View Full Version : Under $200k debt!! :)

This week I sold a passable keeper for $86k which will pull me to $199k in the hole. :)

I making a pact to myself to never let my team fall under that line again, hopefully. In order to do that, I have to come up with a plan to avoid debt. I like Qwikshot's plan never to buy prospects unless they under $5k until I can get back afloat. Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Here is my finances:

Economy

Cash funds: -262 641 US$ (-199 395) US$
Sponsors: satisfied
Supporter Club: 561 members
Supporters: content

Revenue Expenses

Crowd 35 062 Arena 10 310
Sponsors 30 000 Wages 16 614
Financial 3 000 Interest 13 132
Temporary 79 240 Temporary 3 000
Staff 21 000
Youth squad 20 000

Total revenue 147 302 Total expenses 84 056

Expected income/loss 63 246

Next week I dont have a home game, so I cant count on a crowd reveune.

I am training defending and here is my troops right now that I am regulary training.

Gabriel Dorsey
60 000 US$, 21 years, solid form
Has wretched experience and weak leadership abilities

Stamina: poor Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: inadequate Passing: poor

Scoring: wretched Set Pieces: disastrous

José Luis Larragoiti

Stamina: passable Keeper: disastrous

Goran Stankovic
47 000 US$, 19 years, passable form

Stamina: weak Keeper: disastrous

Stefan Silverman

I would like to keep them around but this is where my money is if I decide I have to sell. Dorsey has some value and is not really a long term product, but he does put up 3 stars a game.

Any suggestions?

If you don't have a real chance to win your series this season it might be a good idea to sell Dorsey (You could probably get around $125k for him), and then buy a 17 year old Passable defender (probably cost you around $30k) that will give you a good long term prospect who by the start of next season will be putting up 2.5* and 3 stars by early-mid season next year. Also, I would do the same with Larragoiti when he pops to Solid. A question- how many weeks of training does Dorsey have? If it is more than 3 it might be worth it to keep him and sell him at excellent although that is up to you.

I don't really have any suggestions that will amount to much, but could you tell me how many spokespeople you have?

I thinks he has right at 2 or 3 weeks of training. I would like to keep this group around, but we will see. Stankovic and Silverman should be good wingbacks one day.

I dont have a chance to win my series, but I do have a chance to finish 3rd.

I am hoping Larragoitti will pop to solid this week.

I have the best D in the league (Aes may argue that) and I have a pretty easy schedule left.

Just 1.

Is that all you have had all season long? I'm just asking because I see you have a fairly huge stadium that never sells out and low sponsor revenue. Extra spokespeople will keep your sponsors and supporters happy and thereby make you more money. Those stadium fees are a huge drain and your staff salaries seem kind of high considering you would have lost money the week of a homegame without a player sale.

I do have a pretty big stadium for the size of my club. I expanded when things were going well, but they came apart in a hurry. We lost a game to the best team in the league and then lost to a D2 team in the cup. I havent had much supporters since.

Here is my staff breakdown:

Goaltending Coaches: 0
Assistant Coaches: 8
Sport Psychologists: 0
Spokepersons: 1
Economists: 2
Physiotherapists: 2
Doctors: 1

Suggestions?

Just a quick look at the transer market

In the USA, I see one 21 year solid defender being sold for at least $185k.

That is really it as far as solid defenders go. All the rest seem to be way overpriced or good other secondary skills.

Just an opinion here but I'd consider having 1-2 keepers coach to keep your goalkeeper in form.

If you are gonna stay above -200k you can dump the economists, they aren't worth their salaries at this point. The other staffing choices are up to you. I'm keeping my staff at about half yours until my team makes enough money off of sponsors and attendance to justify adding more.

I tend to keep 5 spokespersons around as it helps bring in 2 sets of 12ish new supporters per week.

The 24 points in 9 games played and 3 wins in a row probably doesn't hurt. :)

I have 2 spokepersons, and I generate 49k in sponsor income. It also goes up a little every week.

Don't wanna threadjack, but:

This week my total income is:
256 270

Expenses:
220 058

I was able to upgrade my stadium, and make a 30k profit in the same week! I'm so happy. :D :D :D

My sponsors are at delirious right now. Should be high on life, damn fickle people. Only lost 1 game this season. ;)

Wow, illini, they are unkind in Spring Grove.

Aes, I think we both put up about the same defensive ratings for the most part. LA also has a good defense, but they are so old.

I made $2,000 off the friendly today (thanks Masked). I think I am going to hire to new spokes people.

The transfer market can be evil. However, I need a full set of defensive trainees.

To quote Doc Holliday, "I'll be your Huckleberry", I have like 6 defensive trainees being trained as we speak.

I have a 19 year old passable defender, he will go to market if any gems pop this week.

I have six slots open if i sell off my two top defenders. The other kids I have been working there suck and I will probably fire them.
