities, while surrendering two sacks.
Troy finishes 4-7 and Roosevelt Wieland is indeed named the starter. In 11 games (9 starts) he records 31 tackles (7 TFL), 12 assists, a sack, and a pass defense.

Year 79: 2081
T Marc Tate UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Jr)
15/52 nominally is good enough to make him one of the two starting tackles, but the range on his competition is from 7-18 current, so anything at all is possible, including him getting shut out of the picture entirely.
S Roosevelt Wieland Troy State Trojans (RS Jr)
Roosevelt gets the usual good jump that comes from being a starter, improving to 31/31. He'll once again command a starting spot in the Trojans' lineup and has really pushed himself farther than anyone could've expected.
DT Kent Kaplan
Our second 0 rated player! By an Excellent scout, no less!
OLB Leonard Wright
A rare specimen of smart Panther alum. 44th best player in the state, 3rd best Wisconsin OLB. Despite intelligence, has poor attitude. A sack artist with a 49 rating by a fair scout, he's weakest at the zone. Values closeness and academics equally.
S Harris O'Donnell
The next Park Panther NFL alum? I'm sure hoping his #577 national ranking, 45th best safety in the country, 17th Wisconsin athlete and 2nd best state safety does the trick. His academics are only mediocre, however and his attitude is only fair. Excels in a man scheme, but don't count on him to return kicks. Rated 68 by an Excellent scout, which means his pro prospects don't look so hot. He'll draw lots of attention, though. Academics and name are held in equal measure.
Week 2
And the gun starts early with Leonard getting scholarship offers from UNLV and Troy, with Miami Hurricanes making contact. Harris only gets contact from Boise State.
And then I stupidly hit Simulate to End of Year and crash TCY trying to get the simming to stop.
When I reload, I find out that I didn't save before commencing recruitment and get stuck with a couple scrub Park prospects
I'm so irate I think I'm just going to close up shop on this one and pick up another TCY/FOF dynasty with a different angle.

T Marc Tate UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Jr)
16/52 now has him tied for the highest current on the team, which should get him the start, but as before, there's a group of closely clumped together tackles, so anything at all can happen.
S Roosevelt Wieland Troy State Trojans (RS Jr)
The scout doesn't view him nearly as highly this time, 27/28, but it's still enough to pencil his name in as a starter again.
T Allen Douglas
22? Meh.
End Season:
The Eagles have their first competitive season in eons, but still fall short of a winning record at 5-6. Marc Tate wins a starting spot and promptly stinks up the joint: 3/17 (17.6%) on key run blocks with 10 sacks surrendered. Now that's some seriously bad playing.
Troy has a wretched 2-9 season, but our Park alum fares considerably better than his UW-L counterpart. Roosevelt Wieland gets his first collegiate interception and defends 5 passes to go along with his 52 tackles (9 TFL) and 21 assists. It's his most successful season by far.

T Marc Tate UW-La Crosse Eagles (RS Sr)
24/52 makes Marc tied for the second-best on the team and his main rival performed infinitely better than Tate did last year. Thus, there's a very good chance that Marc may be relegated to backup duty in his final season. Quite frankly, after the way he played last year, I'd pull him from the lineup, too, but who knows? The Eagles may opt to go with experience.
S Roosevelt Wieland Troy State Trojans (RS Sr)
Roosevelt will stay a starter at 34/34, the highest current on the team, even though the second-highest at 30 has a lot of upside to be filled. It's been fun watching Roosevelt be a major player for a bad team and I look forward to seeing a good final year from him.
TE Graham Bender
Cool name. Sucky rating (9).
WR Horace Flynn
28's a lot better, but sadly not enough.
DT Ian Humphrey
Our 3rd 0 rating player!
I also notice, much to my displeasure, that Case has the #102 player in the country, an ILB.
End Season:
UW-L comes crashing back down to the hard, hard earth of a hardcore sucking team with a 2-9 mark. Marc Tate can't be blamed for the crash, though, as he had his finest season in this last year. He not only fended off his challenger for the starting job, he also was 8/33 (24.2%) on key run blocks and gave up just half the sacks from his junior year at 5. Marc graduates with a respectable 2.81 GPA in his Marketing Degree, his highest grades ironically coming in his minor of Tablod Journalism.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Tate.jpg
Troy State doubles its win total and goes to 4-7. Roosevelt Wieland was relegated to nickel duty as the Trojans decided to go with higher ceiling guys. Despite the demotion, he picked off 2 passes, running one all the way back for a TD! He also defended 2 passes to go with his 15 tackles (1 TFL) and 4 assists. Because of his reduced playing time, Roosevelt had a sensational senior year in the classroom to pull his graduating GPA all the way up to 2.51. He graduates with an Algebra degree.

Finally back on my PC and does it ever feel good! Was stuck on a Mac for a few days this week (when I had Net access period) and damned near broke out in hives.
In any case, this isn't about computers, it's about the Park High alums! So let's get this show on, shall we?
Year 81: 2083
...Oh wait, no college players to report on.
Any prospects?
RB Freddie Lyon
Ugh, 2 rating. Yeah, say hello to a long stretch of bad years.
Year 82: 2084

2 for 2 in 2 rating! 8 players from the city of Racine this year, none of them worth much of a damn.
I'll try another couple seasons before I go to bed tonight.

Year 83: 2085
T Charles Wiggins
The run of 2's continues with a 22 rating. It's fascinating in a gallows humour sort of way.
Year 84: 2086
DE Malcom Irwin
Yes!!! The roll of 2's was a lucky one as we come up with a guy who has NFL potential written all over him! 6'1", 222(!) lbs., good attitude, pretty good academics, rated 82 by our excellent scout. Although more of a runstopper than a passrusher at this point in his career, he's rated the 115th best player in the entire country, the closest we've ever come to a Top 100 player! 18th best DE in the US, 2nd best player in Wisconsin, which is the best we've done there too, and top DE. I am henceforth going to nickname him Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin. Closeness to home and academics are equally valued, which leads me to believe he'll be wearing Badger red and white.
Week 2
Things start off slow with just a contact from Boston College.
Week 3
Uh oh. Lawrence University makes a scholarship offer. Stanford makes contact. Interestingly enough, out of the three schools that have contacted Mr. Two so far, Lawrence has the lowest rated Philosophy program at 70. BC and Stanford are 92 and 96 respectively.
Week 4
A whole lot of yellow on the screen as UCLA (88 program, 98 prestige) and Vanderbilt (95 program, 80 prestige) initiate contact. Internet rumour has him pegged for a Commodore, should Vandy extend an offer.
Week 5
My glee at seeing a scholarship offer turns to a rolling, sickening sensation in my stomach when I see that it's Lakeland College of the 85 rated program and 73 miles away. UW-Green Bay gets in on the contact fun as well. Come on, big programs. Where are your offers?!
Week 6
Army makes contact and everyone else keeps ho-humming around, not willing to take the Nestea plunge and make an offer. Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin makes the All-State team and sets school records at DE with 85 tackles, 13 sacks and an interception. Incidentally, that's also a Park High sacks record, a half-sack better than the legendary Kenny "Woot" Castillo had in his senior year. Congrats, Malcom!
Week 7
Here comes the cavalry, here comes the cavalry to save the day!!!!! The Badgers of UW-Madison (99 program, 83 miles) make a scholarship offer along with the UW-Green Bay Phoenix and the Stanford Cardinal. Malcom gleefully visits Madison and also checks out Lakeland College. Teh internets, they sayin dat boy sack real good in red and white.
Week 8
Clear the board folks, because we're down to five finalists and they are: Lawrence University, UW-Green Bay, Lakeland College, Stanford and Wisconsin. All signs still point to Madison, though it'd be cool to see him in the Pac-10. Just as long as he doesn't go Sol-8...
Week 9
A decision has been reached! DE Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin will be attending....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Football/Wisconsin.gif
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Badgers!!!!!
Much celebration ensues. Malcom's in good company here in terms of Park alums playing at Camp Randall, by the way. G Tyrone Junker and CB Rich Arpaci both went on to one year NFL careers. Here's to hoping Mr. Two can not only continue that proud Panther-Badger-Pro tradition, but have an extended career to boot.
The Badgers finished 10-1 on the year and won smoothly 28-14 over Utah in the Holiday Bowl, continuing their string of consecutive bowl appearances that dates back all the way to 2013, giving them 80 bowl games out of the universe's 84 years.. Despite this success however, they're just 43-37 in bowl games and have never won a national title, which go a long way to explaining why they only have a 39 prestige. On the other hand, that 39 prestige is good enough to have them ranked #30 in the country in terms of prestige, which is about right--a consistently solid program, but not quite at the elite level.
Perhaps Irwin can help lead Wisconsin to that elusive national championship.

Year 85: 2087
DE Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin University of Wisconsin Badgers (Fr)
The most heralded Park alum since Kenny "Woot" Castillo comes in at 35/93, a sensational potential rating. He could be a top backup right now, but the Badgers coaching staff, aware that they have two fifth year seniors as starters, decided to redshirt Malcom to give him every opportunity possible to earn the starting job next season. He's one of three DEs on the roster with a potential of Excellent (86 rated RS So and 100 rated RS Fr respectively).
RB Corwin Mines
10th ranked RB in the state and 21 rating means he won't go anywhere, even despite being a top 100 player in Wisconsin. Too bad, as I like his name.
C Luther Perez
71st player in the state and 6th ranked center. 44 rating by a lousy scout. More of a runblocker than a pass protector, he's got very good academic credentials and decent attitude. Really wants to stay close to home, preferably a name school. Outside shot of getting signed.
OLB Lawrence Terrell
19 rating? Yeah, okay.
FB B.J. Thomason
Our most acclaimed FB prospect since Shaun Kimbrough, he's billed as the 51st best FB in the country, 48th best Wisconsin player and 2nd best fullback in the state. A clutch player who specializes in third down running, he's a little too light at 5'11, 202 pounds to bull his way through for extra yardage. Mediocre academics and rated 39 by a lousy scout, but good attitude. Eyeing a name school first and foremost, academics secondary.
T Mario Glenn
6'4" 274 lb pass-protector who's rated 61 by a lousy scout, ranked 31st best player in the state and number two Wisconsin tackle. It must be a phenomenal year for tackles, because Mario doesn't crack the national position rankings at all. Okay academics, decent attitude. Wants a good History program that's close to home, with both factors equally important.
Mario's a fascinating story. Always a big boy, as young as 8 years old, he wanted to be an offensive lineman, protecting the quarterback. He idolizes former Panther great Matt Bruce and studies game tape of the former NFL'er religiously to pick up information from. History has also been an interest of his from a young age and he's particularly interested in Panthers' football history. He can recite the name, numbers, and statistics of every Park player who's gone on to play college ball, no matter what the level, along with the record, individual statistical leaders and team statistics of every single Panthers football team in the history of the school. He looks forward to becoming the next legend in a long, proud tradition of Panthers offensive linemen.
What a great class. It's the best overall Panthers class in years and Park's bound to be the state champions last year after getting upended by our crosstown rivals, Racine Horlick, in the regionals and denied a chance at state. In fact, the last time we had a pair of classes this good back to back, you have to go all the way back to the powerhouse Panthers teams of the '20s, when we had a string of good classes throughout the decade that led to a player to track just about every year.
Week 2
Thomason gets contacted by Duke, Mario gets scholarship offers from UW-La Crosse and Colorado.
Week 4
TCU contacts Mario.
Week 5
The Mario Glenn Sweepstakes heat up with scholarship offers from Auburn and Clemson, but our proud local boy is visiting UW-L and he's a good bet to become our next Panther-Eagle.
Week 6
Thomason picks up a scholarship invite from Purdue and B.J. is thrilled to be able to visit the Big Ten campus in West Lafayette.
Week 7
Now it's the B.J. Thomason Sweepstakes that are going, as Louisiana Tech invites him to walk on and N.C. State dangles a scholarship. Amusingly enough for our prestige-hungry fullback though, all of the schools who have expressed interest have 11 prestige, save for N.C. State, who sits at 10. Marshall jumps in on the Glenn chase, but Mario's still looking like he'll fly with the Eagles. Luther Perez continues to get no love, which is discouraging. T Mario Glenn becomes our second consecutive All-State player. Way to go, Mario!
Week 8[b/]
Thomason takes a trip to Tobacco Country to check out N.C. State and Duke, the latter of whom finally offered a scholarship. The smart money is still on the Boilermakers, though. Mario cuts down to his final 5: Auburn, Clemson, Colorado, UW-L, and Marshall. The Eagles are still the runaway favourites with the Tigers of the Clemson variety the darkhorse.
[b]Week 9
The Blue Devils pull out of the B.J. Yes, that pun was deliberate and I enjoyed making it.
Week 10
The Boilermakers and Wolfpack both pull out of the B.J., but the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech are game and offer Thomason a scholarship, leading him to visit. Western Michigan, much like LT did earlier, invite him to walk on. In a stunning upset, Mario announced that UW-La Crosse is off his list. He cited the Eagles' poor football history as the reason, saying he wants a chance at NFL dreams like his hero Matt Bruce. The Clemson Tiger rumours get more ground on the news.
Week 11
A decision has been made! FB B.J. Thomason will be playing for...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Football/Louisiana_Tech.gif
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs!!
Thomason got smart and realized he'd better take the scholarship offer while one was out there. Too many guys over the years have had their chances and waited too long. Good to see B.J. avoid holding off for too long.
Mario kicks Clemson out of the running and it's down to Auburn, Colorado, and Marshall. The Thundering Herd are believed to have the inside track, with the Buffs #2 and the Tigers #3. It could very easily be any of the three, however, as no one school truly stands out. Colorado, which has the best History program by far, is also the furthest away. Luther Perez still hasn't gotten any love, which puzzles me.
Week 12
All-State T Mario Glenn has finally reached a decision! He'll be suiting up for....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Football/Auburn.gif
The University of Auburn Tigers!
So Mario winds up taking the middle ground in terms of both distance and academic program. Perhaps it's no small accident that Auburn also had the highest prestige of the three remaining schools.
The year ends with Luther Perez getting nary a look, but he also turned significantly worse than scouted, so it makes sense.
End Season:
The Wisconsin Badgers stumble a bit with a 7-4 mark, but they once again go bowling and crush Mississippi State 33-10 in the Alamo Bowl. Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin keeps his redshirt and posts a respectable 2.94 GPA in his redshirt year.
Louisiana Tech finished a miserable 2-9, but this is consistent with a program that has a .285 all-time winning percentage in this universe. The Bulldogs' last winning season was back in 2042, when they finished 7-4. They actually had a decent team in the late '30s, with 2 winning, 7-4 seasons amidst some competitive years. Louisiana Tech has a lone bowl appearance to its credit, all the way back in 2020 when they lost a 35-27 contest to Arkansas State in the Spuds Bowl.
Auburn had a respectable 6-5 campaign, but it wasn't enough to get them into a bowl game. The Tigers started off as a pretty good program, but have since dropped in stature, becoming a team that will usually win a few games and once in a while make a bowl game, but nowhere near the level of good. They have a .393 all-time percentage, with 18 bowl appearances and just 2 wins in those 18 games.

If you mean a list of how many players each school has signed, look back at the 75th Anniversary Team post and scroll down to Panthers By School. I keep a running tab there.
For the guys since then, you can either go back and re-read, or you can wait till the 100th anniversary team report comes out :)
If you mean how the schools that have signed the players have done since they've graduated, I could do that.
And yeah, I'm surprised about Perez too, but so it goes.

Year 86: 2088
DE Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin Wisconsin Badgers (RS Fr)
Malcom showed modest gains in the offseason, increasing to 39/93. Though certainly not an explosion by any means, he improved enough in his redshirt year that he should be a starter, a top backup at absolute worst.
FB B.J. Thomason Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (FR)
At 13/66, B.J.'s a very raw prospect, one who's also caught in a bit of a numbers game with five fullbacks on the roster. He'll redshirt obviously, but he may not get a chance to crack the lineup for a few seasons. It'll all depend on how he develops relative to his competition.
T Mario Glenn Auburn University Tigers (Fr)
For all the ranting and raving that went on in the local press around Mario, it appears that he's been grossly overrated, for he's 11/37, last and least of the team's four tackles. Worse yet, they aren't giving him a redshirt year to develop, the coaching staff apparently figuring that his ceiling is so low, he's not worth investing the time in.
S Emmitt Schwartz
The usual expected fodder after a great class, with a 1 rating.
End Season:
Wisconsin has a terrific 11-0 season, but are again denied a shot at the title game and promptly follow up the sting of that with an even more cutting 20-17 loss to Wake Forest in the Cotton Bowl. In spite of the disappointment of losing the bowl game, Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin absolutely lights up the Big Ten as a starter, with 33 tackles (19 TFL), 8 assists, 13.5 sacks, 3 blocks and 17 hurries, leading the Badgers in sacks, hurries, and tying for the team lead in TFL. It was a great year for DEs in the Big Ten, however, so he missed out on a Big Ten All-Conference selection.
Louisiana Tech goes 3-8 and B.J. Thomason has a quiet redshirt year, posting an unremarkable 2.34 GPA.
Auburn wins the SEC South at 7-4 and loses the SEC Championship game before getting hammered 45-21 by Syracuse in the Gator Bowl. Mario Glenn appears in 9 games, going 1/2 in KRB and giving up 2 sacks. Not a great showing, but better than what was expected.

Year 87: 2089
DE Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin Wisconsin Badgers (RS So)
After his dazzling season last year, Malcom improves to 52/93, which should be enough to keep him a starter, although there's a lot of guys nipping at his heels because the position group as a whole made some really nice strides. Will Mr. Two keep up his hot streak and become a bona fide NFL prospect? Only time will tell.
FB B.J. Thomason Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (RS Fr)
Ouch, just ouch! BJ goes to 19/20 and the probable third stringer, if not the fourth and last fullback because of his suddenly terrible potential. What a disappointment.
T Mario Glenn Auburn University Tigers (So)
There's a smidgen more upside seen in Mario, but he didn't improve in current at all at 11/40. The coaching staff still refuses to redshirt him and he's still the fourth tackle on the team. Maybe he'll finally redshirt his junior year?
G Sean Caputo
13 is unlucky and so are Thomason and Glenn's college careers thus far.
End Season:
The Badgers have a pretty decent season at 8-3 before they knock out Florida 23-17 in the Alamo Bowl. Given Wisconsin's frustrations in bowling, I think the flagship home state university will take the lesser tier victory over the higher tier losses they've had. Bad news hits Malcom "Mr. Two Irwin. After a slow start, in which he had 4 tackles (2 TFL), a block and a hurry in 4 starts, the reason for his slowness is diagnosed: Repetitive Concussion Syndrome. He's lost not only for the year, but his chances for playing next season are endangered as well. Fuck! :(
Louisiana Tech is surprisingly competitive at 4-7, but you wouldn't know it by B.J. Thomason, who appeared in one game as a special teams guy or something, probably in a blowout where it didn't matter.
Auburn finishes 6-5, but it's not enough for the Tigers to go bowling, even in the SEC. Mario Glenn makes 3 games, but fails to record a statistic. I have to say his career has been the most disappointing one so far relative to his hype, though Irwin may surpass that with his injury :(

Year 88: 2090
DE Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin Wisconsin Badgers (RS Jr)
He's up to 58/93, but sadly, it's official. Malcom will miss the entire year with concussion syndrome. :( A once promising career may just have been derailed, his pro dreams gone up in smoke. :(
FB B.J. Thomason Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (RS So)
No change from 19/20 and he's stuck at third string. This class, which I had so much hope for, is turning out to be the biggest disappointment of any group Park High's ever had.
T Mario Glenn Auburn University Tigers (Jr)
13/40 and he's the third tackle, thanks to one of the starters getting suspended. He might even show enough to be a starter himself, though the chances of that are quite slim. At the very least, he should see some expanded playing time this year. I've given up hope on a redshirt incidentally.
WR Arnie Burks
27 rating won't be enough for him to catch on anywhere.
End Season:
The Badgers don't miss much of a beat without their once-star DE, going 9-2 before returning to the Alamo Bowl to kick the stuffing out of Georgia, 42-17. Wisconsin's done pretty well in the Alamo Bowl in this universe, incidentally, with a 16-7 record. Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin really hit the books this year and had his most successful semesters in the classroom, all As, except for a B-, to bring his cumulative GPA up to 2.75.
The non-Georgia Bulldogs go 2-9 and B.J. Thomason gets his obligatory single special-teams blowout appearance.
Auburn gets back bowling with an 8-3 regular season record before losing the SEC Championship game and the Gator Bowl, again to Syracuse, this time by the margin of 35-16. Mario Glenn appears in 7 games, giving up just one sack.
Year 89: 2091
DE Malcon "Mr. Two" Irwin Wisconsin Badgers (RS Sr)
This is it. His final year and his last chance to show that he's got what it takes to be considered an NFL prospect. At 60/93, both the ability and the potential are there. Malcom's been given a clean bill of health and he'll be giving his all to carry the team as far as he can.
FB B.J. Thomason Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (RS Jr)
The rust hits B.J. a bit and he drops to 18/20, but it's an exciting opportunity for him as there's a chance he could start this year. That's how bad the Bulldogs' fullback situation is, but they'll probably go with the true freshman who has considerable upside instead.
T Mario Glenn Auburn University Tigers (Sr)
No one's had a more aggravating college career to watch than Mario, but he might finally get his chance his last season. 18/40, he's the highest rated tackle in current, although there's two underclassmen who have a boatload more potential. If all three of our guys can start this year, it'll be a season of redemption for this class, especially if Irwin gets in on the pro game.
OLB Warren Oliver
83rd best player in the state, 5th best OLB in Wisconsin, but his 33 rating makes him very iffy. A zone defender who has trouble against the run, his best attribute is that he's extremely consistent. Maybe he'll get a look, but I'm doubting it.
End Season
Wisconsin goes 8-3 and disappointingly gets flattened 42-14 by Florida in the Alamo Bowl, denying the Badgers a 3-0 Alamo mark in Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin's college days. Malcom made the most of his senior year and did everything in his power to show the pro scouts that he's ready, with 46 tackles (21 TFL), 13 assists, 12.5 sacks, 4 blocks and 27 hurries. In fact, that performance was so fantastic, he was named to the Big Ten All-Conference 2nd Team! Way to go Malcom!!! In fact, he's the first top-tier conference All-Conference player that Park's ever had! The pro scouts can't possibly turn him down now... or can they? Mr. Two finishes with a 2.66 GPA and will graduate with a degree in Philosophy.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Irwin.jpg
Louisiana Tech posts its first winning record in years as the Bulldogs finish 6-5, just short of a bowl game. B.J. Thomason doesn't start, but he plays in 9 games, rushing 6 times for 32 yards and a TD and catching 1 pass for 4 yards.
Auburn crashes to 5-6, but Mario Glenn at long last got to be a starter. For all 11 games, he ran out as part of the first team and got a taste of fulfilling the potential everyone once believed him to have. His numbers were pretty bad: 8/38 in KRB (21.0%) with 10 sacks allowed, but it's the starting that matters. Mario graduates with a 2.10 GPA and a degree in History. He plans on going back to Wisconsin to get his teaching license and hopefully end up teaching history and coaching football at Racine Park, where he can remind future generations of the Panthers' football past.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/Glenn.jpg
And Malcom made the draft pool!!!
DE Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin Wisconsin Badgers
6'1" 256 lbs
Big 10 Second Team-All Conference DE who came back in a big way from a major concussion syndrome that cost him most of his sophomore season and all of his junior year. Strong (29 reps), fairly quick for a lineman (4.86 40, 7.44 agility), with the potential to be a real surprise in the draft (60 Vol). Ranked in the top 10 of virtually every combine category for defensive ends and is probably the 9th or 10th best end in the draft. Decently developed despite the time missed and might contribute as a part-timer right away. One drawback is suspect endurance.
Projection:
Could develop into a starter with time, but a backup and spot duty in nickel and dime packages is far more likely. Very possible to make it as a multi-year player in the league.
Draft Prediction: 4th-5th round, as it's a weak draft for DEs. (4.9/5.4 adjusted)
For once, the draft writeups are right, for DE Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin of Park High and Wisconsin is the 10th DE taken, with the 9th pick in the 5th round by the New England Patriots.
We have our second-ever drafted player in this universe!!!!!!!

Year 90: 2092
RDE Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin New England Patriots (Rookie)
Initial impressions have Malcom rated at 27/41, a real steal in the 5th round for the Patriots, particularly given their deplorable DE situation, especially on the right side, where Irwin plays. Those favorable impressions improve after training camp, when Mr. Two blossoms to 30/41. He's signed a 3 year, $1.65 million rookie contract with $150,000 signing bonus and best of all, the Patriots have appointed him the starter at RDE. This might be the first Panther alumni in the history of the universe to last more than two seasons.
As with Kenny "Woot" Castillo, the other draftee, I present Malcom's initial card:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/IrwinPro.jpg
FB B.J. Thomason Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (RS Sr)
.... Three active fullbacks and they're all 21 current rating. (A fourth fullback is 9 rating, but he's being redshirted) Even more interesting, B.J. and another guy are both 21/21. The third fullback, a true sophomore, has this little thing called upside, and will probably get the start, but I fully expect BJ to pick up some time as well.
DT Joe Kozlowski
A few really nice players from Case and Horlick this season, but we're stuck with this 4 rated DT who won't be going D-I. Ah well, I'm excited about Irwin's potential pro career.
End Season:
Louisana Tech performs its usual ineptitude and goes 3-8. B.J. Thomason appears in all 11 games, rushing 4 times for 10 yards and catching a 9 yard pass. His college career was unremarkable, both on the field and in the classroom, where he barely graduates with his 1.67 GPA in Geology. Don't know how his life is going to go and don't really care. Fullback is the most boring position to follow in TCY/FOF.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/Izulde/thomason.jpg
The New England Patriots have a nice turn-around season and go 9-7, getting into the playoffs. They thrashed the Steelers 34-13 in the wild card round before falling 24-0 to Miami in the divisional round. Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin had a respectable rookie campaign, starting 15 games after missing Week 1 with a knee injury. He compiled 19 tackles, 12 assists, 4.5 sacks, 3 blocks, 9 hurries and a QB knockdown. He also had 3 QB hurries against Pittsburgh in the wild-card round and an assist against Miami.
Was it a light the world on fire rookie campaign? Not at all, but it was solid enough that I think we've got some real promise here, especially if he can get his endurance up.
Edit: Irwin also intercepted a pass and returned it for a TD!, along with a pass defense, so he's definitely turning into a passing down specialist if nothing else :)

RDE Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin New England Patriots (2nd year)
The quiet creep upwards continues, as Malcom's now at 36/42. Despite my slight paranoia that the Patriots would draft a hotshot rookie DE to take over, the New England staff is pleased enough with Mr. Two that he's gone unchallenged and will be the starter for the second straight year in a row, an NFL first for a Park alum!.

The NFL is always capricious in its twists and turns from year to year and it's no different this season as the Patriots fall to 6-10. Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin can't be blamed, however, as he greatly improved on his rookie season. Starting all 16 games despite some niggling foot and neck injuries and despite getting tired at the end of the year, he rung up 43 tackles, 26 assists, 6.5 sacks, 3 blocks and 7 hurries. Although he had no pass defense statistics this year, he was nominated for Player of the Week twice, another Park alum NFL first!. What an awesome and fun career to watch. :)

I'm still disgusted with how the 1962 season ended and I haven't updated this one in a while, so let's go!
Year 92: 2094
RDE Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin Indianapolis Colts (3rd season)
Those stupid, stupid Patriots. They got two years of good production out of Irwin and they cut him, only to replace him later on with an undrafted rookie free agent who sucks. So Mr. Two signs on with the Colts on a one year deal. He appears to have maxed out at 42/42, but Malcom's caught in a numbers game in Indy, with himself the least of the three RDEs :( Maybe he'll show enough to get some backup work, though.
No Park prospects this year :(
End Season:
Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin returns to the playoffs, this time with the 10-6 Colts. Indy makes it all the way to the AFC Championship before falling to Cleveland. He didn't contribute much though, only appearing on the field for 16 plays all season and failed to record a stat. To top it all over, he has an Extreme Conflict with the Defensive Front leader. Can we say new team next year? I thought we could!
Those godless heathens in Foxboro finished a satisfying 6-10, by the way.
Incidentally, Malcom's now 44/44, so he should have good enough skills to hang on for a couple more seasons at least :)
Year 93: 2095
RDE Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin San Diego Chargers (4th season)
He's baaack!!!! Still 44/44, Malcom's -much- happier to be in San Diego, where he can once again be a starter. I honestly never expected his career to last as long as it has, much less that he'd be a starter so often. That's just really cool. What sucks is that he's only signed to a one-year contract, gotten in the first stage of Late Free Agency, but hey at least he's playing, starting, and still in the league.
P Leroy Kinney
38 huh? Go away.
ILB Ronald Galloway
If his 18 rating and Kinney's 38 were flip-flopped, Ronnie might have a shot at playing D-I football, but they aren't and so he doesn't.
End Season:
Another season, another playoff berth for Malcom "Mr. Two" Irwin's team as the Chargers go 10-6 before losing in the wild card round to the Oakland Raiders, who manage not to suck at this point in the universe. Then again, in 93 years, even Wyoming could become a national football power on the level of Florida right now :D
Malcom has his best season pass-rushing wise, as he amasses 26 tackles, 8 assists, 7 sacks, 4 blocks and 13 hurries. He also picked up 2 more Player of the Week mentions! Congrats, Mr. Two!
The godless heathens in Foxboro went an even more satisfying 4-12.
The Colts made it to the Super Bowl but got romperstomped 24-10 by the New Orleans Saints to ruin their title hopes. Both of Malcom's former teams prove that karma indeed does go a long way. :D
