I've cried about 5-10 times in my life. I cried once because I visited my dad in Boston and his new wife hated me. I cried at the end of "Never Been Kissed" starring Drew Barrymore....don't ask me why...I just just awoken from a great nap and was feeling "emotionally connected". Then I cried on the phone to ex-girlfriend as she swore at me for giving her an STD....maybe I deserved that one (but what if I didn't?!?!?). Then the most recent time I remember crying was when I found out my best friend's relatives, who had me over for numerous holiday dinners throughout the years, called me a "Fucking Nigger" behind my back.

Do you cry?

Can we hear more about this?

Outside of when I was a little kid, I only remember crying twice and it was when my two grandparents passed away. I teared up when both of my nieces were born, and when I was giving the best man speech at my brother's wedding.

It's pretty rare for me to cry. I get tears in my eyes sometimes, but if they don't come out, is that actually crying? I don't know. I pretty much stopped crying after an incident in 6th grade. I tripped and fell in the classroom, hit the back of my head on a wall, and started crying in front of the whole class. That was pretty embarrassing, and I've cried only a handful of times since.

Edit: Oh, I'm not counting the times that I cry while masturbating, which are pretty frequent.

Wasn't this the story about driving across the country with a gf where he got great road head once and they broke up on the process of the trip? Something like that? Fucking RFSU

I cried when each of my daughters was born. I also cried when my grandfather died (on my 18th birthday no less). Other than that, I don't cry.

Do tears of joy count? Like when I receive that Nobel Prize for being the best damn poster on this forum??? :D

You've got my stories crossed. I have two road-trip-with-the-girlfriend stories, and I have one STD story. I would re-tell them, but I don't want to bore anyone.

I'm pretty sure the last time I cried was when I found out my mom had pancreatic cancer. Before that it was when the twins were born.

So twice in three years for me.

I have...in the past year as a matter of fact. At work even.

My crew ran a "code" (cardiac arrest call) on a six month old infant. Worked her all the way to the hospital where she was pronounced. The firefighter on my crew's wife was very pregnant, my Engineer is a father of two, and I'm a father of three.

All of the other engines in town were on a fire call, so we had to go "cover in" at a central point as we were the only crew available. There a crew of three grown men cried like babies over the call we had just run. After we all got it out of our systems, we talked about it all a bit and moved on like professionals.

All the while we were ready to go if something else happend as we were the only engine crew available for the city.

After 15 years those types of incidents will ALWAYS get to me as they would get to ANYONE.

Fortunately those calls are far and few between. If they were more common, I'd go dig ditches for a living.

So yeah, I have cried in front of people. Not bashful at all.

Cheers!

Oh yeah. When it comes to crying I'm the emotional equivalent of a twelve year old girl.

I cry at sad movies, I cry when I hear sad stories, I've cried when I've read posts here on this forum. I choke up when I relate tales depicting extraordinary character or bravery.

So yeah...I cry.

I'm sorry to hear that. :( I remember crying when we had to put my dog down, but having my dad cry when he got home was even worse.

One of the worst things in my book is when my parents cry...I'm virtually guaranteed to cry at that point. We lost my grandmother in July, and her birthday would have been Christmas Eve. We have a few traditions in our family around Christmas Eve, in part because of her birthday, and (as we all expected), my mom started crying during some of our supper traditions, which immediately got me in teary-eyed (I steadfastedly avoided looking at my sister). I think the best part about this Christmas Eve was that we had my brother and my new nephew (6 months old, he was born about a month before grandma died) there, kind of like a circle of life I guess.

But I've cried, mostly in front of friends and family, but sometimes in front of others...and it is what it is. Of course, I think it's probably more socially acceptable for girls to be seen crying than it is for guys, but I'll be the first to say that I try not to cry in front of people who aren't close friends or family...

I can cry on demand. I have always been able to. I used it to my advantage when I was in school lots of times. Remember, I grew up in the age of corporal punishment and I was a mischevious kid who was always getting a swat or two. A well placed tear works wonders, especially when you're short and lovable. ;)

When I've been hit by real tragedies I don't cry. I always wondered if I would since I don't really associate tears with an emotion. When I lost my grandfather I didn't cry. I lost myself in my own world and pretty much tuned everyone and everything out while I coped with my pain but not a tear shed. I can't imagine hurting any worse though.

i get very emotional, and tears will well up on me frequently, like in movies or certain times when i think of my wife. i don't cry like "waaaaah" crying, but yeah, tears have fallen on my face. i do it more in front of my wife, not in front of anyone else.

I usually cry like mad when singing/screaming You Are The Wind Beneath My Wings while driving in heavy traffic wearing nothing but boxers and shoes. Chicks dig it.

How has this thread gone so far without mentioning the movie Rudy yet? A little teary eyed ending there.

Cried when my daughter was born big time, a ton. More out of relief, it wasn't fun, didn't go well. In fact it has me terrified of having another child even though I know it shouldn't go that bad again. My wife downplays it, but I was standing there watching it. Seeing you half out and stuck kid changing colors because she is in trouble is a bad bad thing to see.

I don't cry often, but I have to work at it sometimes. I get choked up especially at things like "Amazing Grace" or "Silent Night" or a number of other things where little babies or children are involved, likely because I have two girls of my own now. Things that never got a rise out of me when I was younger, I'm much more prone to nowadays.

That would probably make me cry too. I have developed a soft spot for children. Maybe it is because I am a father of 3 now. I always liked kids, just never was that attached to them until I had my own. Now I am 2 semesters from a degree in Early Childhood Education.

My father in law is a battalion chief and he dreads those types of calls. He is in Arizona, so he gets a lot of the kids drowning in pools calls. Very, very sad. Not sure if I could handle it.
