I have one in the garage that has been neglected. It is frozen over on a bunch of shelves and Im not sure if its safe just to unplug it, roll it out into the front yard and let it thaw out....is it?

So let's say it isn't. What exactly do you think will happen if you unplug it?

That's pretty cool. You can roll your freezer around? And I used to wonder why I would sometimes see a refrigerator or freezer on someone's lawn along with a old rusted car. Now I know. Thanks!

Yes it is but you may want to get the big chuncks of ice out now as oppesed to once they turn to water. Also don't let thet hawed standing water stay in it to long.

The thawed ice will breed an army of seamonkeys that will grow to human size and attack the neighborhood with tridents.

That would've been great for a Frankenhooker 2. How about you and I write a screenplay?

So if this movie gets made, Flasch has to star in it, of course.

Just make sure you leave the top/front open and pour the water out every so often as it melts so you don't have to clean a lot of mildew.

as long as you clean the underside of the trays
that's actually a really good point

I suggest using Windex.

Based on the safety tips I've seen, there's at least a 75% chance that if you do that a kid will climb in and die.

thats actually a fairly valid point.
If you are gonna leave it unattended you may want to remove the door off its hinges.

Kids climbing in abandoned freezers and dying is one of the ways we keep the gene pool clean.

it is not safe to thaw out your freezer.
We are in the middle of a major global warming crisis, we can not let anymore ice melt.
if you thaw your freezer, Al Gore will come a callin' and a baby in Zambia will die....

But if he unplugs it, that means less carbon monoxide being created by burning fossil fuels.

Most fridges/freezers these days don't have latches on them. A kid would have to be REALLY stupid to not figure how to get out...
