It always cranks me up when U.S. of Americans complain about winter. Unless you're from North Dakota, I don't want to hear it.

Tell that to the 600,000 homes in Oklahoma who are without power thanks to our little ice storm. Now, we are expecting up to six inches of snow possibly slowing down the recovery process.

I'm originally from West Virginia and my wife is from North Dakota. I will admit I had never seen what cold really is until I spent a few weeks there one winter (0 degrees Fahrenheit ain't shit). However, West Virginia knows its snow.

Depending on where you live your winter is different, but you are accustomed to the weather in your region if there is a big change it can affect your life, regardless if it's Wind, Snow, Rain, or Heat.
I have known a lot of people that bitch how us Southern California's can't handle cold since we bitch at 50 degrees, but put those same people in SoCal for a couple years and they bitch about it too.

F that.
I love winter and would never complain, but I think that people from West Michigan, Buffalo, NY, Montana, and Minnesota have every right to complain.

I grew up in Rochester, NY, which constantly got buried in lake effect snow throughout my first 17 years. I developed a healthy dislike for winter. I would be fine with never seeing snow again. My dream is to move to Maui.

Yes, sorry, Alaska always just seems like another Territory to me. We'll add Alaska to the reprieve, and kick out Vancouver/Victoria, since their winter's are what Prairie folk call 'Spring'.

I love the winter. Give me cold, 2 feet of snow (plowed off the roads and walks of course) and keep it that way. I'd be perfectly happy.
The snow insulates the lower portion of the house. it covers the yard and trees thereby alleviating the need for that disgusting job known as "yard work"
It forces people to wear layers of clothes, and if you've ever been in or around Buffalo, NY you know that this is a GOOD thing.
Winter kicks all other season's in the ass and walks away without a scratch.
best Season PERIOD.

It's going to get into the low 60s tomorrow afternoon. That might be a little too chilly for most of us in Phoenix.

My daughter keeps making plans for when it snows again, like it did Christmas 2 years ago.
I keep telling her that it won't be for another 101 years since it took 103 the last time.

Well, fall and spring is more like 55 degree rain, which is much better. But yes, we do have a beautiful six weeks of summer.

I live in Colorado. I used to live in Oklahoma. I HATE winter.
I realize it isn't North Dakota or Siberia or the North Pole. I get it. I'd take cyonide capsules if I lived in any of those places. I hate the snow here, I hate the cold here.
And I'll complain about it as much as I want to.
So there.

Agreed. It's great after suffering through the summer when it was 80+ everyday. Now that it's around 10 it's comfortable hoodie weather outside.

I've got friends that lived in Colorado for years, I know all about your 'winter'. I'm sorry that your glorious mountain ranges get fantastic snow conditions while cities like Denver stay mostly snow-free for all but a week or two here and there.
From Wikipedia:
The coldest temperature ever recorded in Denver was recorded on January 9 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/January_9), 1875 at -29 °F (-34 °C), though the last time Denver recorded a temperature below -20 °F (-29 °C) was in 1990.
To summarize: Suck it up.

Ummmm, how can I say this nicely. NO.
It's all relative. I'm comfortable in 108 degree heat with high humidity while a lot of other people would hate that. It's a preference. It's 38 here and I'm miserable when walking outside. I despise it. And you telling me to suck it up isn't going to make me enjoy the cold weather. (and yes, for me 38 is cold)
I deal with it. I don't complain about it a lot. I just don't go out in it. But I'm not going to listen to some yokel from Winnepeg tell me that my opninions don't count cause it's not as cold here as it is there. To me it's cold. I don't care what it's like in Canada or Siberia, I would never live in those places. Denver is about as cold as it will ever get for me.

Yokel; good one. You realise Winnipeg is a pretty large city right? Not just a circle of a dozen Igloo's around this week's fishing hole? But wait, why should I expect a U.S. American to know that, some U.S. Americans don't have maps!
Anyways, you only help to strengthen my position with your further whining. Suck it up, Nancy.
