This is fucking bullshit. Fuck not being invited to the NHL Draft. Why the in the hell do they think I have to buy my own ticket to the Draft? I am gonna' be picked god damnit. Oh well. I'll sit here with my family watching first round coverage on Versus like an asshole

"HEY MOM! I NEED ANOTHER DIP!"

Thank God for Skoal. My Stanley Cup outta' old tins is two layers deep, a tribute to my meticulous nature. I need to get laid or something, this sucks waiting

"Dad, I'm takin' a nap, wake me up if something happens"

Ugh. What the hell? Why is their a phone in my face?

"What the fu--"

"TYSON! BEHAVE! Your new boss is on the phone!"

My heart skips a beat. For a kid from Dallas, TX, you don't expect to ever be drafted in the NHL, but I'm defyin' those fucking odds.

"Hey Tyson, this is Cliff Fletcher with the Maple Leafs .. Welcome aboard!"

Toronto? ... TORONTO? ... Fuck, all I wanted was to hold that Cup over my head .. Some destination I am going to for that

"Pack your bags and come on up, Son, we have a contract for you to sign!"

NHL.com Scouting Report

D - Tyson Callahan
6'4, 224 lbs
19 y/o
Dallas, TX

Callahan, the Leafs first round pick in the 08 draft, is a vicious stay at home defensemen that reminds many scouts of a young Chris Pronger. He plays with heart and intensity, but he has to be kept in check as he easily loses his cool. Never afraid to drop his gloves, he will easily hit 150 PIM a season.

Strengths - Size, hitting, tenacity
Weakness - Skating, offensivley limited, temper

Expect Callahan to spend upwards of two seasons with the Marlies before reaching the Show. If he matures, and keeps his head on straight, he could be a great one, otherwise he still has a role as an enforcer.

First day of camp was excellent. Some fucking punk try out asshole tried making a name for himself by going after one of our guys so I challenged him to throw fists. Coach had to pull me off after I busted up his nose. Serves that asshole right.

"Tyson, can I see you?"

"Sure thing, Coach"

Christ, I hope he doesn't want me to apolgize

"Tyson, you were a first rounder for a reason, so here are some goals for the year. Check 'em out, and get back to me. They shouldn't be a problem to reach."

Goals? What the fuck is this a video game? Aw hell, it isn't bad. +14? Shit, count it. 252 hits? That's a weird fucking number. But I'll double it. 144 shots? I'll be like Andre Igodula plays BBall and jack shit up in the air. Wait .. they'll be happy if I add 25 points? Well prepare to be ecstatic cause I'm gonna blow that number outta the water!

"Oh kid, before you go, take this"

Aw yeah. Coaches tosses me a #53 Marlies Jersey and tells me I'm paid with Seifers to start the year. We're gonna fuck Portland up!

October 3rd vs Portland

Not a bad performance, though we lose 2-1 in a shootout. The stats show I scored my first career AHL goal on a breakaway no less, streaking out of the penalty box to make it 1-0, but we don't hold on.

8 hits, 3 takeaways and a block shot go along with the goal to give me a solid debut, but I expect better next time around.

I'll be reading since I don't own a next gen system and really want to play NHL 09 now.

Game 2: 3-0 Loss to Milwaukee

Some fucking bullshit tonight! The boys weren't ready to play so I took things in my own hands and dropped the mits three different fucking times. Won myself all three of 'em but Coach is pissed. Aw well, fuck it. I'm gonna' get this team playin' if it kills me.
