Bill Ford Jr came out today at a weekly Economic Lunchon saying that he has no say whatsoever with the Lions but if he did he'd fire Millen.
The old man and the kid are in a pretty big war over Detroit, because the old man loves Millen, and the kid hates him.
Things are going to be mighty interesting now that he has finally come out and said something.

I heard a rumor last week about why "the old man" loves Millen so much.
Apparently, when Ford built Ford Field there were plans to have the office space in the stadium filled up and a number of related hotels built. Very little of the office space was ever leased and the hotels never materialized, so the Ford family took quite a hit on the whole thing. When this was going down, Millen came to "the old man" and told him that he'd defer his salary for a year or so because of all this. Ford thought that it was such an incredible gesture that he went out and gave Millen that long contract extension and pretty much refuses to can him.

I am not even joking when I say this:
When Ford Sr. dies, the streets of Detroit will erupt in celebration. It has gotten to that point. How sad is that?

About as sad as how big the celebration will be in Cincy when Mike Brown dies.

Oh, Roy Williams also came out and basically said Coletto sucks as an OC and he doesn't want to be here. Shocker.

Pretty much exactly what happened here in Chicago when Bill Wirtz died.

Millen working for free is actually still a bad deal for the Lions. I could understand if he was paying them, but...

And in Toronto when Harold Ballard croaked. And also after I murder Richard Peddie.

I'll be happy if the LOLions can figure out how to get Calvin Johnson the ball more than they did yesterday.
It would make some sense to try to trade Roy Williams during this season, especially if they can get a good pick for him.

Millen paying the Lions would even be a bad deal.
Actually, the Lions should just not pay him at all and pass the hat around the NFL North... I'm sure the rest of the division would be happy to pay to keep him around.

So is he blaming his dropped catches on the OC?
