View Full Version : Should I mots?

Okay for the next two weeks I play the number 1 guy. First game is away. I dont think I can beat him playing normally. I might be able to get a draw going MOTS though. Would it be a good idea to mots? If so should I MOTS the away game, or the second game at home? I play the team that forced a draw last week after these two matches so I may have problems playing MOTS.
Also my 17yo passable defender is out for three weeks, I may have to bring in some outside players...

Just thinking out loud, without looking at either team...
If you can't win normally, and you MOTS the first away, your team spirit will be shot for the home game. If you think you might draw with the MOTS, I'm guessing home field won't be enough to get you a win or a draw in game two, so you end up 0-1-1 against him, with only 1 point. And that's not a GoodThing [TM]. However, if you play the first one straight, and most likely lose, your team spirit is still fine, and then you can even consider MOTS-ing the second game, practically guaranteeing a win (if my assessment of the approximate level of your two teams is correct). I think the real question is who your opponent is afterwards, whether or not you will be able to PIC to restore your team spirit after the second game.
In my opinion, if your best bet is a tie with a MOTS, don't do it.
Go normal for the first game so that you can see how you compare. If you came REALLY clse to winning or tied, MOTS the second game.
If you get blown out of the water the first game, there is no sense in MOTS the second game because all you'll be doing is killing your team spirit and still having no shot at winning.

that sounds like a good idea. If I remember correctly home field can be a decided factor. Teams I should have beaten I have lost too on the road, and vice-versa

I agree with Vince. I MOTS'ed the # 1 team in my series on the road and lost, then wasted 90k getting a new coach so my TS wasn't shot as I've been playing the better teams since my first game (week 2). This week I played normal and pulled an upset against the # 2 team on the road. Maybe I'm just bitter because I should have had better stats in my MOTS game and I actually led before giving up 2 goals in 3 minutes. In any case, good luck.

Airhog, I don't think you should at all. CRiSPy is goooooooooood. He could get NSIs in the low to mid 60s on a normal. His team is just loaded. I really think that if you MOTS him, you very well may still lose and then your TS would be shot for a game you have a much better shot at winning against HelterSkelter. JMO

I'm facing the same thing, air, and am not sure what to do... I'm averaging about 24*/game lately, and Etobicoke, by far the #1 team in my series, is at around 31. Should I PIC? My team spirit is composed...
