Fumbles run amok

Since the new patch, it's readily apparent the fumbles are run amok. I've had many many games with a huge number of fumbles, especially fumbles that set up the short game leading to the other team gaining a hell of an advantage with the short field and subsequent score, and I know fumbles are part of the game, but SIX fumbles in one game is bullcrap.

I know some people will say...but...it reflects the statistics of the NFL. Bull. I can't remember ever watching an NFL game where there were six fumbles by one team. I watch the Colts, not the Bengals.

So man, the fumbles have got to be patched...it's just wrong.

So man, the fumbles have got to be patched...it's just wrong.No, it's not wrong. Here are the fumbles per 100 touch numbers for several different leagues pre-patch and post-patch.

CCFL
2009 (fully on 6.3): 2.68
2010 (part 6.3/part 6.4): 2.55
2011 (all 6.4): 2.51

IHOF
Fumbles per 100 touches went from 2.40 to 2.44

WOOF
Fumbles per 100 touches went from 2.61 to 2.49


It's pretty clear that the fumble rate was either completely untouched in this patch, or was changed in such a minor way as to be inconsequential. There's absolutely no reason to believe that fumbles need to be patched.

And as for your "SIX fumbles in one game is bullcrap", well, it appears that there have been three instances in fairly recent times of a single *PLAYER* fumbling six times in one game.

i havnt seen as many fumbles. maybe you have fumblers on your team or are going thru a rough patch. i remember in the past where my teams get a case of fumblities and it takes a while to get out of it.

Thanks, any secret formula or hints to unmasking it? Only ask as my punt returner always seems to cough up the ball at the worst time.

My guess would be that if you see a player(specifically a RB) who is on offense, who has average to good looking ratings, but is overall rated lower than you'd expect, he might have a bad fumbles rating. But even that is really hard to tell sometimes. Same way with QB's for avoid interceptions rating.
