Hi, I am your near-by neighbor. Because of my proximity to your house, I am picking up your wireless internet signal. (If you have one). I am picking several signals up on my computer. The typical wireless router extends its coverage 250 feet with some ranging up to over 400 feet. Unfortunately, this extends in other people's living spaces. When you consider living in a densely populated neighborhood, this can mean an overlap of 4, 5 even 6 wireless networks in one room of your house.

EMF fields are everywhere. The earth is surrounded by a natural electromagnetic field. But in recent years growth of technology has added exponentially to the amount we are surrounded by. EMF comes from cell phone towers, computer technology, high tension power lines, among many other sources. Wireless technology is part of this EMF pollution. A signficant number of people worldwide describe adverse health effects due to EMF sensitity. Studies show these EMF signals break down DNA and interfere with the production of certain necessary hormones in the brain. Wireless in schools has shown to be particularily harmful for teachers and students. Studies have shown wi-fi is more harmful for children because their brains are still developing. <see enclosed article from Sky News>. Potential side effects can be all or any one of the folowing. Headaches, irritability, dizziness, insomnia, loss of concentration, nausea, ringing in the ears and fatigure. An entire list can be found at - <link>

A neurologist has told me I am sensitive to wireless signals coming into my house and due to the severity of my symptoms need to limit my exposure to all excess EMF. From the studies that are being done, it is good for all of us to limit these exposures whether you are sensitive to it or not.

If you can please do not leave your wifi signal on overnight (signals do more damage at night) and if possible, please turn it off if you are not using it. I am asking you this out of the goodness of your heart.

I'm betting there's a Starbucks in your neighborhood, they have WiFi. And I bet his workplace has a wireless network, too, even if he's not using it. he obviously is so paranoid he can't even live in "the city" (I have no idea if your town is a city, sounds like it could be a suburb). I wonder if he/she owns a cell phone.

Honestly, I have no idea just how dangerous EMF pollution is. I figure I've got a lot bigger things to worry about than if my wireless router is giving me a headache. A quick Google search yields no conclusive results--until I see something in JAMA or on PubMed or in Nature, I'll take my chances. Seriously, though, does your neighbor realize how many OTHER things contribute to EMF pollution (including his computer, if he's got it TURNED ON and looking for wifi signals...)

Any electrical appliance generates an EMF. Refer him to what RPI said -- this is pretty much 100% bunk, and the "studies" that "prove" his analysis typically don't mention the nearby Nuclear Power Plant or other ridiculous scenario that would obviously skew the results (it's really hard to get a control group for a test like this because of the prevalence of EMF. The Earth has its own EMF that everyone is dealing with on a daily basis, and typically it's stronger than any EMF we come into contact with otherwise).

I had that in the mailbox on the same day that I'm watching my neighbor trying to cut down a very large black walnut tree (next to everyone's fences and the phone and power lines) with a ladder that only goes 1/3 of the way up the tree and this small chainsaw. Dude was cutting branches off and one of his friends was standing underneath them as they were falling.

My wife really wants me to video tape this. I have no doubts that someone is getting injured or a fence, phone or power lines is coming down.

I do not live near Mensa members obviously.

For more enjoyment, here is the tree that my neighbor is trying to cut down. Oddly enough, the neighbor that gave me the letter lives next door. (Ladder in the background). I know he isn't trimming it because several month ago he asked if he could take it down since it was on city property technically... Not sure why he was asking me.. not my tree.
