Well, I have wondered before who this board would choose. Two Detroit City players with similar (not exact) styles on some of their songs.
Some of you won't like either of them and that is fine, but for the sake of this poll humor it and vote. Pretend all other music no longer exists and you must pick one of these to listen to. Who would you choose?
Me, I like all kinds of music including both of these guys. If I had to make this same choice I would DEFINITELY pick Kid Rock for two reasons. KR can actually sing as well as rap. Plus, KR has a deep love and appreciation for all kinds of music (including country) and I think that is important.

Agreed, watching him jam with Hank Williams was damn cool.

Don't you have to actually be from detroit to be a 'detroit player' ?
Kid Rock is from michigan, but not detroit --- and eminem is from like kansas.
Regardless, Kid Rock... as eminem gets repetitive after a while, I can only hear about him wanting to kill his mom and girlfriend for so long before it gets old.

I have not seen it, but I know he has jammed with George Jones as well and that is awesome.

They both claim Detroit, but I have not verified what school district they grew up in. ;)

Kid Rock, that one isn't even close.

All of the replies are people who chose KR, but there are more Eminem votes. Interesting that the Eminem guys just vote, but don't give reasons why.

I love them both... but Kid Rocks last album was no where near as good as his first. So i went with Eminem.

Good grief. I can't listen to either one of these guys.
Voting in this poll was like having to choose to sleep with either Dame Edna or RuPaul.
FWIW, I picked Kid Rock as the lesser of two evils.

So who would you sleep with SP??
Sorry, I can't vote in this poll. I would rather have no music than either of these two.

I really hadn't thought it through that far, Crappie.
And I really don't want to. :D
I, too, would choose no music over the two of these guys, but HM didn't give us that option.

I voted for the wrong one. :(

Kid Rock actually seems to have some talent to go along with the made for hype image. Plus as stated earlier, he seems to appreciate other styles of music.
Plus there are some degrees of coolness there. Kid Rock seems to have it, where Eminem has to create it by talking crap about others and acting like an ass all the time.
I can listen to some Kid Rock stuff, but not for a long period of time. Eminem I can't even take for the shortest amount of time without wanting to laugh hysterically at him.

Both have written songs about themselves...
Both have acted in movies this year...
Both use the f word in their songs...
Both claim to hail from the same city...
Both appear to be arrogant pricks...
So yeah, I guess you can argue they are very similar. However, if I had to chose (and I did) I'd go with Eminem. I loathe rap, but, for some reason, his music sounds a bit better - listenable. And Eminem is much more soulful in his lyrics. I'd dare Kid Rock to put out a song as touching, emotional and obviously personal as "Cleaning Out My Closet." Gotta respect a guy for putting it all out there.

Sorry, I can't vote for either. If they were the only two left in music, I'd just give up music and/or stab my ears until they bled out.

They both suck ass.
Edit: But I didn't see a place to vote for that.

As someone from the Detroit area, I can tell you that Em is the much more popular person in the Motor City right now. Kid Rock barely registers on the radar.

I cant stand kid rock. As far as rap goes i think Eminem is about as as good as it gets. He easily wins my vote.

I'll take Eminem, just because I am best friends with a guy that went to HS with Kid Rock. He sings about living in a trailer but his family was very wealthy.
Plus Eminem just says whats on his mind and he don't care if he pisses people off, something I wish I could do sometimes.

Battle of the two angry white boys, eh? :D
I pick Eminem because they're both shitty singers but Eminem could rap in circles around Kid Rock. :p

I would not agree that Kid Rock is a "shitty" singer. He doesn't sing often enough for me. Only God Knows Why and Pictures are both killer songs and he does a very good job singing them.
