I have about 12 hours of stock footage in DVD format that I'd love to put up on a server for usage between 20-30 computers on a network.
I envision copying each disc (ugh) onto the server in which users can then download the shots etc. they wish to use and save it to their hard drive, bypassing a DVD player (which we do not have on each machine). What's the best way to do this and how much would it cost to do so? I was thinking it might be cheaper to get server space instead of installing a bunch of DVD players on each computer.
Plus, I wont have to worry about wear and tear on the DVD's themselves.
Is this feasible? What sort of problems would I be likely to run into?
