Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some steps/ideas I would need to take a picture and make it into a drawing. I wanted to do something for my friends and turn it into a poster, something that would make people look like this:

I am familiar with Photoshop 6 and know my way around it, was just wondering what anyone thought could get the most accurate results like that above in the easiest way. Thanks for the help in advance.

There's actually a facebook tool that does this for you... It's called "Sketch Me"..
Might want to try that before you put a bunch of manual work in?

I happen to like the first link because it can make for some kick ass effects, but it takes the longest to accomplish. The other two are much more simpler and still allows you to have control of the look.

Thanks wade & Ant. I checked the Facebook app, but it's not what I'm looking for as I need to merge multiple pictures together.
I, too, am intrigued by the first link Anty.

Just because you gave me the link Ant, here's my first attempt:

Now that took about an hour. My whole plan is to make a very wide shot of about 15-20 people. I think it will be pretty cool. Especially when scaled down, which would be necessary for a nice long strip of people, I think it looks the best:

Thanks again Ant. You the man!

Damn, good job of getting the background out of there. Your first attempt looks better than my 2nd and 3rd. Can't wait to see how it turns out in the end, so keep me posted.

Not sure if anyone has been checking these out, but there's a series of video tutorials on YouTube for Photoshop neophytes:
