Possibly a silly question, but can I start a fictional game in say, the 30's? How would I go about doing that if possible.

I don't think you can without making a roster file.

Never tried it and my memory is a little fuzzy, but I think you can do it like this:
1. Load up players.csv
2. Delete all but one crappy player, and change his name if you want.
3. Save As another name.
4. Use the player file creater and the one-player csv to create an fdt. In the player file creater, I'm pretty sure you can specify the start year and start salary cap of your league.

Yes, you can do it that way, as Ben E. Lou said. My dynasty (my very slow dynasty) was started in 1920 with scrubs.

I just tried this, player file creator tells me that "1- player file was created" and then FOF crashes when I try to start the league. Shouldn't the fdt file created contain about 1800 players?

Thats strange. It works for me.

So I wanted to start a league around 1918 containing only a bunch of rubbish players.
I followed the directions above and get "1-player" fdt files which FOF won't load. Tried and retried on two separate computers. (Recently upgraded to 6.3a)
Is there a good hearted soul who wouldn't mind creating a 1918 player file, containing all scrubs and salary cap at its lowest, and then emailing it to me?
I'll PM the email address if there is a volunteer...
Thanks :)

I did this exact thing in this dynasty FOF: League of Ordinary Gentlemen - Front Office Football Central (http://operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=62407)
I don't think I gave any technical instructions there, but I might have.
I think I just made a player file with one player, born in the right year. Then I just started the game with that. The game automatically fills the rest of the rosters with rookie scrubs. That should be it. I don't think you have to create anything else than a file with that one player.

Tried it again, and it worked this time around. Thanks for the help!

That's great. Have fun. I don't get much time to play but I've been enjoying the very different dynamic of starting with a league of scrubs.
