Just wondering how everybody uses MOTS and PIC. What effect do they have? How many times per season can they be used? What are the potential problems?
I've used MOTS twice this year. In a cup game against a much more skilled opponent, I used it and got throttled 8-1. In a recent league game, I used it and won 4-0. I have yet to use PIC.

When I was looking for a coach I used MOTS every week because I knew I was just going to fire the coach after the league game.
I've used PIC in friendlies where I request the other team to do it also. If both teams PIC I find that injuries and cards are a lot less likely.
I've been told PIC/MOTS doesn't have any affect in friendlies.
When my team spirit is low I PIC my league game if I am sure I can win. My understanding is it will help raise that (which it has everytime I've done it). I haven't used MOTS yet, but plan to in 2 weeks when I play the second place team in my series who have been improving weekly and starting to threaten my #1 standing.

I PIC any game I know I will win. This season my only MOTS will probabaly be the last game of the season. If you PIC enough your team spirit should be good enough to make it so you get a good midfield ratring without having to MOTS. And PIC/ MOTS doesn't do anything in friendlies.

PIC will raise your team spirit two levels, but it should come down one before you next game.
MOTS cuts your team spirit in half (rounded down). Put a numerical value falue to your team spirit, divide by two, then round down, that's where you'll be after a MOTS.
You can MOTS or PIC as often as you want, but they will only effect your teams spirit when used in competition games (league or cup games). Bee, you've been told right, MOTS/PIC has no effect of friendlies...

Thanks for the info FrogMan. I was puzzled to see my team spirit downgraded to furious after the recent 4-0 win. Now I know why.

Frankly reading the stuff around here about MOTS and PIC, I've come to the following conclusions about the HTers at FOFC:
1)MOTS is overused
2)PIC is severly underused
If early in the year, you can find 5-6 matches to PIC (early cup games?) then you can spend the rest of the year with such high team spirit, it would be as if you MOTS every week, except there would be no negative effects.

Agreed and I started seeing it that way when I heard that TargetPractice6 is MOTSing his 4 or 5 games of the season, no matter what...

I don't know that PIC is severly underused. There seem to be quite a few people who PIC almost every week. That isn't to say that I don't agree that it is underused though. Secondly Your team spirit won't stay all that high the entire season from some PIC's at the start of the season. I will say that by I used PIC frequently in early league and cup matches to get my TS very high for my last couple cup matches.

I PIC in games I know I'll win, and MOTS in the hard games. I think I'll MOTS 4-5 games this year, Normal about 1-2 and PIC the other 8.
I was definitely underusing PIC when I first started. I didn't understand the value of it and I also wasn't sure of my team's value compared to others in my series. Now I have a better understanding I've been using PIC almost every week.

I never thought about PIC'ing it for the majority of my games...but then again, there are very few games I feel 100% confident (me, not my TS) that I can win. I MOTS only if it's a big match, and quite often PIC the game after the MOTS to re-equilibrate my TS...Maybe I should consider PIC'ing it more often?
How do you guys judge a game "you know you'll win"? In my division (v.237) I know I'd probably beat the lowest 2 teams, but with most of the rest of the division, it's semmingly a crapshoot....
thoughts?????????
Thanks :)

You just kind of have to get a feel for your series mates. If you are having trouble check their typical ratings out on hatstats and compare them to yours.
