Okay, maybe the FOFC collective knowledge base can find a better solution than I've managed so far this afternoon.
The task: Convert a simple Powerpoint slide presentation with narration into an .avi file
The limitations: I don't want/need to spend a dime on this, trying to accomplish it with freeware tools. I'm also working with PowerPoint 2003 & am not planning to update it for this (or anytime soon unless I hit the lottery).
The current solution: Kind of convoluted but I wasn't able to find a direct .ppt to .avi converter that was free & handled sound.
So far the best I've come up with that actually worked was iSpring Free to go from .ppt to .swf and then AnvSoft Flash to Video Converter to get from .swf to .avi
I thought sure I had a solution with Any Video Converter but one of the few formats it doesn't handle is .swf and that's been the only way so far I've been able to get the audio & video to both come out of .ppt relatively undistorted.
The reason I'm looking for a better solution is that I'm having problems getting clean audio out of the conversion from .swf to .avi, can't seem to get the audio to come through low enough to avoid shattering.
Anybody got a better suggestion (that doesn't involve me spending money I don't have for this)?
Thanks in advance.
