Have been loving the game since I bought it a few days ago. I'm a long-time Football Manager fan and was very excited to stumble upon this game in Steam.

I'm a Detroit fan and some serious changes have happened to the team recently, so I wanted to edit the roster and try a season.
The steps I went through are described below, but the end result is that when I import the .fdt file into FOF7, my team is blank and all other teams are filled with fictional players.

1-I locate the players.csv file from the FOF7/datafile folder and drag it to Desktop
2-Edit it in Excel and save it as the same name on my Desktop. The two changes I made were "Reggie" Bush to "Richie" Bush and gave him a V column rating of 8, just to test it out...(I tried numerous other edits at different times to troubleshoot, but these simple ones produced the same result).
3-Open the PlayerFile app in FOF7 folder
4-Set the start season to 2014 and cap to 1,230
5-Import the players.csv file from the Desktop
6-Save the file as players.fdt (and tried other name variations) on the Desktop (also tried saving to other locations)
7-Open FOF7 and Start New Game
8-Highlight Yes on "begin new game with alternate player file" and choose the players.fdt file that I placed on Desktop

It takes longer for the computer to generate this league (7 seconds, instead of 3) than if I use the default file.
When it is created, I click on my team's roster and it is always blank. All other teams are populated with fictional players.

I read the forum and thought I was doing everything correctly, but obviously I'm missing something.
Can anyone offer a suggestion or solution?

Thank you.

The problem was in the fact I use a Mac and had to move the players.cv file from the PC side to the Mac side, then back and perform the process I described above.
By doing all the editing on the PC side, everything was solved.

i do edits in mac and it works. you have to save your csv as "CSV (windows)" in excel.
