I've got a bit of a plumbing emergency. My downstairs (sub-basement) has water backing up out of the pipe that goes way underground (it's a hole and has a smaller white pipe running in it). It seems that the washing machine draining (the floor directly above this pipe) causes it to flood. I've noticed the sub-basement shower/bathtub won't drain either now and the water that does come up is dirty (doesn't smell or look like waste but dirt instead).
Anyone have any clue what could be causing this? I was thinking a simple clog but the fact dirt is coming up makes me think it could be something much worse.
