I was just wondering if any one has ever sold there whole team and started completely over using the transfer wire?

My situation is that I am in a division(5) where 1st place is already locked up. If I stay where I am ill win 2nd or 3rd with out any trouble and the 4th through 8th place teams are down right bad!

I have spent half the season and allot of money building a 2nd place team through some bad transfer moves. All my guys have solid skills at the position they play but no secondary skills..not to mention they are late 20's early 30's in age. This team might be good enough to be a second place Div 5 team, but my future looks like crap.

I am thinking about putting the whole team on the transfer market and price them all to move. My team is worth 1.5 million so I dont know what that amounts to on the transfer market. And with that money I am going to buy a whole new team spending allot of time, patience and be very selective about who I buy and take in account age and secondary skills.

Any one every try this before? Just looking for some input before I pull the trigger on blowing up my whole team.

And your interested, here is the team that might be up for sale.

One more thing. If I do take this on, would it be wise to train general at 100% before I list the guys, that way their form is up and they look better on the transfer market??

Blowing up the team to rebuild through the transfer wire sounds like a bad idea. If I were in your shoes I'd blow up the team and try to start from scratch. I don't know how that works, but doing it the way you said I'd think you'd end up screwing up your TS and supporter happiness in the short run. You wouldn't be able to get much for the 30-somethings, but you have some players who could bring in some decent $$$ if you decide to go through with it.

I dunno why you'd sell your whole team... why not just sell one area of your team, and buy youth in that area? Then train that youthful area? So you may take a skill hit to begin with, but it will pay off in the long run.

There has been teams to do that, but I just don't see why you would.

Jet80, I'm going to have to diagnose you with BobHempitis. I've seen this happen alot,b ut have never done it myself. However, from what I have seen, it is almost impossible to get a team that is as good as the one you sold. It just doesn't work out very well.

I'm with lytic on this. Why sell off your whole team? You are getting some pretty good game ratings (just checked, 55 for last week, 58 two weeks before that), why would you want to blow that? Need a new challenge? If you think you got a team that's only good enough for 2nd place, well you can blow it up and get ready to build a team good enough for 4th place, always on the brink of relegation matches...

I have not looked at your team (too many players to analyze gives me a headache :) ) but I would guess that trying to start from scratch by selling all of your players would only give you a worst team, not a better one. That is without even thinking that the price of players has already started to drop on the markets with the beginning of the second half of the season...

Good luck anyway!

Don't you dare do this. If you want some instant money, decide what you are going to train and sell the 17-18 year olds at the positions you aren't going to train. Then, buy 24-27 year old players for cheaper.

For instance, unless your are training Keeper, put that passable 18 yo Keeper on the transfer wire.

Ditto what all the others said. I'm by no means a Hattrick expert, but it seems to me like you've got more than enough good players to build a solid team around.

However, I'd definitely recommend that you sell Håkan Persson. The fact that you had bought him from me, and the fact that I could use some mother club money, has nothing to do with this recommendation.

Nothing at all. :)

I really wanted to do this at first: basically, the empty cupboard experiment. Unfortunately, by the time I knew enough, I had too good of a team to do it. I think you're in the same boat: sure, it sounds like a good idea, but you'll have wasted the time and effort you spent getting your team there.

Didnt Qwikshot "retire" his first team, and just start over? He's doing pretty well, now that he has a newbie team, but is a halfway experienced player. That's a better idea that selling your whole team IMO.

Your team is stacked compared to the defunct Qwakers...selling off your players and buying new players just seems very difficult to do...I got lucky with my new team...
