So I finally got around to getting FM2008 and playing it and it's time to try another of these danged sign-up dynasties.

Quick explanation of how it works (if you don't already know): Create a player using the template below and you'll be inserted into a new game. Your player can be any age you want but the older you are, the shorter your career, while the younger you are, the less likely you have any meaningful play time at the start.

All players will be starting with a potential ability of -10, so that means potentially world-class. Potentially since it's still unclear to me why some players boom and some players bust (some of the FM players have tried figuring it out but it's difficult to get a consistent database to figure it out). But at least you know you're potentially good.

So without further ado, the sign-ups start now. I'll probably have a completely arbitrary cut-off (i.e. too many pple or a date when the dynasty should start).

Since we're supposedly world class players (or potentially, rather), no way it's gonna be straight 1's, or straight garbage.

I leave it to the game to generate. The chance of it being a 1 is very low but I guess it's possible.

Also, even if you put 20 for a stat, you may or may not ever reach 20, it really depends on how the player develops.

Season stats: 6 games, 2 yellow cards, 6.67 rating

Qwikshot Norris, GK, Partick Thistle: Another of the players that is playing in Scotland, the 16 year old keeper is one of the youngest ever players to debut professionally for a Scottish team, though his appearances have been adequate at best. Valued at 5k.

Season stats: 3 games, 4 conceded, 1 clean sheet, 6.00 rating

Sean Treacy and Will Brown: The 2 16 year olds have signed pre-contracts at this time but apparently are too young to start playing professionally. Sean Treacy will be joining a Scottish club called Spartans in 2008 while Will Brown will join Monza in 2009.

It's interesting so far that most of the players are valued at such low prices, unlike FM2007 where such players often saw dramatic increase in value soon after the season started.

I have to say I don't have a good feel of how the players will pan out at this stage.

law90026
04-03-2008, 12:03 AM
Also, using MiniScout to find out the actual values of the players, they are:

Dayne Ho: 99/195
Jace Hunter: 108/181
Qwikshot Norris: 95/185
Will Brown: 102/172
Charles Schexnader: 97/182
Rob Nielsen: 89/172
Goldrin Goldberg: 106/170
K.N. Smith: 86/184
Tom Kislingbury: 103/172
Richard Dixon: 106/170
Anthony Lee: 106/172
Al Mighty: 101/172
Daniel Ertmann: 103/186
Torin Mayhen: 103/171
Sean Treacy: 104/185

First number is Current Ability, Second number is Potential Ability.

Also, I appear to have missed out Richard Dixon in the updates.

Richard Dixon, GK, Dundee: The 30k 18 year old GK also signed for Dundee where he is doing a really good job between the sticks. 16 clean sheets in 38 games is a really good record.

Season Stats: 38 games, 34 conceded, 16 clean sheets, 3 yellows, 6.55 rating.

This is going to be fun to follow. Can you add what place our squads are in the table with each update?

law90026
04-03-2008, 12:39 AM
End of Season Update:

Jace Hunter, SW/D C, Napoli: Jace didn't make many appearances for the Napoli first team this year, just 4 in total. Still, he is clearly well-regarded by his club who have slapped on a 3.9 million price tag on his head. Napoli finished the season in 9th place.

Season Stats: 4 games, 1 assist, 3 yellows, 7.00 rating

Anthony Lee, AM L, Bristol City: Another young player who found himself on the fringes of the first team in the last third of the season, Anthony managed a total of 8 appearances for Bristol City. Bristol City just managed to stave off relegation, finishing the season in 21st place (out of 24). Anthony is currently valued at 300k.

Season Stats: 8 games (2 sub), 3 assists, 2 MOMs, 1 yellow, 6.88 rating

Al Mighty, AM C, Avellino: Al spent the season training with the first team although he did manage to make 5 substitute appearances at Serie B. Part of the Italy U-19 team, Al is valued at 75k. Avellino finished the season in 7th place in Serie B.

Season Stats: 5 games (5 sub), 1 assist, 1 yelllow, 6.40 rating

Goldrin Goldberg, ST, Dundee: The 55k striker looks set to move as there are a number of clubs that have indicated their interest in him, including Charlton and Tottenham. A great first year for Goldrin as he scores 27 goals in all competitions for Dundee.

Season Stats: 42 games, 27 goals, 7 assists, 17 MOMs, 11 yellows, 1 red, 7.57 rating

Daniel Ertmann, ST, Aue: The first major move for any of the players belongs to Daniel Ertmann. Sevilla moved in to acquire Daniel Ertmann at a price of ... $0. However, the transfer apparently had a number of clauses built in and will likely increase as Daniel hits the designated milestones. Another player who had a good first year as Daniel scored 23 goals in all competitions.

Season Stats: 42 games, 23 goals, 4 assists, 8 MOMs, 9 yellows, 7.40 rating

Tom Kislingbury, AM C, Chester: Tom was a regular in the Chester team and is regarded as being indispensable for the side. However, it was a poor season for Chester, who managed 16th place in League 2, though Tom's 7 assists were definitely helpful during the campaign. Valued at 45k.

Season Stats: 42 games, 2 goals, 7 assists, 1 MOM, 4 yellows, 6.33 rating

Torin Mayhem, GK, Livingston: The U-19 England keeper was pretty much ever present for Livingston this year as he made 42 appearances in all for his club. Currently valued at 40k.

Season Stats: 42 games, 43 conceded, 13 clean sheets, 4 yellows, 6.67 rating

Richard Dixon, GK, Dundee: Another England U-19 keeper, Richard managed a very nice 16 clean sheets in 41 games for Dundee, though his overall performances were slightly worse than that of Torin. Valued at 35k.

Season Stats: 41 games, 37 conceded, 16 clean sheets, 4 yellows, 6.54 rating

Qwikshot Norris, GK, Partick Thistle: Qwikshot regained his first team spot in the last third of the year and his performances were good enough to get him a 66k transfer to Southend, who will be playing in the English Championship next season. The 17 year old keeper is valued at 22k.

Season Stats: 22 games, 18 conceded, 1 clean sheets, 2 MOMs, 4 yellows, 6.73 rating

Rob Nielsen, ST, Carolina: Midway through the season for Carolina and Rob continues to score goals at will for his club, adding another 8 so far this year. valued at 16k.

Season Stats: 12 games, 8 goals, 4 MOMs, 7.50 rating

Dayne Ho, SW/D C, Bandeirante (DF): Dayne's performances improve dramatically this year as he manages a 6.78 rating in 9 games for his club. He will be looking to move before long though. Valued at 12k.

Season Stats: 9 games, 2 assists, 1 MOM, 1 yellow, 6.78 rating

Charles Schexnader, D/WB L, DM, M LC, Dusseldorf: Charles appeared in 42 games for his club and managed 9 assists in all, testament to his unselfish playing style. Valued at 10k, there are a number of smaller French clubs who may be interested in signing him.

Season Stats: 42 games, 9 assists, 9 yellows, 6.40 rating

K.N. Smith, M C, Servette FC: K.N. is regarded as an important first team player for Servette and he is a creative maestro for his side, creating 12 goals this year. He's valued at just 4k though.

Season Stats: 42 games, 4 goals, 12 assists, 2 MOMs, 8 yellows, 1 red, 6.64 rating

Start of Season 2008/2009 update:

Jace Hunter, SW/D C, Napoli: The Canadian international picked up 2 more caps during the off-season and starts the season valued at 4.8 million. Jace is a very good freekick taker (17) and is also a weapon when it comes to long throws (15). His reading of the game is very good (anticipation 20, positioning 15) and he is also brave (15), focused (concentration 15) and determined (20), all good traits for a central defender.

Daniel Ertmann, ST, Sevilla: Valued at 4.8 million after his move to Sevilla, Daniel may find playing time hard to come by this year as he is one of 5 strikers that Sevilla has on its books. The 20 year old is a good dribbler (17), finisher (finishing 17, composure 19) and moves well off the ball (18), while his natural pace (18) and acceleration (16) can be a real threat to defences.

Charles Schexnader, D/WB L, DM, M LC, AS Nancy-Lorraine: Charles moved on a free transfer from Dusseldorf to AS Nancy-Lorraine and he will hope playing in his native France will allow him to catch the eyes of the selectors for the French U-21 team. Valued at 1.1 million, Charles is a good dribbler (18) and excellent defender (tackling and marking 18). His excellent acceleration (19) also ensures that it's not easy to speed past him.

Anthony Lee, AM L, Bristol City: A slight drop in value for Anthony as he falls to 275k. He will be looking to feature more regularly for Bristol City this year and his ability to pass the ball (crossing 18, passing 18), along with his decision making ability (18) will serve him well. Anthony is also one of the fittest players (natural fitness 20) in the game right now.

Goldrin Goldberg, ST, Tottenham: Goldrin left Dundee on a 210k transfer and joined his boyhood club, Tottenham Hotspur. The right move? Only time will tell but for now, Goldrin is in the reserve squad. A good dribbler and finisher (both 18) with excellent composure in front of goal (18), as well as being a very fast player (acceleration 19, agility and pace 18), Goldrin has the potential to blossom into a really good player.

Qwikshot Norris, GK, Southend: Qwikshot starts the season on the bench for Southend and it's looking like a training season for him this year. Valued at 65k, Qwikshot is great in the air (aerial ability 19) and has good handling and reflexes (both 17) and also commands his area well for a 17 year old (command of area and communication both 16).

Tom Kislingbury, AM C, Chester: Tom starts the season at Chester again and will look to play well and hopefully get a transfer during the mid-season transfer window. Valued at 45k, Tom is a very good freekick taker (20) and his passing is impeccable (19) and he always seems to make the right moves in the middle of the park (creativity 20, decisions 19, determination 16, flair 20).

Torin Mayhem, GK, Livingston: Slight increase in value for the England U-19 keeper as he starts his second season in Scotland. Strong in the air (18), good handling, reflexes and one-on-one ability (all 17), he is also authoritative in the box (command of area 16).

Al Mighty, AM C, Sampdoria: Al makes a move in the off-season to Sampdoria, on a 22k move. Sampdoria play in Serie A, but Al is currently in the reserves squad to start the season. A good dribbler (19) and an excellent passer of the ball (20), Al is also creative (15) and makes the right decisions (19) while his excellent acceleration and natural fitness allows him to keep up in the middle of the park (both 20).

Richard Dixon, GK, Partick Thistle: Interestingly, Richard Dixon leaves Dundee to take over the role of no.1 keeper at Partick Thistle, which is where Qwikshot played last year. The comparisons will be inevitable between the 2 U-19 England keepers. Richard is a good handler of the ball (18), while his ability in one-on-ones, excellent reflexes and quickness in rushing out (all 18) makes him hard to beat. He is eccentric though (17) and has a tendenc to punch rather than to catch (15).

K.N. Smith, M C, Servette FC: K.N.'s value increases to 18k but, oddly enough, he is slated to start on the left wing instead of in his natural position in the middle of the park. A good dribbler (16), passer and tackler (both 17), his determination (17) and bravery (15) also makes him a good candidate to lead from the middle of the pitch.

Rob Nielsen, ST, Carolina: Rob's goalscoring has dried up a little this year as he only has 11 goals in 22 games for Carolina. Will a 325k release fee tempt other clubs to come knocking on Carolina's door? A good finisher (17) with excellent technique (18) and composure (17), Rob also has a great deal of flair in his game (20).

Season stats: 22 games, 11 goals, 5 MOM, 2 yellows, 7.27 rating

Dayne Ho, SW/D C, Bandeirante (DF): Dayne remains rock solid for Bandeirante, averaging 7.00 in 20 games. Excellent first touch (17), and with great bravery (20), decision making ability (19), determination (17) and positioning (20), his drawback is that he isn't a super physical specimen.

Season Stats: 20 games, 4 assists, 1 MOM, 1 yellow, 7.00 rating

1 February 2009 Update:

Jace Hunter, SW/D C, Napoli: 11 caps for Canada for the 19 year old is an indication of how good he is... or how poor Canada is at soccer. Jace has made 3 appearances for Napoli this year and has been average. Valued at 6.75million now.

Season Stats: 3 games, 1 assist, 6.33 rating

Daniel Ertmann, ST, Sevilla: As expected, Daniel hasn't been able to find much playing time midway through his first season with Sevilla. Just one substitute appearance thus far, though he did manage a 8 rating in that game. Value drops to 3.8 million.

Season stats: 1 game (1 sub), 8.00 rating

Anthony Lee, AM L, Bristol City: Huge increase in value for the 20 year old to 1.9 million based on his superb performances for Bristol City thus far. A 7.24 rating in 17 games is very nice although Bristol City continue to struggle in the Championship (18th place).

Season stats: 17 games (1 sub), 1 goal, 4 assists, 1 MOM, 3 yellows, 7.24 rating

Charles Schexnader, D/WB L, DM, M LC, AS Nancy-Lorraine: Charles value has also increased to 1.8 million, though it's unclear why at this stage, since he hasn't appeared at all so far, even in friendly games.

Season Stats: none

Goldrin Goldberg, ST, Tottenham: Tottenham loan Goldrin out to QPR in January 2009 to get some first team playing experience, albeit in a lower league (the Championship). Goldrin has started 3 games since he moved and hasn't scored yet.

Season stats: 3 games, 1 yellow, 6.67 rating

Al Mighty, AM C, Sampdoria: Al is currently listed as being available for loan as he hasn't had an opportunity to step up to the Sampdoria first team yet. He has played in 23 under-20 games though and fared well, with 2 goals and 8 assists to go along with 4 MOM awards and a 6.91 rating.

Season stats: none.

Qwikshot Norris, GK, Southend: Qwikshot's season is being marred by injury. 2 weeks out with a bruised thigh in September 2008 and now a broken hand, he has been unable to get a regular starting spot at this time.

Season stats: 3 games, 5 conceded, 6.33 rating

Torin Mayhem, GK, Livingston: The England U-19 keeper is now valued at 60k and is drawing interest from some smaller English clubs like Leeds, Leicester and Millwall. He's conceding a lot of goals this year though, 41 in just 31 games. More disturbing are the 2 red cards he has already received this year.

Season stats: 31 games, 41 conceded, 6 clean sheets, 6 yellows, 2 reds, 6.32 rating

Tom Kislingbury, AM C, Chester: Tom is playing at about the same level as last year with an overall rating of 6.38. 4 goals and 6 assists so far is a nice return for an attacking midfielder.

Season Stats: 29 games (1 sub), 4 goals, 6 assists, 4 yellows, 1 red, 6.38 rating.

Richard Dixon, GK, Partick Thistle: Statistically, Richard is playing really well, with just 9 goals conceded in 18 games. However, his rating hasn't been great, an indication that it's his defence that's playing well perhaps?

Season stats: 18 games, 9 conceded, 12 clean sheets, 3 yellows, 6.39 rating

Dayne Ho, SW/D C, Bandeirante (DF): At the end of his second season with Bandeirante, Dayne managed to make 36 appearances and had a solid 6.94 rating. He has a minimum release fee of 1.6 million in his contract and is deemed to be indispensable.

Season stats: 36 games, 4 assists, 1 MOM, 6.94 rating

Rob Nielsen, ST, Carolina: Rob played somewhat worse than last year, though he still managed to score 20 goals for Carolina. His season ended somewhat prematurely when he pulled a hamstring. Valued at 18k.

Season stats: 38 games, 20 goals, 2 assists, 8 MOMs, 7.26 rating

K.N. Smith, M C, Servette FC: K.N. continues to play solidly for Servette, creating 17 goals so far this year. For some reason, that only served to reduce his value to 9k, perhaps because of his 4 red cards?

Season stats: 31 games, 17 assists, 4 MOMs, 5 yellows, 4 reds, 6.74 rating

Sean Treacy, Spartans: Playing for a club that's akin to a non-league side means that Sean has a value of 0. Still, he is a US U-21 international and has made appearances and scored 1 goal for the U-21 side.

Season stats: 8 games, 2 assistss, 1 yellow, 7.13 rating.

2008/2009 End of Season Update:

Jace Hunter, SW/D C, Napoli: Make that 16 caps for Canada and a total of 6 appearances for Napoli this year for the 20 year old. Jace's value drops to 5.75 million but he was named to the Napoli Seasonal Best 11 players ... as their 16th man. Napoli finished the season in 13th place.

Season Stats: 6 games (3 sub), 1 assist, 6.17 rating
2009 Napoli Seasonal Best 11

Anthony Lee, AM L, Bristol City: Anthony ends the season valued at 3.7 million, a dramatic increase from the start of the year. He played consistently well throughout the year and it's a surprise he hasn't been called up to the England U-21 set-up yet. Bristol City flirted with relegation again, finishing the season in 20th place out of 24.

Season stats: 26 games (4 sub), 3 goals, 7 assists, 1 MOM, 5 yellows, 7.12 rating
2009 Bristol City Seasonal Best 11
Named to Championship Team of the Week once

Daniel Ertmann, ST, Sevilla: Daniel played a total of 3 games for Sevilla although he did manage to score a goal. He has a bright future ahead of him if he gets a chance to play more. Valued at 3.7 million. Sevilla finished the season in 5th place in La Liga.

Season stats: 3 games (2 sub), 1 goal, 7.33 rating
Named to La Liga Team of the Week once

Charles Schexnader, D/WB L, DM, M LC, AS Nancy-Lorraine: Nothing much to report for Charles as he spent the entire season doing nothing at all, although his value has now increased to 2.1 million.

Season Stats: none

Goldrin Goldberg, ST, Tottenham: The England U-19 international spent a couple of months at QPR where he scored 4 goals in 13 games and was named as the Championship Young Player of the Month for February. Returning to Tottenham, he was again placed in the reserves. Spurs ended the season in 6th place. Valued at 2 million.

Season stats: QPR: 13 games, 4 goals, 2 assists, 1 yellow, 7.08 rating
Championship Young Player of the Month for February 2009

Al Mighty, AM C, Sampdoria: Sampdoria loaned Al out to Swiss side Young Boys and Al has taken the opportunity to show what he can do with some first team opportunities. Al is an Italian U-19 international and is currently valued at 1.5 million.

Season stats: Young Boys: 13 games, 4 goals, 4 assists, 1 yellow, 7.15 rating

Torin Mayhem, GK, Livingston: The England U-19 keeper ends the year still at Livingston. His performances have improved slightly over the last third of the year as he conceded just 9 goals in 11 games. Valued at 75k.

Season stats: 42 games, 50 conceded, 10 clean sheets clean sheets, 7 yellows, 2 reds, 6.40 rating

Qwikshot Norris, GK, Southend: Qwikshot plays just 1 game in the last third of the season and conceded 4 goals. Still, at least he has been called up by the Scotland U-19 squad, though he hasn't actually received a cap yet. Valued at 65k, Qwikshot has drawn some interest from Millwall and Stoke. Southend finished the year in 11th place in the Championship.

Season stats: 4 games, 9 conceded, 6.25 rating

Tom Kislingbury, AM C, Chester: Tom plays well enough this year to procure a move to Southend for the 2009/2010 season (3k + clauses). Named to the Chester Seasonal Best 11, Tom was also named to the League 2 Team of the Week twice. Chester finished the season in 13th place.

Season Stats: 44 games (1 sub), 4 goals, 10 assists, 1 MOM, 6 yellows, 1 red, 6.30 rating

Richard Dixon, GK, Partick Thistle: Richard conceded goals at an alarming rate in the second half of the season, 25 goals in 18 games. Not the best year for the England U-19 keeper. Rumour has it that Sheffield Wednesday may be interested in signing him and bringing him back to England.

Season stats: 36 games, 34 conceded, 16 clean sheets, 8 yelllows, 6.25 rating

Rob Nielsen, ST, Carolina: At the start of the season, Rob has scored 4 goals in 8 games for Carolina and that finally gets him noticed by the Danish U-19 team, who have called him up. Currently valued at 22k.

Season stats: 8 games, 4 goals, 2 MOM, 7.00 rating

Dayne Ho, SW/D C, Bandeirante (DF): Still considered indispensable to his club, Dayne is a first choice for the team although he hasn't garnered much interest from other clubs yet. Valued at 14k.

Season stats: 12 games, 4 yellows, 6.50 rating

K.N. Smith, M C, Servette FC: Fabulous season for K.N. statistically although his value continues to drop to 5k. 22 assists in all competitions and yet he still seems to be undervalued.

Season stats: 42 games, 22 assists, 5 MOM, 10 yellows, 4 reds, 6.76 rating

Sean Treacy, Spartans: The US U-21 international continues to have 0 value on paper, although he is playing well for Spartans. Considering he is a defensive midfielder, his 8 assists are impressive.

Season stats: 24 games, 1 goal, 8 assists, 3 yellows, 7.00 rating

Will Brown, ST, Monza: Will will finally be joining up with Monza in July 2009 and will be hoping to start his career with a bang.

Season 2009/2019 Start of Season Update:

Jace Hunter, SW/D C, Napoli: The 5.5 million defender is slated to be a first team starter this year and he'll be hoping to play well this year. His ratings are 127/181 this year, which show an improvement of 19 points so far.

Anthony Lee, AM L, Bristol City: Major surprise as Anthony makes a big money move (4 million) but goes down a division to League 1 to join Oldham. Apparently Anthony was more interested in earning $10,250 a week (the highest paid player amongst the 15) rather than play at a higher level. Current stats are 126/172, an increase in 20 pts so far.

Daniel Ertmann, ST, Sevilla: Daniel will likely start the season on the bench again as he only made 1 substitute appearance during the pre-season friendlies. Valued at 3.8 million still, his stats are currently 120/186, an increase of 17 pts.

Goldrin Goldberg, ST, Tottenham: Goldrin starts the season in the reserves again but he may be looking at a loan to some lower division sides for playing time. Valued at 2.4 million, his stats are at 126/170, an increase of 20 pts.

Charles Schexnader, D/WB L, DM, M LC, AS Nancy-Lorraine: Increase in value to 2.2 million for Charles but it still doesn't look likely he will get any playing time this year as he didn't feature at all in the pre-season for Nancy-Lorraine. 110/182 are his stats and it looks like the lack of playing time has hurt his progression (13 pt increase).

Al Mighty, AM C, Sampdoria: Al is loaned out again to Young Boys as Sampdoria is unable to find a spot in the team for him. At least Al will get regular playing time in Switzerland. His current stats are at 120/172, an increase of 19 pts.

Torin Mayhem, GK, Bradford: The England U-21 keeper makes a 550k move to Bradford in the English League 1 where it seems likely he will be the 1st choice keeper for the year. His stats are at 121/171, an increase of 18 pts.

Qwikshot Norris, GK, Wigan: Another player who made a move during the off-season as Qwikshot is signed by Wigan in a 220k deal. Qwikshot will be the understudy to the first choice Wigan keeper and hope to find a few games over the course of the year. Current ratings are at 112/185, an increase of 17 pts.

Will Brown, ST, Monza: The Monza striker is valued at 140k and has featured regularly for the first team in the pre-season. Despite not playing at all in the past 2+ years, Will has seen his ratings increase to 120/172, an increase of 18 pts.

Richard Dixon, GK, Swindon: Richard also moves in the off-season, joining his 3rd club in 3 seasons. He signed for Championship side Swindon Town in a 90k transfer and he will start for them this year. He hasn't progressed much so far though, just a 10 pt increase to 116/170.

Dayne Ho, SW/D C, Bandeirante (DF): Dayne finally leaves the Brazilian league behind in a 90k move and he will be playing for Getafe in the Spanish La Liga this year. He has improved by 16 pts to 115/195 but it looks like he will not see much playing time this year.

Rob Nielsen, ST, Carolina: Rob remains at Carolina where he continues to average a goal every 2 games. He is part of the Danish U-19 team at this time and is valued at 22k. His current ratings are at 103/172, a 14 pt increase.

Season Stats: 20 games, 10 goals, 2 assists, 6 MOM, 4 yellows, 7.10 rating

K.N. Smith, M C, Servette FC: The Servette midfielder is valued at 14k at the start of the year. He may play well for his side but that appears to be because the quality of play in the Swiss league isn't high at all. His ratings of 84/184 are definitely on the low side and he has actually seen his ability decrease by 2pts.

Tom Kislingbury, AM C, Southend: So far, Southend has had to pay 3 k for Tom's services, hence his very low value. He is currently not slated to start but the suspicion is that he will get an opportunity sooner or later. His ratings of 122/172 show an increase of 19 pts.

Sean Treacy, Spartans: Still valueless, but Sean is leaving Spartans soon as he is considering offers from Brighton, Colchester, Crewe, Darlington, Leyton Orient and Los Angeles. He hasn't improved much, just a 2 pt increase to 106/185.

February 2010 Update:

Jace Hunter, SW/D C, Napoli: Despite high expectations, Jace Hunter has failed to perform as well as expected for Napoli, which resulted in him being dropped from the first team. Current value of 5.75 million.

Season stats: 4 games (3 sub), 1 yellow, 6.75 rating

Goldrin Goldberg, ST, Tottenham: Goldrin has been promoted to the Spurs squad after an excellent short loan stint at Leyton Orient. It's not clear if he'll get much playing time though as he is one of 5 forwards/strikers in the team.

Season Stats: (Leyton Orient - loan): 13 games, 9 goals, 2 assists, 4 MOMs, 7.31 rating, named to League 1 Team of the Week once

Anthony Lee, AM L, Bristol City: The 3.5 million left winger appears content to be a big fish in a small pond as he is happy at Oldham and his performances have been good overall. He was named as the League 1 Player of the Month for August.

Season Stats: 35 games, 8 goals, 11 assists, 7 MOMs, 5 yellows, 7.20 rating
League 1 Player of the Month for August 2009
Named to League 1 Team of the Week once

Al Mighty, AM C, Sampdoria: Al hasn't performed as well for Young Boys thus far this year, appearing in 7 games and averaging 6.86. Al got his first taste of European action though when he appeared in Young Boy's games in the first round of the Euro Cup. Valued at 3.4 million and now with the Italy U-21 squad.

Season stats: 7 games (1 sub), 6.86 rating

Daniel Ertmann, ST, Sevilla: Daniel is valued at 3 million at this time but he has appeared in 7 games for Sevilla this year. His performances have been poor though and are an indication he isn't quite ready for top-flight football yet.

Season Stats: 7 games (3 sub), 3 goals, 6.00 rating

Charles Schexnader, D/WB L, DM, M LC, AS Nancy-Lorraine: Charles finally makes his debut for Nancy-Lorraine and makes 2 appearances for his club. Valued at 2.6 million, Charles has garnered some attention from La Liga side Racing.

Season Stats: 2 games, 2 yellows, 7.00 rating

Torin Mayhem, GK, Bradford: Bad season so far for Torin as he lets in goals at a prodigous rate. 44 conceded in just 27 games is a pretty bad record for the England U-21 international. Valued at 500k.

Season Stats: 27 games, 44 conceded, 3 clean sheets, 1 yellow, 1 red, 6.22 rating

Qwikshot Norris, GK, Wigan: Qwikshot appears to be sharing time with the other keeper in the team, former Man Utd keeper Roy Carroll. Qwikshot has appeared in 8 games so far and played pretty badly though that hasn't stopped the Scotland U-21 team from calling him up. Valued at 220k.

Season stats: 8 games (1 sub), 14 conceded, 1 clean sheet, 6.00 rating

Richard Dixon, GK, Swindon: Richard is another keeper finding it rough at his new club, conceding 21 goals in 15 games. Also part of the England U-21 setup with Torin Mayhem and is currently valued at 110k.

Season stats: 15 games, 21 conceded, 4 clean sheets, 1 MOM, 1 yellow, 6.47 rating

Will Brown, ST, Monza: The 18 year old US U-21 international is playing really well in his debut season with Monza, scoring 18 goals in 32 games thus far. Currently valued at 100k.

Season stats: 32 games, 18 goals, 8 assists, 6 MOMs, 8 yellows, 7.47 rating

Dayne Ho, SW/D C, Getafe: Dayne has been called up to the Portugal U-21 squad, perhaps an indication he has given up on playing for his native Brazil. He has played a few games for Getafe and has been decent though not spectacular. valued at 70k.

Season stats: 5 games (1 sub), 6.60 rating

Tom Kislingbury, AM C, Southend: Tim is actually playing decently in the Championship (6.41 rating) but his 4 substitute appearances in various cup competitions (5.75 rating) have made his overall stats appear worse then they really are. Valued at 40k right now.

Season stats: 21 games (10 sub), 2 assists, 2 yellows, 6.29 rating

Sean Treacy, Brighton: Sean Treacy eventually signed for Brighton who play in League 1 but it appears he may move again soon as there have been bids from Los Angeles, Kansas City and Colorado for the US U-21 international. Valued at 35k.

Season stats: 21 games (2 sub), 5 assists, 1 MOM, 1 yellow, 6.71 rating

Rob Nielsen, ST, Carolina: Rob changes his mind about playing for Denmark and has been called up to the US U-21 team where he has his 1st cap. He scored 17 goals for Carolina last season and is currently valued at 20k.

Season Stats: 36 games, 17 goals, 4 assists, 9 MOMs, 7.06 rating

K.N. Smith, M C, Servette FC: K.N. is valued at 10k now and continues to be a stalwart in the middle of the park for Servette. It doesn't look like he's going to achieve great things right now to be honest.

Season Stats: 30 games, 1 goal, 7 assists, 8 yellows, 6.40 rating

End of 2009/2010 Season Update:

Goldrin Goldberg, ST, Tottenham: Goldrin manages to make his debut for Spurs this year as he makes a total of 4 appearances for the first team and even scores his first ever Spurs goal in a 1-1 draw with Wigan. Unfortunately, that was also Goldrin's last appearance for Spurs as he broke his ribs in that match and was out for a month after that. Valued at 6.25 million, the England U-19 international will be hoping to get more first team action next season. Spurs finished the season in 7th place in the Premier League.

Season Stats:
4 games, 1 goal, 6.67 rating
(Leyton Orient - loan): 13 games, 9 goals, 2 assists, 4 MOMs, 7.31 rating, named to League 1 Team of the Week once

Jace Hunter, SW/D C, Napoli: This season will be considered a disappointment for the Canadian international who only managed to make 5 appearances for Napoli. Current value of 4.9 million, there are rumours Arsenal are interested in signing him. Napoli finished the season in 17th place in Serie A, narrowly avoiding relegation.

Season stats: 5 games (3 sub), 2 yellows, 6.80 rating

Al Mighty, AM C, Sampdoria: The Italian U-21 international finishes off another season with Young Boys where he played in 11 games and created 2 goals. Al will be hoping to get an opportunity with Sampdoria next year rather than being loaned out to a lesser side. Valued at 3.7 million.

Season stats: 11 games (1 sub), 2 assists, 6.90 rating

Daniel Ertmann, ST, Sevilla: The 3.4 million rated striker manages to perform decently for Sevilla in the 2nd half of the season, appearing in a total of 12 games and scoring an impressive 6 goals in limited chances. Yet to be called up to the US national team, Daniel will fancy his chances at some point in time. Sevilla finished the season 4th in La Liga.

Season Stats: 12 games (3 sub), 6 goals, 1 yellow, 6.50 rating

Anthony Lee, AM L, Bristol City: Anthony finishes the season valued at 3.2 million and was recognised as the best left winger in League 1 when he was named to the League 1 Best Eleven side. Anthony also helped Oldham to 2nd place and automatic promotion to the Championship.

Season Stats: 46 games, 9 goals, 14 assists, 10 MOMs, 5 yellows, 1 red, 7.15 rating
2010 League 1 Best Eleven Select
League 1 Player of the Month for August 2009
Named to League 1 Team of the Week once

Charles Schexnader, D/WB L, DM, M LC, AS Nancy-Lorraine: Nothing much to report on Charles as he fails to make any other appearances for Nancy-Lorraine though his value continues to rise to 2.7 million.

Season Stats: 2 games, 2 yellows, 7.00 rating

Dayne Ho, SW/D C, Getafe: The Portugese U-21 international appeared in a total of 10 games for Getafe this year and played solidly when given the chance. He sealed up a starting spot in the center of defence near the end of the season which is a good sign for next year. Getafe finished in 12th place in the Spanish La Liga.

Season stats: 10 games (1 sub), 2 yellow, 7.00 rating

Will Brown, ST, Chivas USA: The 18 year old moved to Chivas USA in a 525k transfer, leaving beside the small Monza side which played in a lower division (lower than Serie B). The US season hasn't started yet for Chivas, which now boasts a forward line up of Will Brown and Rob Nielsen.

Qwikshot Norris, GK, Wigan: Qwikshot makes just one more appearance for Wigan the rest of the year and keeps a clean sheet for that game. The Scotland U-21 international is currently valued at 475k. Wigan was relegated from the Premiership, finishing in 19th place.

Season stats: 9 games (1 sub), 14 conceded, 2 clean sheet, 6.11 rating

Torin Mayhem, GK, Bradford: The England U-21 international sees his value drop to 300k although he did manage to win a Young Player of the Month award for February 2010. Torin did play better in the second half of the year as he managed to reduce the number of goals conceded quite dramatically (just 6 in 10 games). Bradford finished 14th in League 1 this year.

Season Stats: 37 games, 50 conceded, 9 clean sheets, 2 yellows, 1 red, 6.38 rating

Richard Dixon, GK, Swindon: The England U-21 international will be wondering if his poor performances in the 2nd half of the year resulted in Swindon's relegation (24th place out of 24) as he conceded 22 goals in 13 games. He'll be playing in League 1 next year with Swindon.

Season stats: 28 games, 43 conceded, 6 clean sheets, 2 MOM, 1 yellow, 6.38 rating

Rob Nielsen, ST, Chivas USA: Rob makes a 70k move to Chivas USA where he'll hope to strike up a strong partnership with Will Brown. The move to a higher standard league should be a good move for Rob. Rob's career with Carolina was impressive, with a total of 55 goals and 26 MOMs in 96 league games for Carolina.

Tom Kislingbury, AM C, Southend: Tim only plays sparingly in the second half of the year although it's not totally clear why that was the case. Valued at 40k still. Southend finished the season in 16th place in the Championship.

Season stats: 26 games (12 sub), 1 goal, 3 assists, 2 yellows, 6.31 rating

Sean Treacy, Brighton: Sean Treacy will be leaving Brighton for Kansas City in the off-season, another young US player deciding to return to the US. Will it be a good career move? Only time will tell.

Season stats: 26 games (5 sub), 5 assists, 1 MOM, 3 yellow, 6.65 rating

K.N. Smith, M C, Servette FC: K.N. finishes yet another season with Servette, where he has been a loyal servant thus far. A drop in his performance overall though as he only managed 9 assists this year.

Season Stats: 42 games, 1 goal, 9 assists, 11 yellows, 6.43 rating

Yes, in fact they were 3rd in the Championship but missed out on promotion in the play-offs.

What were the season stats for Will Brown? Thanks
Sorry bout that, I can only give you the league stats for Will Brown (since the game doesn't record cup games in the history section).

26 games, 12 goals, 4 assists, 4 MOMs, 7.27 rating

Start of Season 2010/2011 Update:

Jace Hunter, SW/D C, Napoli: Jace Hunter may be in trouble this year as he currently isn't slated to be in the first 16 for Napoli. Will this mean even less playing time for the team? Valued at 5.5 million, Jace has been capped 19 times for Canada. Current ratings are 140/181, a 13 pt increase from last year.

Goldrin Goldberg, ST, Tottenham: Another player who may not get much playing time this year, Goldrin is still 5th choice out of the 5 Tottenham first team forward/strikers. Valued at 5.25 million, the former England U-19 international's current ratings are 133/170, a 7 pt increase from last year.

Daniel Ertmann, ST, Sevilla: Promisingly, it appears Daniel is one of the 2 first choice forwards for the Sevilla team. Will that last? It's not clear but Daniel scored a pre-season goal in the 2 friendly matches he started. Valued at 4.2 million, his ratings are currently 132/186, an increase of 12 pts from last year.

Al Mighty, AM C, Sampdoria: Al might as well change his club to Young Boys since he is loaned out yet again to the Swiss side. Will he ever get a chance at Sampdoria? It's not clear but Al does have time on his side as he is only 20 years old. Valued at 3.7 million, his current ratings are 132/172, an increase of 12 pts from last year.

Anthony Lee, AM L, Oldham: Anthony Lee will hope to build on last year's strong performance and push Oldham to the Premiership and/or get more recognition from the bigger sides. The 22 year old looks to have a bright future ahead if he can keep up his form and is currently valued at 3.7 million. His current stats are at 134/172, an increase of 8 pts from last year.

Charles Schexnader, D/WB L, DM, M LC, AS Nancy-Lorraine: The 22 year old French youngster is valued at 2.9 million but he has hardly ever played thus far in his career, a total of just 35 league games in 4 seasons. He's still not slated to be a first-team player this year. Current stats are 122/182, an increase of 12 pts.

Dayne Ho, SW/D C, Getafe: The Portugese U-21 international is pencilled in as a first choice centreback this year, hopefully he can hold on to that spot. Currently valued at 775k, his current stats are 126/195, an increase of 11 pts.

Will Brown, ST, Chivas USA: The 19 year old will be hoping to make his debut in the MLS soon but the coach hasn't given any indication of who will be in his first team. Will is valued at 525k and his current stats are 129/172, an increase of 9 pts.

Qwikshot Norris, GK, Wigan: It looks like Qwikshot is the first choice keeper this year over Roy Carroll as he has been given the No. 1 shirt. Valued at 450k, Qwikshot's stats are currently 128/185, an increase of 16 pts.

Torin Mayhem, GK, Bradford: The Bradford keeper is going to miss the start of the season as he twisted an ankle badly. Will that mean he loses his place to the sub keeper? Valued at 230k and his current stats are 131/171, an increase of 10 pts.

Tom Kislingbury, AM C, Southend: Early season drama for Tom as he has told the media that he think there's too much competition for midfield spots in Southend. If only people cared what Championship midfielders actually thought. Valued at 180k, Tom's current stats are 135/172, an increase of 13 pts.

Richard Dixon, GK, Swindon: Richard will hope to improve on last year's performance and push Swindon back to the Championship. He was named to the Swindon Best 11 side for 2010 though. Valued at 170k, his current stats are 121/170, an increase of 5 pts.

Sean Treacy, DM C, Kansas City: Sean Treacy left Brighton after being named to their Seasonal Best 11 in 2010. He'll hope to play well for Kansas City in the MLS, where he'll face other promising youngsters like Will Brown and Rob Nielsen. Valued at 150k, his current stats are 120/185, a 14 pt increase.

Rob Nielsen, ST, Chivas USA: Another player in the MLS, Rob will want to prove he can play at a higher level after dominating the semi-pro leagues. It'll be interesting to see if he partners Will Brown in attack or whether he's relegated to the bench this year. Currently valued at 70k, his stats are 109/172, a 6 pt increase.

K.N. Smith, M C, Servette FC: Another year for K.N. at Servette where he just hasn't developed much as a footballer at all. Still at 84/184, K.N. is valued at 10k and looks destined to play lower level football for his career.

February 2011 Update:

Goldrin Goldberg, ST, Tottenham: The England U-21 striker (7 caps, 6 goals) has been given a few opportunities to play so far in the campaign and he has shown some promise in the Premier League (7 games, 2 goals, 7.00 rating). It'll be interesting to see how many more appearances the 6.25 million striker gets this year.

Season Stats: 8 games, 2 goals, 1 yellow, 6.88 rating

Jace Hunter, SW/D C, Palermo: Jace makes the move from Napoli to Palermo for 4.7 million as he continued to struggle to find consistent playing time for Napoli. He is currently pencilled in as the starter for Palermo at this time and has made 3 first team appearances for his new club.

Season Stats:
(Napoli): 3 games, 6.67 rating
(Palermo): 3 games, 7.00 rating

Anthony Lee, AM L, Fulham: Another player who makes a move for 4.9 million is Anthony Lee as he leaves Oldham for fellow Championship side Fulham, who were relegated in 2008/2009. Anthony is playing pretty decently for his new club and may be able to drive them to promotion (Fulham are currently 5th). Anthony leaves Oldham after being inducted into their Overall Best 11 of all time.

Season Stats:
(Oldham): 1 game, 7.00 rating
(Fulham): 35 games (7 sub), 8 goals, 7 assists, 1 MOM, 6 yellows, 6.71 rating

Al Mighty, AM C, Sampdoria: The Young Boys midfielder is playing very well this year, creating 13 goals in 24 games for his side. He's valued at 3.6 million right now and he managed to win a minor medal with Young Boys when they were runners-up in the the 2010 Euro Vase Cup.

Season Stats: 24 games, 13 assists, 2 MOM, 10 yellows, 7.04 rating

Daniel Ertmann, ST, Sevilla: The 3.2 million striker is a regular in the first team this year and has proved capable of playing top-flight football for Sevilla with 8 goals in 15 games. He's still waiting for a US call-up which shouldn't be too far away now based on his recent performances.

Season stats: 15 games (1 sub), 8 goals, 1 assist, 4 MOM, 6.87 rating

Charles Schexnader, D/WB L, DM, M LC, Leverkusen: The best player never to have played a game makes a move from Nancy-Lorraine to German side Leverkusen where, surprise surprise, he is not in the first team again. It was a 1.4 million move which is a bit of a surprise considering Charles has played a total of 35 games in his career so far.

Season stats: None.

Dayne Ho, SW/D C, Getafe: The former Portugese U-21 international is getting some valuable first time action this year, making 7 appearances thus far. His performances haven't been sterling though.

Season Stats: 7 games, 1 assist, 1 yellow, 1 red, 6.57 rating

Will Brown, ST, Chivas USA: The MLS season is yet to start but it looks like Will is going to be a started for Chivas as he's played in 3 pre-season friendlies thus far and scored 2 goals. Currently valued at 475k.

Tom Kislingbury, AM C, Southend: Tom manages to hold down a first team spot despite complaining about the competition early on. He hasn't played tremendously well but he's been good enough so far to help Southend to 7th place in the Championship.

Season Stats: 17 games (4 sub), 1 goal, 1 assist, 2 yelllows, 6.41 rating

Torin Mayhem, GK, Bradford: The England U-21 keeper remains the first choice keeper for Bradford, who are currently 4th in League 1. Torin has played pretty well this year, conceding 22 goals in 20 games but keeping 7 clean sheets. In other news, Torin Mayhem has been inducted into the Bradford City Overall Best 11 players of all time.

Season Stats: 20 games, 22 conceded, 7 clean sheets, 6.55 rating

Qwikshot Norris, GK, Wigan: Well, it turns out the pre-season hype was wrong as Qwikshot finds himself warming the bench this year for Wigan and has yet to make an appearance for the club. Currently valued at 300k, he has won 9 caps for the Scotland U-21 side.

Season Stats: None.

Sean Treacy, DM C, Kansas City: Another player who looks to have cemented a place in the first team with his new club, Sean has appeared in pre-season games for his new club and managed to score 1 goal and create 3 more!

Season Stats: None.

Rob Nielsen, ST, Chivas USA: Not as much good news for Rob Nielsen as he has failed to appear in any pre-season games for Chivas and looks set to be placed on the bench.

Season Stats: None.

Richard Dixon, GK, Swindon: In surprising news, Richard, who was the first choice keeper, has been demoted to the Reserves Squad, for reasons that are as yet unclear. It's somewhat surprising since he wasn't playing terribly.

Season Stats: 17 games, 22 conceded, 5 clean sheets, 4 yellows, 6.41 rating

K.N. Smith, M C, Servette FC: K.N. is playing well for Servette, back to creating goals at will for his teammates (12 in 18 games). It would be nice to see him play at a higher quality league but no interest in the 12k player thus far.

Season Stats: 18 games (1 sub), 12 assists, 7.06 rating

End of Season 2010/2011 Update:

Goldrin Goldberg, ST, Tottenham: Goldrin doesn't get that many more opportunities to play over the 2nd half of the year but does manage 1 more goal in 2 appearances. His value has gone up to 9 million based on his limited appearances this year, as well as his outstanding record for the England U-21's (10 caps, 9 goals). Spurs finished the season in 3rd place in the Premier League.

Season Stats: 10 games, 3 goals, 1 yellow, 6.90 rating

Jace Hunter, SW/D C, Palermo: The Palermo centreback proves to be a solid signing as he plays very good football over 19 games for his new club. Jace also managed his first ever Serie A Team of the Week award in May 2011. Valued at 6.25 million. Palermo finished the season in 8th place (and Europe next year) but Napoli did better (5th place).

Season Stats:
(Napoli): 3 games, 6.67 rating
(Palermo): 19 games, 2 yellows, 1 red, 7.16 rating

Al Mighty, AM C, Sampdoria: The Young Boys midfielder hasn't played anymore since February. Currently valued at 4.3 million right now.

Season Stats: 24 games, 13 assists, 2 MOM, 10 yellows, 7.04 rating

Anthony Lee, AM L, Fulham: And Anthony helps Fulham get promoted to the Premier League! Fulham came in 2nd in the Championship, backed by Anthony's 5 league goals and 5 league assists. Anthony didn't do all that much in the 2nd half of the year though as he missed a whole month in March due to a twisted ankle and couldn't quite force his way back into the first team again after that injury. Valued at 4 million.

Season Stats:
(Oldham): 1 game, 7.00 rating
(Fulham): 38 games (9 sub), 8 goals, 8 assists, 1 MOM, 6 yellows, 6.68 rating

Charles Schexnader, D/WB L, DM, M LC, Leverkusen: Charles finally plays!!! The 23 year old makes 18 appearances for his new club and creates 4 goals in that time. The 1.7 million rated player may finally be able to start proving his worth. His disciplinary record is deplorable though.

Season stats: 18 games, 4 assists, 2 MOMs, 6 yellows, 2 reds, 6.44 rating.

Daniel Ertmann, ST, Sevilla: Daniel sees his value drop dramatically to 1.6 million as he fails to keep up his performances over the first half of the year (6 games, no goals or assists). Still, probably a successful year overall for Daniel Ertmann as he definitely played in more games than originally anticipated.

Season stats: 21 games (2 sub), 8 goals, 1 assist, 4 MOM, 6.76 rating

Qwikshot Norris, GK, Wigan: In a transfer that just beat the close of the transfer window, Qwikshot found himself back in the Premiership when he joined Reading (9th in the Premiership this year). He again found playing time hard to come by as he was often sitting on the bench behind Chris Kirkland. He did manage to make 3 appearances in all though and is currently valued at 1.2 million.

Season Stats: 3 games, 4 conceded, 1 clean sheet, 7.00 rating

Will Brown, ST, Chivas USA: Will is playing very well for Chivas right now, scoring 6 goals in 12 games and averaging a 7.50 rating. His value is now at 800k and New York is reportedly interested in signing the US U-21 international.

Season Stats: 12 games, 6 goals, 2 MOM, 2 yellows, 7.50 rating

Dayne Ho, SW/D C, Getafe: The first player to win a real trophy thus far is Dayne Ho, who wins the Spanish Cup with Getafe (although he was injured and had to be stretched off after 33 mins). That will end his time at Getafe though as he signed a contract with Cadiz. Sadly, Cadiz got relegated and Dayne will be playing in the Liga B next year.

Season Stats: 15 games, 1 assist, 2 yellows, 1 red, 6.73 rating
2011 Spanish Cup winner

Torin Mayhem, GK, Bradford: Another player that helps his club get promoted is Torin Mayhem, as his Bradford City side finished 5th in League 1 but managed to win promotion via the play-offs. He currently has 11 England U-21 caps and is valued at 425k.

Season Stats: 39 games, 43 conceded, 13 clean sheets, 3 yellows, 6.54 rating

Tom Kislingbury, AM C, Southend: Tom was pretty much a bit player in the 2nd half of the year, which coincidentally saw Southend drop to 15th place in the Championship. Just 5 games between February to May didn't give Tom much opportunity to shine. Valued at 350k.

Season Stats: 22 games (5 sub), 1 goal, 2 assists, 2 yelllows, 6.36 rating

Sean Treacy, DM C, Kansas City: Well, the coach decided not to play Sean Treacy regularly until now and that'll be a disappointment for the US-21 international, who had started the season with high hopes of dominating the MLS. Valued at 350k.

Season Stats: 2 games, 7.00 rating

Rob Nielsen, ST, Chivas USA: As expected, Rob Nielsen finds himself without an opportunity to play for Chivas this year. Perhaps he'll get a chance if Will Brown moves. Valued at 240k.

Season Stats: None.

Richard Dixon, GK, Swindon: Richard gets promoted back to the first team near the end of the year and makes 3 more appearances for Swindon. It's still unclear what exactly happened to him at this time but he'll hope to do better next year. Valued at 160k.

Season Stats: 20 games (1 sub), 25 conceded, 6 clean sheets, 4 yellows, 6.40 rating

K.N. Smith, M C, Servette FC: K.N.'s performance dipped ever so slightly over the 2nd half of the season though he was still a good performer for Servette. 1 goal and 14 assists are a good return from a midfielder at any level.

Season Stats: 29 games (1 sub), 1 goal, 14 assists, 7.00 rating

Huh, well that's frustrating, I understand now why there are complaints about Genie (one of the scouting programs that is commonly used), since it has corrupted my save game and it can't be loaded :(

This game has been useful for me though because it's an indication to me that I need to tweak the parameters a little more for the created players, otherwise they might really suffer in terms of performance in FM2008. In FM2007, we had a whole bunch of players playing top flight football but that doesn't seem to be as easy in FM2008, at least based on this experience.

Sorry about that again.
