Crazy. What's the chances that Floyd will still be coaching at USC by the time that this 14 year old speedy 5-10 PG from Illinois is ready for college? I'd wager that a better title for this story would be "Eighth grade verbally commits to Tim Floyd".

I think this is fairly common now. I've read quite a few articles of guys verbally commiting before high school. With the way verbals are now, it doesn't really mean anything at all.

Most of the time that is the case no matter who the coach is. I agree with Atocep on this one. It is pretty much meaningless at this point. If he wants to reopen the recruiting process, he can. If the school wants to pull the offer, they can.
