So does anybody see anyting wrong with this picture (or for the more forgiving, do you see anything ironic with these headlines?)

The NFL doesn't care about DUI's, I am guessing?

This is from 2007, but the NFL DUI rate was 1 in 144 while the general public was 1 in 135. It just seems like a lot because of how closely we follow the NFL and how many players each team has.

Meh...I guess the timing could've been better here...

“We take these issues very seriously,” Redskins general manager Bruce Allen said in an e-mail. “Moving forward, we plan to meet with Byron and will continue to monitor the situation.”

Stallworth was recently released by the Cleveland Browns (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/cle/;_ylt=AgvIgvSkvWRIqXmoypOJWpIdsLYF) after being reinstated by the NFL following a one-year suspension. He was suspended for violating the league’s personal-conduct policy for a DUI vehicular manslaughter charge. Stallworth served 30 days in a Miami jail for striking and killing a Miami construction worker with his car while driving under the influence of alcohol. The Ravens announced the signing Wednesday. The deal is worth $900,000 with an additional $300,000 in incentives.

We've discussed the Stallworth situation heavily. He served his suspension, and unlike most immediately took responsibility for his actions, not even trying to use the excuse that the guy he ran over was being an idiot. I have no issues with how the Stallworth situation was handled, unlike most he was at least a man about it.

DUIs are all over the god damn place. My buddy is a Fairfax County (VA) cop and that's what he ends up spending most of his time dealing with.
