Pretty amazing story considering this inventor does not have a college education. He was motivated to create this due to his own bout with cancer and when using radio waves in combination with nanoparticles it looks like this is the closest thing I have seen to a cure. Some truly amazing stuff.

This will never work. There is no money in a cure, there is only money in the treatment.

Ah, but, if everyone suddenly has cancer, they can sell those machines and still make millions.

Just as the alternative energy car goes, so does the cure for cancer. There are many things that work, but they mysteriously "disappear" from mainstream society without a trace......(play X-Files music here).

Fuck Cancer.
If this offends anybody who has cancer, or is a doctor who treats cancer, or has known anybody who has had cancer, my deepest apologies.

Amazing then, how "they" sell a vaccine for several types of cervical cancer. I guess "they" didn't get the memo.

Very interesting piece and I think its pretty absurd to think that a cure will be hidden away so we can keep treating people. Whoever gets to the cure first will become rich beyond the dreams of any treatment, so the motivation should still be there.
They gloss over it in about 15 seconds at the end and point out that "dozens" of potential cures for cancer have gotten this far but once it got to testing in humans fell apart and didn't work. It sounds extremely promising and would be wonderful, but that 15 seconds of "we're not there yet" probably should speak pretty loudly.

Exactly. I'll become excited when there is a cure that shows it works in repeatable scientifically sound experiments.

Well....this is how I've always thought Cancer would be beaten. Perhaps not in this exact fashion but somehow find something to "attach" to just cancer cells and then somehow blow them up. Not saying this method will work in the end but I think this is much closer to being on the right track than the crap we do now.

What it Chris Rock who had the bit about humans not curing anything for like 100 years now?

This holds true in the US, fortunately some other countries aren't quite like that...

yeah. Nothing since polio, the money isn't in the cure, its in the medicine, etc.

Agreed with this. I always thought there might be a way to attach something to them to cause them to start undergoing apoptosis like they should have when they became damaged.

Well I personally think this has much more potential than the previous cases. If you even think of all the advancement in science we had in the past 20 years, it doesn't seem that far fetched that these are stepping stones in the right track to beating cancer. Also this could offshoot to other cures that aren't even being considered right now due to this machine.

"And some diseases we've just completely given up on. Like blindness. You go into a doctor's office and tell 'em you're blind, there ain't nothin' they can do for you. They'll give you a dog and send you on your way".

Smallpox? Impotence? Baldness?
Isn't it just vaccines/treatments we have for those?
You can buy a cream that has a 10% chance of growing your hair back, but you have to take it for the rest of your life. Same with Impotence.

Actually, they are beginning to restore sight to folks using computer chips to get data to the nerves.
The key is all the easy diseases have been solved.

Smartass.
I found the whole Rock bit, it was an SNL monologue:
"I think doctors make too much money. You know why? Because they don't cure anything! Everything they cured, they cured 50 years ago! They ain't cured nothing in a long time, man! Diseases are just piling up, man! You got cancer, and sickle cell.. Jerry's Kids still limping around. Come on, man! Get rid of something! Some diseases they just gave up on! They just said "The hell with it!" You know, like blindness. If you go blind, they don't got nothing for you! If you go to a doctor and tell him that you're blind, they say, "Hey, why don't you get this dog to drag your blind ass around?" What kind of cure is that?! Where's the medicine? Where's the science? "I'm blind! I can't see!" There's people that can see that can't handle a dog! Come on, give me a midget, or something! Hey!

Thank you.
I want there to be a cure for this, and a lot of other things, but don't think that money won't be one of the biggest reason why some thing will never get cured.
The electric company here is raising our rates +5% to offset their cost in building a solar energy field. After this is built will my power bill go down because their cost do?
