I was intrigues with the prospects topic, and I'd like to know who your best player is. Obviously, it may be hard for some of you out there, me included, but please try and pick one player. Give a reason or ten why as well.

My guy? It's fairly obvious, though I hate to leave out Waldo and Dave. It's Jerome Bettis.

#1 Jerome Bettis
301 000 US$, 22 years, passable form
Has weak experience and inadequate leadership abilities [Unpredictable]

Stamina: excellent Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: passable Passing: weak
Winger: poor Defending: inadequate
Scoring: excellent Set Pieces: poor

Jerome is my boy. One of the earliest purchases for the team, and what a deal. I bought Jerome for 30k, and he was valued at 81k. He's now an excellent scorer and passable playmaker.

He led D5.92 in scoring in season 17 and nearly led season 16 in scoring despite just four games.

In December last year, I pulled Stanley Dorsey. Stan was a solid scorer and solid winger, and forced Jerome to the midfield. Jerome was at the time just a passable scorer and passable midfielder. I trained Jerome in scoring during friendlies, and when he popped to solid in scoring, I sold Stan.

I plan to keep Jerome till he's old and gray. Maybe he'll someday be the coach of the Raiders!

I'll be back in 2 seasons to boast about my best player. Right now isn't a good time. :D

# 10 Jamey Judd (10871081)
25 years, passable form, healthy

A controversial person who is balanced and upright.
Has weak experience and wretched leadership abilities.

Speciality: Quick
Assessed value: 212 000 US$

Stamina: solid Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: passable Passing: passable
Winger: solid Defending: weak
Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: inadequate

Jamey is one of just 3 original Marauders remaining on the squad and the only guy on my team ever to put up more than 2.5*. In passable form he can put up 3 as an Offensive Winger, and can reach 3.5* at solid form, though that only lasted a week. I'm sure he'll remain on the team for at least a few more seasons (until I start training PM) before I try to sell him.

My best player is my keeper. My best youth pull a solid keeper worth about 375, he is 18 years old, and has rose to 405k. I would never sell him, and he will be with my team till he gets old.

Has wretched experience and poor leadership abilities [Head]

Stamina: excellent Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: solid Passing: passable
Winger: solid Defending: weak

I bought him 2 weeks ago for an @ssload of cash(which i had made from selling an excellent/Defender)

He popped to solid playmaking just this past week.He Also had poor form when i bought him so his form is steadily getting better even though i train playmaking.

My only dilema is...do i play him on wing?..or as a middie?

Has wretched experience and weak leadership abilities

Stamina: solid Keeper: wretched
Playmaking: excellent Passing: inadequate

He's only been with my team for a month and a half, but in that time he's popped to excellent playmaking and has risen to become my best midfielder.

I have 4 best players who are pretty much equally valuable: Tim Kimber, my goalie is solid and borderline excellent, hanging around at just under $500K in value. He puts up *** in average games and ***~ in high form. Mick Starks is invaluable as a winger in that he boosts my tack a couple of levels on the side that he is on. Lastly, I have a pair of ***~ middies: Carlos Alberto Benito (offensive) has excellent stamina with solid PM and solid passing and Stephen Connors has solid stamina, excellent PM, and passable set pieces. All except Kimber started with the team and have been training since the beginning.

My highest skill player as he is the only excellent I have, but I also have TWO solid wingers with passable passing who are a close second.

he'll be much better once his form turns around. My other forward(passable/passable) is the guy who's been scoring loads of goals as of late though

#5 Arlen Lucas

Position: Wingback

21 years old, solid form, healthy.

A sympathetic guy who is temperamental and honest.
Has wretched experience and inadequate leadership abilities.

Specialty: Head

Nationality: American
Assessed Value: $329,000
Wage: $1,580 per week

Stamina: Solid
Playmaking: Poor
Winger: Passable
Scoring: Poor
Goaltending: Disastrous
Passing: Wretched
Defending: Formidable
Set Pieces: Poor

Arlen has become one of the premier wingbacks in Series IV.49, and has a very bright future ahead of him. He consistently puts up **** in matches, and his head specialty is a definite plus on defense. I can only recall giving up one header goal to an opposing team when Arlen was on the pitch.

He was purchased shortly after the team was formed in August of 2002, for $74,000 from Knightz of Lord. At the time he was a passable winger/passable defender, and has been trained as a defender ever since. He has superb base-form, and the lowest his form has been is passable (for a total of 3 weeks) since the start of 2003. Arlen's only down-side is his penchant for getting carded, and he has served three suspensions in his 2 1/2 seasons with the club.

Not counting any of my trainiees that I posted in the other thread; this guy would probably have to be my best.

Jeffrey Quigley (3598331)
25 years, solid form, healthy

A controversial person who is tranquil and honest.
Has weak experience and inadequate leadership abilities.

Speciality: Unpredictable

Nationality: USA
Assessed value: 115 000 US$
Wage: 1 200 US$/week
Owner: Louisiana Cyclones

Stamina: excellent Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: passable Passing: weak
Winger: inadequate Defending: weak
Scoring: inadequate Set Pieces: inadequate

I might have someone on my team who is a better player; but this guy is just one of my favorites. Quigley is a very cool last name; and he has been a consistant 2.5 star IM since I bought him way way back right after I got my team. It was a close race between him and Ishudi 'Old Man' Kumar my 32 year old IM who I bought for only $3k and he has put up 2.5 stars every game, and has scored 7 goals this season (that leads my team, damn 4-5-1 and its anti-goal scoring ways)

328 000 US$, 25 years, solid form
Has weak experience and wretched leadership abilities

Stamina: solid Keeper: wretched
Playmaking: solid Passing: poor
Winger: disastrous Defending: inadequate
Scoring: solid Set Pieces: solid

The glue of my team, this guy is one of the middies in my 4-5-1. He rarely scores a goal, but turns in 3 star matches with regularity. May be popping to exellent in Playmaking in the next week or 2, which would be wonderful considering his age. His value has jumped $50,000 in the past couple weeks, while form has stayed the same.

Keepers are usually the highest valued players on a team, so im going to post an outfielder than a keeper. Besides, hes my favorite player anyway.

David Dewitt
132 000 US$, 23 years, inadequate form
Has wretched experience and inadequate leadership abilities [Head]

Stamina: passable Keeper: wretched
Playmaking: poor Passing: weak
Winger: passable Defending: wretched
Scoring: solid Set Pieces: disastrous

Hes only got 7 goals this season, mainly because I've only been playing 3-5-2 for a while. I started out the first couple of games with 4-5-1 and didnt have much of an attack..

Stamina: excellent Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: magnificent Passing: inadequate
Winger: wretched Defending: passable

As far as stats go he is my best, but this guy is good too just because of the rarity of his skills:

Mitchell Bautista
1 281 000 US$, 30 years, inadequate form
Has brilliant experience and inadequate leadership abilities

Stamina: excellent Keeper: wretched

It's a close call on my team, so here they are:

Admir Podboj
405 000 US$, 20 years, solid form
Has wretched experience and weak leadership abilities

Stamina: weak Keeper: solid

Playmaking: wretched Passing: disastrous
Winger: disastrous Defending: disastrous
Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: disastrous

Admir was purchased for $352,000 last season. It may have been a little much, but he has definitely been worth it, and that's what it's all about. Admir puts up 3 - 3.5 stars every match.

Göran Andersson
242 000 US$, 20 years, solid form
Has wretched experience and passable leadership abilities

Stamina: excellent Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: excellent Passing: poor
Winger: poor Defending: weak
Scoring: poor Set Pieces: poor

Goran was my newbie purchase as I bought him for $230,000 when he was a mid-solid playmaker. He is set to hit "formidable" on June 26th. I'm thinking about selling him once he hits formidable because he's so old.

Here's my 18 yo who is just a bit behind, but he still gets a solid 3 stars.

Conny Stensson
169 000 US$, 18 years, passable form
Has wretched experience and passable leadership abilities

Stamina: excellent Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: passable Passing: passable
Winger: poor Defending: inadequate
Scoring: weak Set Pieces: wretched

Conny will hit solid playmaking on June 19th.

A word of advice; keep him away from The_Afoci's pre-victory parties. Wouldn't want anything unfortunate (or emotionally scarring) to happen to one of Team USA's favorite sons.

He's not my best player, ratings wise, doesn't collect the most stars, but he's such a versatile midfielder, he has got to be declared my strongest player.

The Pre-victory parties are for one and all. It would be an honor to have a Team USAer stop by for a little anti-glaucoma treatment and share a can of Jif with Chavez "the dope finding" Dog...

Probably my most consistant player with form and all.

I have a solid playmaker, but his stamina isn't great. I have a 18 year old passable playmaker, defender and inadequate passing. I also have a 3 star passable goalie.

terpkristin: not that I have a lot of experience with guys that have such nice ratings all around, but $430,000 is a huge player worth. I'd assume that he's really high in defense or playmaking...you might want to try him as an IM at some point, see if he pops. Can you imagine a Solid PM/Passable Passing/Solid Defending IM with Excellent stamina? Can you say ****? You could probably sell him for a BUNCH of money, too.

Of late, he's been my central defender, I may try him at IM this week though. That's a good idea I didn't consider. :)

As far as selling him, it's crossed my mind more than once, I think I'm having separation anxiety about it though. Maybe once the rest of my team develops a little... :p
