I got this game a few weeks ago and im about as good now as I was back then. I just dont know any good strategies on how to make my teams better, it always seems like im going 5-11 or something like that, when most of my players are 50-60's. any help on what you guys do to play this game would be greatly appreciated, I would like to get better at this game.

Are you doing the game planning or using recommended game plans?

Do your coaches suck?

Do you have a lot of personality conflicts?

Is your cohesion bad?

Who is your QB?

Some do, some don't. Been playing MP since '07 and I royally suck.

Never played this before but I am not doing too badly albeit with a strong team in the 49ers.

Two seasons done. Two appearances in the superbowl and naturally two losses. One to the Bills which must be a bug. ;)

Pre-season in my 3rd season however, has started with a 42-13 loss at the Colts! :(

Make that a shocking pre-season.

I'm not sure what is important in a coach, but I've heard scouting is the best thing.

I only have 1-2 personal conflicts

I'm not sure about cohesion I'll have to check that

That's another thing, I'm always drafting busts at the QB position.

I'm 10 years (game time) into an mp run, and my best record has been 10-6, I've gone 9-7 twice and everything else has been a losing record.

Just to prove that pre-season means nothing.

SUPERBOWL 2016

49ers 19 Browns 17

Having busts at QB is a huge setback to a team.. That might be your main issue.

Make that a shocking pre-season.

Played 4 Lost 4I'm usually more worried when my team goes undefeated in the pre-season.
There's no logic in worrying after wins, but it feels like a jinx. :D

So I looked up my team cohesion and everything is good to very good.

I have played this game in all its versions and I am successful. I have even had undefeated seasons. THE most important piece to acquire is a stud QB. You may have to wait a few seasons until one becomes available in the draft but when he is...grab HIM! While you wait for him to appear, grab some quality WR's and a good O-Line. Those guys you can pick up in free agency. Your defense still has to be good, but doesn't have to be great. CB, MLB, and a really good pass rusher are what to focus. You have to get that QB though. Just like the NFL its a QB's game.

Problem is in most leagues you have to REALLY suck to get a chance at one the stud QB's by being in the top of the draft order. Or trade away a ton of picks to move up. When you end up being an average GM with an average QB maintaining an average record you never get there. Most MP leagues I have seen, not all mind you, it seems to be the team with the stud that is almost always playoff bound.

At that point it seems to become a long term journey to gather the right FA's with the right cohesive abilities and chase it from that angle.

Now, this IMO and I have no doubt those that are students of the game have much different perspectives.

Haha! Well, I mean, you'll get exposed to a lot of knowledge about how the game works and so on. Results not guaranteed :p
