I know last week we talked about the $140,000 keeper popping, shouldn't my guy pop VERY soon?

I don't train Keepers though, and I'm not changing my training schedule. So, what should I list him for? 50K?

Are you playing him in a match this week? If you are, and then selling him after the game I would buy him for 50k.

vex, I'd start him at 25 or 30k and let people get excited about him. Keeper trainer will spot him and he could easily go all the way to 60-70k. Good luck.

Yes, he will be playing against the Morrisvillians in the FOFC Cup on Wednesday. Afterwards, I will start the bidding at 50K.

Note, I will be waiting until Thursday night to start the bidding.

You will probably get more if he sells between that Cup Match and the training update on Thursday night. (3:30 AM HT-Time Friday) because that way the new owner wouldn't have to even play him in a match and he would bump. If I still have money before the update, I'd be willing to buy him for 50k or so, but if it were after the training update I would only be willing to go up to 35k or so. This is because I would lose a spot next week. Hope this makes sense.

I've got a similar situation and I'm attempting to sell him. Just pulled him, and it looks like he'll pop by the end of next week if being trained.

He'll be playing my FOFC cup game this week if anyone's interested in buying.

My thinking is that if he plays, he might just pop. Which is why I'm playing him.

FrogMan

well he won't pop unless you are training keeper and you've already stated you didn't want to change your training. He won't pop right after the game, and if he's still on your team when training happens and you are training playmaking (or whatever else you are training) he won't pop either, this is the reason why you want his sale to happen before the weekly update...

Then, if you are willing to train keeper for a week, that is a whole other matter, as you could very well see him pop, then start him at 100k and hope for the best...

I wouldn't think so. I was looking at another 17 year old that was lower (130 or some such) and he went for more than that.

Congratulations, though. :)

cthomer - Since he is 17 you should have no problem selling him at that price.

Vex - In addition to training keeper, there is a slight chance he will pop if you train general. Anything else though and nothing will happen.

Frogman - I've sold 6 passable goalies, and only 1 has gone for 100k+. Respectively, they've sold for 120, 97, 90, 81, 75, and 73 thousand. I see them go for 120, 130 often in Sweden and other European markets, but it doesn't work out that way in the US (or Canada.) Still worth a shot to list him there, but don't count on it.

really? have I totally undervalued him? I would think with his disastrous stamina, that would dampen his value (somewhat). Are keeper trainers that astute that they'll catch the fact that my guy has played this week before the sale ends?

You do know that stamina has absolutely no effect on a keeper's performance whatsoever, right? If not, then now you know ;) If you don't believe me, ask TP6 :)

I'll have to admit I didn't know that. I figured it would have some effect, but not a major one. Hey, you learn something new every day!

You are right, I might have gotten mixed up between currencies ($1 US = $2 CDN)

Also, I have sold three passable keepers myself and got 64, 74, and 102. I usually start them at 62k (all these figures in US$)... Maybe high passables, real close to solid, have a better chance of selling for higher...

Ya, you undervalued him a little bit with your expectation. It shouldn't hurt as bidding should drive the price up closer to market. The important part is the 17 year old part. It's probably not inconceivable for him to pop solid by seasons' end.

But, hey, the extra money that you weren't expecting will just be a nice bonus. :)

I've already got a bid on my guy @ 50,000! (finishes thursday afternoon). I want to thank everyone for this thread, I probably wouldn't have thought to sell my pull had it not been for it.

my guy just sold for 85K! Those are US dollars of course.

Now I can use that cash somewhere I really need it!

Alright! Finally got someone to bid on Jasper for $50K. A team from Sverige that is #1 in their V.II series.

I don't know. I haven't had any trouble selling passables for 100k. Actually, every one I've listed for 100k has sold. Twice, the bidding went higher than 140k. The only time I had one not sell was when I started him at 120k. He later sold for 148k though when I relisted him at 100k. Like anything else, one of the main keys is to have the auction end at a good time.
