Im pretty illiterate when it comes to this kind of stuff because I haven't kept up with the new HD stuff until now. I know I'm the last person in the world to start looking at this. Anyways which is better and what's the difference because I'm pretty sure my TV that I got for Christmas has both and they both give HD. I am wondering for my 360 because I can find cables in either format. Thanks!

Theyre both fine. It really depends on how your TV handles them.

IIRC, VGA is capable of much higher resolution, but the movie industry wants to get rid of everything that isnt HDMI, because they can't control it as well.

I have heard that the VGA cables are slightly better visually, but I have no idea if that's true and if it is there's a very minor difference.

You're fine either way, those are the top of the line choices right now and both are great.

I should add, the VGA adapter doesn't work on my TV. It's like the TV's native resolution isn't one supported by the adapter. I haven't heard of that happening often, and I've got a pretty cheap LCD so that's probably not a problem for most, but something to consider.

HDMI has a nice advantage of carrying both the audio and video signals in one cable and is probably all-around preferable as long as your cable run is <30 ft.

monoprice.com is a good place to get cables cheaply

On this topic, I was reading today that a company supposedly has figured out how to carry HDMI on coax cable, they're demoing it at CES and it should be available in a few months.

Either would work, but make sure you don't have an interlaced resolution TV. I would tend to advocate using HDMI if that were the case. You'd primarily only run into this problem with a plasma. HDMI is going to be a ton cheaper, presuming you don't mind waiting a week to get something from Monoprice.com
