View Full Version : Not-quite-a-noob, but still a hattrick idiot question...

Ok... so, with much help from all my new Hattrick brothers here at FOFC, my team has improved greatly over the last several weeks, winning a few league games, and giving me hope that I won't be automatically demoted this season.

That said, I have a training type question. I've been training stamina now for probably about 3-4 weeks (too much?). Anyhow, I decided to switch to training defense for a while, now that most of my guys have a good set of lungs.

For yesterday's friendly, I thought I'd try to get everyone in on the training by running a 10-0-0 formation. Good? Bad? Stupid? Effective? Hilarious? I dunno... you tell me. I'll switch back to my 3-5-2 for the league game this week.

Also... will my stamina remain where it's at for these guys, or will I have to go back and train for it again every so often? Will anything but "general" help improve my form?

Much appreciated!

You will receive no training for the guys that played in the 10-0-0 formation. Basically the way it works is that, in any given game, you cannot train more than 5 defenders, 5 midfielders (3 inner mids and 2 wingers at half training), or 3 strikers. Anything aside from the 7 "standard" formations (4-4-2, 5-4-1, 5-3-2, 4-5-1, 3-5-2, 4-3-3, 3-4-3) and the 2-5-3 will not get you any training.

Don't take it wrong, but my answer is "stoooooopid"!!! Sorry, but I think you've just ruined your training for the whole week with an illegal formation. You can't have more than one extra player at any position (no more than 3 central def, or 3 inner mids, or 3 forwards)...

Stamina gained is there until the player ages so much he will start losing skill, but at that point, he will have started losing pretty much all of his skill...

Form can be increased by a very high training level, but I don't know to what point.

IMHO, training stamina for more than 2 weeks in a row is asking for trouble.

Best of luck.

DK, are you sure he will lose training only for the players in that 10-0-0 game and not for all the players in the week? I always thought you'd lose your training for all of your players...

All training this week will be lost with a 10-0-0!!!!! Bad boy! Don't do it again! SMACK!

For better form:
1) Train general -- some argue its mostly a waste
2) Raise your training intensity -- injuries will be more frequent if you do
3) Hire more assistant coaches --do NOT exceed 10 total (GK + assistant coaches)

You may or may not want to do any of the above depending on your situation.

Ok... so, color me stupid. :)

Thanks for the feedback... I'll stick to more convential means of training from now on...

I'm not too upset about losing a week of training... I spent my first four weeks in a row doing NOTHING right...

I don't know if its all players, or just the ones involved in that game. Never felt the need to find out. :)

Heh. I've done that (the losing training for a week part, not the playing 10 defenders part). No biggies.

I definitely think it's a good idea to get your stamina in line, however. I think you will start to see some late game improvements. Good luck! :)
