Flying SW sucks, but these are some really cheap flights.

I am looking at going to SF or Denver over MLK day for about $280 for two of us.

Flying SW sucks.....

I don't fly anything but Southwest unless I have absolutely no choice. Great customer service and prices. Plus I get about 8-10 free round-trip flights a year.

Yah, I've never had any complaints with SW

I agree, SW is the only thing I fly, cheapest flights, no bag fees, and great customer service.

Thanks for this. :) Going to check and see if I can make San Diego over winter break.

I always check Southwest when I'm shopping around for flights. However, if I'm flying from California to anywhere east of Denver, Southwest has always been significantly more expensive than the legacy carriers, and their schedules frequently requires multiple stops. They aren't even close to be competitive. They're by far the best option for flying between northern and southern California.

As other airlines have significantly reduced their "frills" or at least have begun charging for them, the "no frills" of SWA are much more attractive.

I have never had trouble with them, I just hate the way they do the seating. I also like Delta because they have the back of the seat entertainment screen and I am usualy going cross country.

Dude, just log in 24 hours ahead of time and you're guaranteed a good seat. It's awesome!

Since Virgin now flies to pretty much all the destinations I ever travel to, I haven't flown Southwest in about 2 years. Virgin is oftentimes cheaper, and the advantage in amenities is huge.

I miss having this:

It allowed me to simply walk up to the gate and get on any Southwest flight. It was awesome!

Shame I can't fly Southwest from Wisconsin.

Or, at least, from Northern Wisconsin.

I'm just glad it flies out of Milwaukee. Unfortunately, the people I usually visit and stay with in San Diego may be in Vegas the only time I can make it. I'll know tomorrow morning.

I'm 34 and have never flown anywhere. Does this make me odd?
