I just got done watching "An American Tail" with my daughter, and was reminded how great the soundtrack is. I actually own it. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I still tear up at the end of the movie.

Anyway, that got me thinking about soundtracks I really like. I just started this thread right after I started thinking about, so I'm sure I'm missing a ton that I like better, but here are a few that stand out in my mind right now:

I loved the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack, that one got a lot playtime.

Probably the most played soundtrack of my lifetime is The Little Mermaid one. Listened to the hell out of that when I was little, and I'm not ashamed of it.

God, I just remembered the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Coming out of their Shells tape I had and listened to religiously for a while. Terrible.

I'd have to see a list of movies and pick out if I liked their soundtracks... but off the top of my head... most Tarantino movies, Moulin Rouge, and Garden State. If I had to pick a top one, it would be Garden State. Opened so many musical artists to me.

I think if it's the movie soundtrack of the musical, then it absolutely counts. I don't like the broadway version of "Grease", but I love the OMPS version. Same thing with West Side Story...
