Was Sam Houston really deserving of all the praise, or does he not hold a candle to the rest of the boys at the Alamo?

Without that line of fighters in front of him and that excellent messenger running back and forth he would've lasted 12 hours.

Most everything coming out of Texas was and is overrated.

Putting "the rest of the boys" makes it sound like you think Sam Houston was at the Alamo. He wasn't.

He was, however, an excellent militarist, not to mention governor of two states, etc, etc....

Oh, and he didn't come out of Texas, he came out of Tennessee.

I really have no idea about anything relating to Sam Houston...read Senator's post in the "Overrated or Not: Troy Aikman" thread....

Texas and almost everything about it, from it or related TO it is/are/will be overrated.
