View Full Version : Better to get 4th or 5/6th?

I vaguely remember reading somewhere on here that it's actually better to come in 5th or 6th than 4th. If I recall, the person posting said that a qualification game meant extra training and an extra home date whereas 4th place just meant the extra 19K prize money. Is that accurate?

I ask because I'm currently back in 4th after 5 weeks in 6th. I can't climb much higher but am still in the meat of a rough stretch where I've played # 1 (L), # 7 (W), # 2 (W) before I go play # 3 back to back, then 2-7-1 again. 6 out of 8 with minimal PIC chances against the top 3 isn't fair for a newbie :)

I'm just wondering if I should root for wins or mediocrity. Any extra training would be beneficial as I'm just getting my program started and want to know how to maximize my team this season. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

If you lose though...

I was the one who brought that up initially - if you have the starting stadium you make $16k (half-split for qualifiers) for the match, plus training, vs $19k for 4th place. More if you upgrade the stadium, of course. (I'm guessing that a qualifier tends to sell out - haven't done research on that yet...)

There'll probably less than 30 or 40 1st place human teams advancing out of D.VI. this year, out of 1024 possibles. So, your overall chances are 96 or 97% of facing a bot team.

If you can't beat a bot team, maybe you need a season in D.VI. to toughen up... Especially considering you can MOTS them without consequence. :)
