Is it me or is this whole PGA Tour playoffs thing too much of trying to fit a square peg into a round hole?

I know they're not going to ditch it, given the money they poured into this. But how do you tweak it in a sport where....well, we're not really used to seeing this stuff?

And it's not as if someone is going to want to win the FedEx Cup more than a major.

Good point. Finchem can't really fine them for it, though. So he's screwed. And the whole $10 million annuity is really lame too.

So Tiger Woods looks like he'll win this week, giving him the #1 spot and setting up a battle between him, Steve Stricker and Phil Mickelson to likely be the ones to win the FedEx Cup next week.

I don't think the playoffs ought to be a crapshoot, but to have a system that allows guys to skip a week and still win, seems crappy to me. I think they need to give more incentives for the guys who do play to earn more points. I mean, does it matter if the fields are a little bigger each week?

They're going to have to tweak this thing massively to make it interesting enough in the face of football season.
