The one thing is that driving in any major racing series does take a lot out of your body and your mind. Driving 400-500 miles, 36 races a year, for 3 to 5hours a hour, plus all the practice and testing, at speeds that can peak to 180 mph, does require a certain strength and stamina. It might not be the same type of requirements that a NFL or MLB player might need, but you do need certain physical skills.

The Cup and F1 drivers work pretty hard to keep themselves in condition.

Am I a troll if I say that you have to be doped up to care about NASCAR in the first place?

I would need to have a lot of Xanax (sp?) and eye staples to even make it through a match/competition/race or whatever. I remember my grandpa Schmidt (awesome man) making me watch that crap. I got so bored I spent hours catching praying mantises and putting them in Ball jars. Then I tried to mate them. Unfortunately, when they mated, the chick mantis killed the male.

I only wish she could have killed NASCAR.
