I am having the following problem in one of my MPs. Maybe someone here can help:
For two weeks in a row now, I've programmed a detailed gameplan during the midweek term. I then get the midweek file back and all my gameplan details have been erased. All of my double coverage settings are zero (which might be why Cleo Lemon had a career day against me last week), my blitz preferences for different defenders (miscellaneous game plan tendencies) are all set at 10, and the other gameplan settings are not where i put them.
Someone please help. If my gameplans aren't being accepted then there is no point in playing the game.
To add a few details: my roster changes were accepted. Last week, after the midweek turn the settings were erased and I re-did the gameplan. They were erased before this past mid-week turn and again now.

Are you on different computers? The gameplan isn't (supposed to be) sent back with the new files - it's saved on your local machine. If you're opening a game on a second machine, you won't see the plan.
Have you confirmed that you didn't double-cover anyone during the game?
Could also be that the commissioner has the coaches-reset-gameplans checked.

Same computer.
Double coverage doesn't show up in the game log. I probably need to watch the Solevision file.
I'll see if the commissioner has the reset checked. I didn't know there was such an option. Why would you want to do that anyway?

According to the Solevision file, I was using double-coverage, so it must be getting reset with every file. There is an important implication of this: if you submit a midweek file and then another one for the next game, you need to make sure your game plan hasn't been reset.
Thanks for the help.

I think there is an issue with the commish's settings getting changed, especially if they play SP along with MP. So, this could be a cause.

Please make sure that you have "save game plan and depth chart on export" set to yes in global options. This should save you plan locally. However, to be safe, I would suugest that if you're going to use the midweek turn to sign a player then you might be best waiting until after that turn to do your plan, then you can make sure that it's used.

I think the issue is that gameplans get messed up if the commish uses different computers to run the sim.

This can be complicated and multi-layered, actually. FOFL sims are run on multiple computers, and I'm pretty sure we had to work through more than one issue before we got it all solved. One problem was that a file was included in an export that shouldn't have been, so everyone who had downloaded it was having their exports reset.
This fix will take care of the issue where your gameplan gets reset to a default upon opening the game with a new file.
In this folder:
\Program Files\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football 2007\leagues
delete this file:
foflfoot.fpn
We inadvertently sent it out on conversion and added it to the zip in the faq section. Only folks who run sims need it.
According to Solecismic:
"It's used to store the current game plan in use on the local machine. This means the commissioner does not have to send out a file containing all the game plans (or 32 separate ones to individual owners). As a result, there's no way to "cheat" by easily browsing through a saved game file."
So, that's one thing that can cause it. If I recall, we had another issue that was related to sims being done on different computers that has been addressed as well. I'd have your commish check with Subby and/or Allosaurus in the FOFL. I believe the other issue was related to the proper files not being on one or more of the simming computers.

Some leagues are GM only and require default gameplans.

I ran into this. It reset all my leagues. Every download. Which sucks. The .fpn file was in only one league folder. I hope this solves my problem.

Did anyone figure out if it ran your gameplan then set it to zero or did it use the default defense?
