Alliance? Republic? WTF?

So the new MLS team in Seattle is having a vote to pick the team name, and I swear these have got to be the lamest names I've ever seen:

Seattle Alliance
Seattle Republic
FC Seattle

What the hell is wrong with Sounders? It's only been the name of the local team for thirty friggin years or so..........

I'm voting FC Seattle. At least that way I can call them whatever the hell I want to......can't wait for 2009 though!

If you're going to do it, at least do it the right way. Just name the team Seattle Soccer Club, or Seattle SC for short. Then call them Seattle. Then come up with a uniform design and let the nickname fall out after the fact from the fans or whomever.

Couldn't agree more, especially that the MLS clubs should be SC rather than FC. The Seahawks are the FC around here...
