A question about fantasy football (auction/keeper)

I've always wanted to start an auction/keeper league but I really don't know what rules/salary cap, ect I should use for something like this. Anybody have experience in something like this or a link where I could find some for a basis of the league?

I was in an auction/keeper football league for 5 years before it folded. Our big issue was that the point system favored RBs so essentially the draft was everyone spending 80% of their money on RBs and the rest on the other positions. Kickers usually were $1, the same with defenses and TEs. Unlike baseball though, if you hit on a guy at a cheap price it can really skew everything in the league and values.
