Hi, just looking for some feedback and discussion on this issue. Im guessing, like me, many FOF players use at least some tools in addition to FOF2K7 program. Just looking to find out if you guys have better setups or some tips or whatnot.
I personally keep an excel sheet open next to my game, where i record my players ratings at PSWeek1 every year, to keep track of changes. It's really quite strange that FOF doesnt keep track of these changes, since they are easily one of the biggest parts in determining a succesfull franchise - you will have to weed out creepers and those players who drop dramatically. For me personally, an excel sheet is the only option, i would have no chance of noticing changes on a 53 roster without it.
The only other aid i keep is a pen & paper next to my keyboard, where i dot down injuries that require an deactivation, and his replacement. Just to keep track. When the injuree comes back, i check the list to see who i'll deactivate again.
Now, for some background: I personally try to always avoid learning any of the inner workings of the game. I would never want to know any exact correlations, f.ex. combine scores > ratings. The key to enjoyment for me is trying to treat it as real football. Granted, the way FOF logic sometimes works can make it pretty hard, but at least it keeps me challenged.
Im really on the bandwagon that the next version, should one be released, should focus on presentation & making things easier. FOF2K7 is a wonderful, wonderful game but the fact that you have to use outside aid's to keep track of your franchise is what keeps me from fully enjoying it.
So what do you guys use to help you play?
