Thanks for this. This is always one of my favorite yearly reoccuring threads from (I don't remember whom used to post NFL TV Maps).. Good to see what I get to watch, but I also like looking at the maps and trying to figure out why a small chunk of some metro area gets some off the wall game vs the rest of the area. :)

Dallas @ Cleveland - everybody wants some.

Every year I see these maps and every year I wonder how the NFL got to be #1 with such a screwed up system for televising games.

Well, they're missing my FOX data, but looks like I'll be watching FOX, since CBS wants to shove Brett Favre down my throat. Does anyone think NYJ/MIA is actually going to be a decent game?

Do not understand the late FOX game. How can people living in Los Angeles not get either the San Francisco game or the San Diego game? Why would parts of California be stuck watching the Dallas vs Cleveland game while 2 California teams were currently playing?

BTW. Someone please tell me how I can live in an area that lets the people choose which games the local station carries every week? "TBA (to be determined by audience vote on station website)"

It's probably gonna be ugly. Gonna be tough to beat this first half from last year though:

I agree. When I heard that CBS is NE Wisconsin was going to be broadcasting 8 NYJ games I almost choked. Watching a decent game on CBS is what usually tides me over until the Packers play that day, but instead we have to watch the Jets most of the year. Yuck.

I, unknowingly, agreed to volunteer at an animal sanctuary next Sunday. So, from 11 am - 5 pm (not including the 1.5 hour drive each way), instead of reveling in the glory that is the first Sunday of the NFL, I will be doing any one or a combination of the following:

Clean barns, pens and paddocks
Repair barns and outbuildings
Install or repair fencing
Paint buildings
Build animal pens and housing
Trim animal hooves
Groom animals
Bale and stack hay
Mow and clean yards
Cut firewood

Well, I will record the Lions game and the glory of the 30 second skip means I will be able to watch it in like an hour.

Let's see, with the Falcons impending season of blackouts, I'm sure to get a healthy dose of the best offenses in the league, TB, CAR, TEN, MIA, with maybe the occasional NO or WAS thrown in there. Hooray!

I'm glad we get two local CBS affiliates, I won't have to choose between Jets-Dolphins at a bar instead of flipping between Jags-Titans or Falcons-Lions. Only the Jaguars game will be in HD though :(

Nah, zoom in. Its covered. There's be a lots of angry people wearing flannel if it wasn't.

Okay so that was kinda 90s.

So the Hog Haus is the only bar I can find that's open today... and 2 minutes before I walk in, a guy asked the bartender to put on the Saints game... WHICH HE CAN EFFING SEE ON FOX AT HOME!

But from what my dad said on the phone, Miami's playing like crap.

Still... I almost never get to see the Dolphins play and for CBS to pull that crap...

Why was the Jets/Dolphins a national game? I guess Brett Favre. I'd rather have had the Jags/Titans since both might make the playoffs whereas the Jets/Dolphins have a good chance of no team making the playoffs.

Thanks for the maps. Talk about being right on the edge. The "a" in Colorado is where I'm at and we got Dallas/Cleveland. Denver got the Bolts game. Wonder how they decide to give us the Cowboys (ugh) and not the Bolts, like Denver?

I have relatives who live in an area where they can potentially get three different games. They get Dallas, Shreveport, and Fort Smith CBS stations. They also get Shreveport and Dallas Fox Stations.

Kind of annoyed that Chargers/Broncos gets so much of the country (including where I am) instead of Pats/Jets being the main game.

I'm biased, but isn't Favre/Cassel a pretty interesting matchup? Would many neutral people really rather see Chargers/Broncos? I guess the Broncos just have a huge geographic fanbase around the Rockies.

Indy @ Minn and Pats @ Jets (look at how small that Mia/AZ game coverage is) are pretty good but then New Orleans at Washingon for Fox. Heck, none of the Fox games are that interesting- Chicago at Carolina is probably the only game with 2 decent chance playoff teams.

I'd actually rather see SD/Den, as both teams look like they could be contending and a matchup of two young, good QBs. But I get NE/NYJ. I'll probably end up watching ATL/TB anyways.

In the early slot on CBS, we get Indy and Minnesota, which made me wonder why that crappy game, then I saw the other 3 choices. Glad I'll be watching Carolina / Chicago instead which should be a good game. Then we get Jets / Pats, and I've been waiting to see BB get another crack at Favre...

The fanbase around the rockies makes sense, yeah. Also its the (presumed) two best teams in the AFC West playing each other getting on TV throughout the west, and the (presumed) two best teams in the AFC East(Sorry Buffalo) getting on TV throughout the East. This is one time where the TV choices actually make sense to me.
