It seemed so weird this weekend without any football at any level on TV (HS, College, Pro).. finally flipped through everything and watching the Pats-Panthers super bowl on NFL network just to feed the urge.
I'm the same kinda way with baseball (I even Tivo'd a Hawaiian League baseball game so I could watch it later), but it amazed me how much football I've watched this year. What do you guys do when your sport seasons end?
(yes, I know, 30 other teams had to go through involuntary detox :P)
Should've watched the Senior Bowl yesterday. Great game, exciting ending. But yeah, this sucks. I busted out BBCF of all things today and started fiddling with it. I suck, FWIW.

I went bowling and watched the NHL All-Star Game, which actually turned out better than I expected it to.

Are you an NBA fan? They had 2 pretty good games on ABC today that came down to the last shot. Turkoglu wasted time dancing around before finally launching up a 3 that went in to beat the Celtics and the Lakers needed a 3, but didn't even get off the shot as the Cavs won in L.A. I didn't watch Denver-Dallas, but that one was close as well. The NBA isn't as good as the NFL or MLB, but it certainly beats watching the SAG awards.

I find the time between the superbowl and march madness is the best time to catch up on my netflix movie list. That will be even more true this year thanks to the writer's strike.

It was indeed on last night, 6pm Eastern on Versus. Honestly, I think my bowling suffered because I was too busy paying attention to the hockey game. I think a couple of my teammates wanted to strangle me.
Yeah, it was a pretty good game.

My young son is a football junkie - having watched or followed nearly all of the bowl games, as well as not missing at least part of every NFL game. He was content yesterday when they replayed the NE/NYG game, as well as played the Super Bowl Classics on NFL Network.

It didn't even bother me this weekend really. It's a nice break in a way. I went bicycling with my daughter, did a little yard work, did a little work.
MLS and MLB is just around the corner, and hopefully this will be the most soccer and baseball I have seen in years this summer. I look forward to it.

Foz, that one's for you (and for all the Pats fans), on CNBC:
Touchdown! The Patriots and the business of winning (http://www.cnbc.com/id/22733317/site/14081545/?site=14081545)
I caught the last 25 minutes or so when it aired last night. It airs again tonight at 9 and midnight ET.

I just sent that link to a couple of cow-orkers in my office, and said dryly "And we wonder why the rest of the league despises us?"

That would never happen to me. The end of the football season is always a little sad. I'll start watching college basketball now, and when that's over, I'll get desperate and watch NBA playoffs. Then there's nothing of interest until preseason NFL games return.
I'm always a little sad this time of year as well. Although I've found since having young children (2 yrs, 4 months) that I didn't get to watch hardly any football this year anyway. Oddly enough, my 4 month old daughter seems more interested in the football games than my 2 year old son. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the draft...

Football ended for me on that Thursday night a few weeks ago when the Texans blasted the Broncos. I was pretty much done after that. I'm now looking forward to the Arena Football season starting up in about a month.
I had planned to watch a few bowls i have downloaded, but as i know the results, i ended playing OOTP8 that has me hocked again for any reason.

Indeed, from the title I thought this thread was going to be about Dandy Don's exploits in the MNF booth.

I thought this thread was going to be about Tom Brady figuring out how to stop impregnating models.
