I’m in an eight team league and I have Travis Henry and Rudi Johnson as my starters. On my bench sits Willis McGehee. Also in the free agent pool, Jamal Lewis is still available. After Lewis’ great week, it looks like he may be back in his old form. I doubt he will post numbers like last weekend often, but all the same, he is likely to be a consistent point earner.

I don’t mind carrying three backs. Should I drop one of the current backs and pick up Lewis? Which two would you start this coming week?

I wouldn't...Cleveland isn't going to be in a position to run the ball consistently enough for Lewis, who is nowhere near a good as he looked this weekend, to be more valuable than the three guys you already have.

Is carrying 4 backs out of the question? If not, Lewis would be a great 4th back who could be a spot starter or an injury fill in.

I could carry a fourth back, but would probably have to drop him to carry a taxi player when off weeks get rolling. Plus I can only start two. I'm leaning toward basically sticking with Henry and Johnson as starters and rotate McGahee in during bye weeks.

I'm thinking you are right about the Browns and the running game, but it is tempting. Lewis has been so good in the past.

Four starting RBs is not a bad thing to have especially when Henry has had a history of injuries and Shanahan is a nutcase about his RBs. But, don't fall in love with Lewis...he hasn't been good for several years now and he's stuck in a pretty pathetic offense despite this weekend's explosion.
