Summer League(camp)?

I was reading the player guide that I think is actually for FOF 2k7, and it mentions being able to send one rookie, or 2nd year guy to a summer league where he might improve. It talks about the button "summer" only appears before the first round of free agency, and I cant find anyone with it. Does this still exist?.
2nd--Also I was hoping someone might know of a good breakdown section on what the different play calls and formation combo's might be effective or weak against...I really enjoy playing the game in the play call mode but could maybe use some help with what is effective at stopping what.

I don't think it's a thing of the past. I've seen in their "history" collum on the bottom right, the one that shows injuries, FA signs, and stuff like that, and I've seen "Went to Summer League" before. I questioned it but just went along playing thinking it was just something simmed. If I can get a screenshot of it, I will.
