Headline: Mind-controlled prosthetic arm plays the piano

Body text of note: "A person wearing a Proto 2 could conceivably play the piano."

I didn't want to hijack the scientist thread, but these headline writers have got to be brought under control. I think marketing folks are writing headlines now in these media conglomerates. It's not about the facts, it's about selling the story, and that's a key problem with the media in general...

Could be worse. The headline could have been - 'Mind-controlled prosthetic arm fires a gun' thus implying that the government was doing this to get soldiers back to their units....

These media-bashing threads are generally tiresome and ill-informed. However, I do want to recognize you for being the first person to apparently figure out that the journalist who writes the story doesn't also write the headline. That's progress, at least.

I wish this thread has been more about bashing the media in general, rather than just bashing the people who write headlines.

That is why I will miss the Weekly World News. If the headline screamed "BATBOY FOUND IN CAVE", the ensuing article and pics were all about the aforementioned Batboy that was found in a cave.
